Quinta Real Zacatecas

The hotel is amazing! It's an old bull ring as indicated in the hotel description. An old aqueduct passes right by it. The whole atmosphere is rather charming. I arrived on an early morning flight. They let me check in right away as they had a room ready- though the actual check in time is 3pm. Throughout my stay I found the staff very friendly, kind and efficient. I have to make particular mention of Rebecca at the front desk. All of the requests I made to her were efficiently followed through. I also asked for a late check out on my fourth day (had an evening flight). She checked to see if there was availability and allowed me to stay on. She is also fluently atleast bilingual (English & Spanish) from what I saw. The other person I have to mention is the person in charge of the breakfast area. The breakfast that's included in the room rate is a continental style one with bread, fruits, coffee. I was curious about the Mexican fare they had on the weekend buffet. He practically helped me prepare a taco with yesca- walking with me the stations to assemble all the components! So on Sunday I went for the full buffet, paying ofcourse the difference in price. The room was pretty big and the bed was comfortable with a good variety of pillows. Very good housekeeping services.

Nothing really that would prevent me from staying here again! If I have to come up with any downsides... The rooms are not soundproof, but again the location is not noisy. One night that i went to bed early there was some noise from traffic and I used earplugs. The hotel is in the center but not right at the plaza de armas. On a map it is a short walk, but you have to climb up and down a hill.

One of a kind hotel in the beautiful city of Zacatecas. What a treat to stay in this hotel that was built on an old bull ring dating back to the 1850’s. The staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant had excellent dishes, and the bar built in the old bull pen was so cool. I have never taken so many pictures of a hotel in my life. The hotel is centrally located to the plaza that has restaurants, shops, museums, and much more. If you are in Zacatecas you have to experience this hotel at least for one night.

Rooms are a bit dated.

The building is a restored very old bullfighting arena, I had the sensation of being in a movie. Everything was so beautiful with a lot of history and art around. The best part was all the staff, very friendly eager to please any request.

Because of all the bad news about the unsafe town, we didn't plan to stay longer. Zacatecas has excellent museums, restaurants and the city is walkable enjoying Colonial sites.

Everything cool. The 24hs business room and the breakfast are amazing! Also, the bar inside the property is great. The view, the location, the building itself and everything was awesome. The cleanliness also really really good.

Beautiful property… old world charm… front of the house staff (reception) was WONDERFUL.

Waiters at breakfast were NO WHERE to be found and when they appeared they were rude and condescending. Also, the cold water handle in the bathroom sink was inoperable.

Our room was very nice, clean and a great view of the bullring and a aqueduct. We had dinner at the restaurant. Don't order their salmon. My wife ordered that and she was not impressed. I had three asado de boda. That was very good. While we were having dinner as guy was proposing to his fiancee. He had mariachi playing which was great entertainment.

We didn't have any wine or any other glasses in our room. Front desk had to call the restaurant to bring is wine glasses. There were no face towels.

This place is spectacular. I love the way the property was transformed from a bull-fighting ring into a luxury hotel.

The woman who checked me in spoke in a very soft voice and very quickly. It was very difficult to understand her, which was complicated by her mask and visor. I asked her several times to repeat herself and she never ajusted her volume and rate of speech. Additionally, the door to the balcony was broken and when we opened it, we were not able to close it again.

my only upset was that room ac is fixed to a certain temperature. you cannot get it colder. units are fixed. I even called maintenance and that’s what they said. so I did not like that ac is set to what they think is comfortable

This is the most amazing, historic building. It’s been beautifully converted into a hotel. Such an absolutely cool place to stay. Just a tiny walk into the most historic section in town. Very close. 

Im in love w the hotel and staff and food and bar. The only thing i would’ve changed was the music. It was all english / pop songs from 80s and 90s. in a setting like that, a mix of mexican folkloric or other spanish music would’ve completed the vibe. think Bolero!
