West Fitzroy Apartments

Location was central and within 15 minutes from where we were visiting. It was a serviced apartment which meant we supplied our own meals but the amenities and appliances available in the apartment were excellent. The place suited our needs for this visit to Christchurch and if we need a place to stay when down there again we would definitely use the West Fitzroy Apartments again.

There was nothing I didn't like about the place, although I did report an issue with a light switch that wasn't turning on properly when I left. Also the battery was flat in the torch supplied, although it wasn't needed fortunately.

Awesome CBD location, under 10min walk to city centre and heaps of dining options literally within minutes. Also a 5 minute walk to Botanic Gardens or Hagley Park and the walking trails nearby. Comfy beds and air con and block out curtains! Free wifi was also a bonus that worked really well.

For a family of 3, the superior apartment was on the smaller side however that was my fault when booking I didn't read the description properly! The sofa bed was adequate for a small child.

Everything! Peter, Jackson and the whole team were amazing. We were staying there whilst my mum was in hospital and the location to the hospital, the City Centre, Hagley Park etc is amazing. Can't thank Peter enough for being really flexible with our bookings as we weren't sure how long mum would be in hospital and he couldn't be more amazing in accommodating us, blocking out dates that we might need and changing rooms on how many of us were staying. I've lived in Christchurch Central for many years, have always admired the West Fitzroy building and can now confirm that it is a great building to stay in, the views are great and the security of the building is very good.

Absolutely loved everything.

An exceptional place to stay for our 2 nights in central Christchurch. Needed to rearrange suitcases & do laundry after 2 weeks of travelling. This fully equipped studio apartment with balcony had everything we required. Including free parking on site. Less than 10 minutes stroll into center of town. Also, tram stop 200m (pay driver cash or card) away for hop on hop off city tour. Would recommend staying here instead of paying huge prices for center city hotels!

Hard to improve on an already perfect stay!

The complex is excellent, we have stayed several times

This time we got a small one bedroom unit at the end of the complex, and it was just too small and cramped. The furniture was very old and desperately in need of up dating. The vent for the clothes dryer has come off the roof vent and needs repairs as it will cause several problems in the near future.

We stayed in 3F. We loved the secure off street parking and easy access to the building and apartment. The property is well set up, maybe a little too much furniture. The bed and pillows are super comfortable and there is great water pressure in the shower. The location is fabulous with an easy walk to restaurants, bars and shops.

The shower wipe off blade needs a new hook. Would have happily paid a tad more for fresh towels every second day.

The West Fitzroy Apartments must be a nearly new building, that was certainly the impression I got from the look of the building and everything in and around it. It was very pleasant to have a full sized fridge and spotless appliances to use in the small kitchen. Although a couple of extra power points on the other end of the bench would have increased it's functionality no end. It was great to have a sliding door out onto the small balcony area as this allowed some airflow into an otherwise airless room. That said it was also air conditioned although we didn't need this during our stay.

For a 1 bedroom apartment the floor space was pretty small. We both needed to shuffle down the sides of the queen size bed as there was no room to do anything else, and in order to use the table, which was only about a couple of feet from the end of the bed, we had to bring in the plastic chair from the balcony and turn the table around 45 degrees (to avoid the legs). One of us then squeezed in between the end of the bed and the TV and the other was in the end of the kitchen space. So really this was a 1 bedroom, 1 person apartment. If you owned it and were single you'd struggle to have friends over as there just wasn't the space. Really the lack of space was the only, if major, concern in an otherwise very well equipped apartment.

We have stayed for 3 nights in a 2BR - 3beds apartment. The place is extremely comfortable with all facilities (kiltchen, utensils, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer like in our own house). The apartment is within walking distance (10 min) to the Botanical Gaden and Riverside Market, which is so handy. Compared to other NZ cities we have been (Auckland, Rotorua,, Queenstown and Lake Tekapo) the price for 3 nights was the best value for money.

Peter went above service to us. We had an eerlt (6.am) flight and needed to be at the airport by 4. We slept in and in our rush to pack our gear, locked ourselves out on the rod at 3.30am! a call to him at that hour saw him arrive quickly on the scene so that we were able to retrieve the rest of our luggage. All done with a smile and we made our flight with time to spare!

Loved the location. Only took us a few minutes to reach Restaurants, Bars & great shopping & that was walking.

But disappointed that you only get serviced once a week. Ran out of milk, tea coffee, toilet paper, dishwasher liquid, etc. Would be good if you could top up with those items while staying for short periods. Different if you are staying for longer than a week then you buy your own supplies.
