Marialicia Suites, Hotel Boutique

Marialicia Suites is probably one of my top 3 places I have stayed during my 25 Years plus of international travel. 1) Service-- Dulce the manager is one of the kindest persons I have ever run across. Before our trip she helped arranged guides and restaurant restaurants. While we were there-My Girlfriend came down with a virus- not Covid!- And Dulce arranged medical visits, food delivery- everything!! She was our mother and helped us through a tough time! When she recovered- Dulce helped us navigate the best stores( Aripo) and restaurants so we still had an amazing trip. 2) Room- Place is like a full brand new condo- and you can eat off the floors- given my GF in particular had to spend alot of time in the room due to illness- having a modern up to date- this place is 8 years old and seems like built yesterday-- this was especially handy.. the Bed and the linens are amazing--. 3) Location-- it is not in the center of things- it is a 10-15 minuet walk to things- but the quietness - service and modernity make up for the fact you have to walk 10 minutes. Bottom line-- Best service by Dulce and her team/ modern and comfortable you will not find-- so its a max 15 minuet walk and yes you could save a few bucks going elsewhere-- but if you want a friend in Oaxaca who will treat you like family- gotta go here... we love it so much and since trip was cut short due to illness-- we are going again in July!! The hotel itself was wonderful and the room actually exceeded my expectations. But what made the hotel so remarkable was the staff that ran the place. Dulce, who is the hotel manager, was so willing to help me with anything that I needed, from making breakfast/dinner recommendations, to giving directions to points of interest and simply being kind and attentive. I felt more like I was staying at someone's home who truly cared about my experience as opposed just being another guest in a massive and de-personalizing hotel. I cannot recommend Marialicia Suites enough.

Close to city center yet very quiet and serene. We really liked the private room layout with private courtyards for morning coffee. Very clean and well appointed in the kitchenette with an electric range and fridge. A huge bonus when traveling especially to make hot water / coffee but also to store daily sandwich meats for making lunches for the daily outtings.

Wifi was not strong enough to stream Netflix, so we could only access very few English-speaking TV stations. Because the reality is that at night, you are tired from the full day of exploring and you really want to come back and watch a movie...

I was there for 6 nights, just a few weeks ago. My experience could not have been better! This is a small boutique hotel, maybe a 15 minute walk from the Zocalo, and the staff were wonderful. The manager, Dulce, is helpful in any way needed, breakfast was tasty, and it was all very inexpensive, by American standards. There was a continental breakfast, and there was a menu for ordering cooked items. I did both, and I enjoyed both. The cost for breakfast is minimal, like the equivalent of $5, and it includes drinks, like juice and coffee. The coffee can be fancy, too, e.g., lattes, and it's very good! There was a nicely stocked fridge in my room, and all items were well-priced (snacks & drinks). My room was an "individual" room, just off the lobby, and I was worried that it might be noisy. It was not at all, and I was never bothered by traffic within the hotel or on the street. Everything was clean, and I had all I needed in the room. These guys also exchanged my $$ with no fees when I needed it and arranged for several wonderful tours from brochures I noted on-site. The walk to the Zocalo was straight, not that far, and I felt safe at all times. I took taxis through the Didi app, though, for after-dark activities, but I would likely do that anywhere. I can't say enough good things, and I would stay again in a heartbeat! Please tip the staff - they deserve it.

Very comfortable king size bed and pillows. Friendly staff. Very clean property. Breakfast was average and only had it once at the hotel. They provide one pitcher of water daily which is nice but I wish they would provide more water. Lovely little terrace with table and umbrella where we sat to drink coffee. Good coffee packets provided. Dulce at the front desk was very helpful.

Only a few options to eat nearby however it’s only about 10 min walk to center. We had to purchase additional bottled water outside the hotel. Between needing it for coffee and drinking lots because weather was hot , it would have been nice if it was provided.

This is a quiet smaller hotel with very nice large rooms. My room had a kitchenette, sitting area and nice outside patio. It was clean and very well kept. The service from all hotel staff was helpful and kind.

This hotel is a bit of a distance from most of the places I want to see. It usually was a 15 to 20 min walk one way. In the morning this was delightful but by the evening it often felt like a longer trek. This distance is what allowed the hotel to be so peaceful but also made it hard to pop out in the evening for a quick look around and then back up to the room.

The hotel is very clean and well maintained. It is small. I believe there are only 10 suites. During our 7 days stay we rarely saw other guests. Location wise it's not at the center but within a comfortable walking distance to every popular destinations. There are cafes and restaurants nearby if you don't want to go back to the central. Cafes are all very good and with different price range. Lite is a local Mexican restaurant with good food and very reasonable price. We especially liked La Red which is a seafood restaurant across from La Merced Market. It's about 5 min walk from the hotel. The market was interesting too. We bought some fruits there, so cheap and so fresh. For the room, we love the ample living space that includes a bedroom, a living room with kitchenette and the private courtyard. WE were able to stretch our legs or enjoy the outdoor air when we were back in the hotel. Staff is very friendly but not over the top which is great. Not all of them speak English but with Goggle Translate we were able to communicate. We also love we get drinking water pitcher refills rather than plastic water bottles.

Sometimes when our next door neighbor or the room service people are hanging out at their courtyard we can hear them from our room.

Outstanding. We (2 adults) had a suite with 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed & AC plus a well equipped kitchen with a microwave, coffee maker, kettle & hob (2 rings), kitchen island and x2 barstools plus 2 armchairs. Shower room. Modern design, good quality fittings, furnishings & finishes throughout. Outdoor terrace area with table & 4 chairs catches the evening sun (odd number rooms only). Very clean, hard to find any fault. Breakfast/coffee area equally good. Good quality simple breakfast menu inc cooked. Well designed central garden feature between the rooms. Dulce, the sales manager, was extremely helpful & friendly but so were all the staff. Dulce speaks excellent English & responds quickly to messages. About 10 minutes walk to the main square. Highly recommend it. .

This is the kind of very nice place that is made WONDERFUL by virtue of all of the staff. Dulce was constantly helping us to choose what to do, where to eat, shop, etc. She was always at our disposal to do anything possible to make our stay a good one. The other staff are also so very kind and friendly and good at what they do! Our room was exactly as pictured and we really did enjoy the outside terrace area. Breakfast was very good and the location was a very short walk to get right into the centro. But there was a wonderful restaurant only 2 blocks away (Dulce's recommendation) and we ate there twice so didn't even get all the way into town. We got everywhere else by foot or with a taxi that Dulce got for us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone, especially those who will appreciate the extra room that the suites/apartments provide.

The hotel is in an ideal location near the heart of the city with many restaurants, shops and sites to visit within walking distance. The suites are comfortable and were ideal for our family. It allowed us to have 2 separate rooms with a kitchen, bathroom and living room space. This hotel's strongest suit is its personnel who were welcoming, helpful and offered great advice on sites to visit and restaurants to try. Our stay would not have been the same without their valued recommendations.
