The location is perfect. Center of the main shopping district, restaurants and only one block from the beach. No vehicles on the street out front just pedestrian The staff always very helpful. Rooms are exceptionally clean an well maintained. great shower! Breakfasts were basic but very good; exceptional coffee and a sunny second level outside dining. love the pet turtles wandering the courtyard.

Band music from nearby club was a little annoying Friday and Saturday nights. Roosting pigeons cooing at night. Neither were a big concern for me. (shower floor very slippery; advise shower sandals

common area kitchen well equipped to prepare meals, short walk to everything and quiet being on a pedestrian road. good snorkelling from shore, mostly rocky shore but easy access. Glad to see that there was still a decent mercado with locals selling produces in town and local colectivos transport way cheaper then taxis to reach far end of town. Rented a jeep for a day to go around the island a must do...

the lack of descent public transport to go around the island. Car rental and taxi must have something to do with that! prices in store and restaurant be aware of tourist traps one exemple noticed a bottle of tequila on Main Street stores was 4 time the price then if you buy at local groceries.

 hotel, Mari Carmen has a super location only two blocks from the ferry and on a pedestrian only street. It is close to many restaurants and there is a convenience store 1/2 block away. The hotel has very comfortable beds and linen. It is super clean and it feels like being in, an elegant museum. The hotel has a small kitchen that guests may use a nice little courtyard, comfortable sitting areas and there is always drinking water available. This hotel is a very very good value, at least during the off-season when we stayed here.

Nothing not to like. if you have trouble with stairs, get a room on the main floor.

Location is excellent for divers. Close to many dive shops, far enough from the ocean front that you aren't swamped by the cruise ship crowd. It's on a main "walking" street with excellent restaurants to the left and right. The restaurant directly in front of the hotel is excellent as well. Two blocks easy walk to the left is one of the best coffee shops in the city.

We stayed in a 3 bed room and everything was comfortable except for one quibble: not enough hooks to hang things on. This isn't a problem for non divers, but for divers you really need 5 or 6 hooks per person in the room (reg, bc, skin, shorts, etc).

We stayed for 7 nights. Overall, a pretty decent hotel for the price. We really enjoyed the breakfast. The staff was super nice and helpful. The best part was the location. It was perfect for walking around town, close to the ferry and lots of good restaurants.

The mattresses in our room were not the best. One was very hard and the other mattress was very old and lacked support. The bathroom had a leak in the wall, and had some mold around the area.

Perfect location, Large room with two double beds, Aircon and ceiling fan, in room safe. Very short walk from the ferry terminal and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Lovely courtyard where we kept our rented bicycles overnight. Would stay here again!

I thought that the bathroom could do with an upgrade ( Putting tiles on the walls would make such a difference.) Everything was clean and worked fine though!

Right in the middle of the city but very quiet at night. A stones throw away from shops and restaurants/bars. Breakfast is great, cooked on the spot to your liking. Their is also a little kitchen which you can use if you want to cook something yourself and eat in the courtyard.

Lovely old hotel set around a central courtyard. Good air conditioning. WiFi was intermittant, sometimes weak, but mostly OK. Good air conditioning, nice room to relax.

No elevators. The room fronts a passageway, and there are no net curtains on the windows, so anyone passing can look inside the whole room.

The Hotel Mary Carmen is not a fancy, luxury hotel, but it suited our purposes very well. It was clean, quiet, (even on New Year's Eve!) and very close to the ferry. Wi-fi was fine, and overall, we were quite happy with our accommodations. There was no breakfast provided but that did not matter to us. We stayed a night here both starting our trip and ending, as we flew into the Cozumel airport.

The location was fantastic. There was a common kitchen that everyone could use for cooking and serving simple food. The staff was extremely helpful and amazing. The ambiance was very authentic and great.

The breakfast was not that great.
