Gran Hotel Diligencias

I truly have nothing to complain about! The staff kind & polite, the breakfast buffet delicious & too many food choices on the table! The wait staff attentive & clears plate as soon as you set it aside! The bed & pillows comfortable, I ended up staying another night! Plenty of hot water to fill the bathtub, all around worth every dime I paid! Ooh located right in the Centro area across from a beautiful park where they have out door concerts, dancing & festival activity on weekends!

In regards to location, you can't beat this hotel. The center of attractions for the port of Veracruz is precisely in front of the hotel. You can walk to most of the historical sites from here and a short and inexpensive taxi ride to the fort of San Juan de Ulúa. The hotel is clean as a whip, and housekeeping is exceptional. The rooms are large with a high ceiling and plenty of hot water. My IBC score (Internet, Bed, and Coffee) is excellent. Excellent Internet speed, comfortable bed, and fantastic coffee. There is no better hotel choice for the price and no better historical hotel to experience than Gran Hotel Diligencias.

I ate in the restaurant a few times since it was located in the hotel. I was not impressed.

The master suite was beautiful and looked directly onto the square. What amazed me was that as noisy as the square was on a Saturday night, it was quiet in the room with the french doors (window) closed. The location is fantastic, parking very convenient, and the hotel lovely. The Villa Rica restaurant in the hotel was okay, breakfast buffet also okay but very good for the price.

Didn't use the sofa bed for sleeping, but as a sofa it could definitely use some reinforcing or cushion upgrades. My husband and I both sank into the sofa and had trouble getting out.

Lack of details in the room - no glasses, not enough towels. Some of the towels were very old. No coffee maker or fridge. Bedside lamps switch didn’t work. We had to partially unscrewed the lightbulb to turn the light off. We notified the front desk about it, they came to check but never fixed the problem. We had to request our room to be cleaned; otherwise, nobody would show up to clean it. This happened every day we were there.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Veracruz. The room was huge and well supplied and maintained. Had a gorgeous view of the zocalo with all the typical activity. Access to great food and port/Malecon.

Noise from the plaza music late at night was a bit bothersome. Bathroom needed a good restoration, although we had all we needed. Old and faded towels and sheets need upgrading. Hallway carpets need replacing.

the shower was not good, had to enter from front , water splashed over the floor, glass doors were heavy and difficult to move, grab bar missing. Towels could be batter.need more outlets. nowhere in bed to use computer, phone.

The location is awesome, facilities and decoration are great in general. Room size is amazing. Hotel's restaurants are delighting.

The morning shift staff was, in my opinion, arrogant and inefficient. There was a strong cleaner odor in the room's toilet. Frontdesk staff should be adjusted/increased on special holidays, they were having a hard time.

The beverage and the food, delicious and very good quality inside of EL ESTRIBO Restaurant. The attention from the employees, was excellent and so kind from everyone there, It was a very good experience. Without hesitation, I will be back very soon

Business center doesn’t have computers and printers, shuttle service is false, you have to leave your passport at the front desk and pick up until checkout just to receive the remote control for the tv. Internet is bad.
