Hotel De Werf0

This is my third time here and it never disappoints. Very comfy beds, nice room. It is a bit noisy from the people on the streets (people came back from carnaval) and some of the people on the stairs inside the hotel, but for me not disturbing at all!

Nothing to complain. The cleaning lady didnt do my room between frist and second night, but according to the owner this is a mistake (happened previous time aswel… so appearantly a prone mistake, but okey). It is a detail as in general the room and beds are very clean.

Great location across the street from the Marine Museum dockyard complex and a row of 3 good restaurants. Quality bedding and room accessories. Nice dining area for breakfast and post-work drinks. Quiet area at night. Rear-facing rooms have patio/balcony.

Very steep and narrow stairs make luggage handling awkward. No staff present most of afternoon and evening. The manager lives nearby and comes on call (by bicycle, no less). Rooms ate a bit small to accommodate 2 adults. The shower stall is inside the room and there is no adequate surface for toiletries.

Very accommodating, they asked when I wanted breakfast which was very nice in case if I slept in, the owner’s daughter checked me in and was very professional. The room was also very nice with a great view. My first stay in Europe was great due to the hotel.

Nothing, I’m used to American hotels and this would have been a very nice hotel compared to some of the places I have stayed in.

Hotel De Werf is dab smack in the middle of Den Helder. Perfect location to start exploring the region. Tons of good restaurant and museums are situated on the dock yards that used to serve the Royal Netherlands Navy. Breakfast options were limited but they offered enough variety to have a good start into the day. Just below the rooms is a bar (which also serves as the check in) that offers a good variety of beer. Best part was that we could take it back up to our room!

Excellent welcome after a long day travelling. Nicely designed room. Good breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere

On a personal level I would have liked information as to frequency of housekeeping matters such as towel changes, bed making and bin emptying

Nice hotel that is in two refurbished houses. Shopping just around the corner and the ferry to Texel on walking distance. Nice restaurants just across the street. Almost no traffic after 20:00

It is the first hotelthat I ever visited (and i travel a lot for work) where they did not clean the room or made the bed while I was gone during the day. Must be a mistake (slash: hope it is a mistake)

Quality boutique hotel. Well appointed but plain rooms furnished in an industrial theme. Quality shower and bathroom. Location very convenient to excellent restaurants.

Steep narrow stairs; no elevator. Bar closed at 5 pm (October]. Old-fashioned door keys.

Super boutique style hotel. Extremely well appointed rooms, nicely decorated.

VERY STEEP and narrow stairway to rooms, definetly not for anyone in the least unsteady / weak on their legs, difficult to negotiate with anything but light baggage.

the location is very central for visiting naval museum and close to bars and cafes and restaurants Rooms are well equipped with a sense of quirky design staff very welcoming and friendly

Second stay. Free parking just across the hotel on the street, walking distance to shops and restaurants (and the dike). Simple yet perfect breakfast.

The heating system is a bit noisy — switch it off during the night as the room will stay warm for quite some hours
