Hotel boutique Teocalli

The location is right next to the downtown and Zocalo area of Tepoztlan, but far enough away to be quiet at night. The restaraunt was lovely, and the grounds are pristine and amazing. The staff is super friendly. The massage was incredibly relaxing and well priced.

The bed was a bit firm and the pillows a bit lumpy, but all in all I slept much better than I expected. The AC takes a while to get up and running, but once it's running it's great. Staff doesn't speak much English at all, despite the listing having English as a language, but you're not near the border, and you're not in the city. It's perfectly reasonable for them to expect you to speak Spanish. They are super kind and helpful, and even if your Spanish is broken they will appreciate the effort and help you with a smile. Know some Spanish before coming, or use Google translate and you will have an amazing time. My biggest complaint is that the sewer system can't handle toilet paper, so just know that ahead of time if you experience Montezuma's revenge.

A quiet boutique hotel set in lovely grounds several blocks from trendy Tepotzlan's Zocalo. Our room was large and comfortable (note: electric cooler but no aircon) showers were nice and hot, the open-air breakfast room is beautifully peaceful. The hotel arranges free and secure parking. Marco the owner and his staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

I felt the hotel was rather let down by some of the details; insufficient bottled water, towels, toilet paper, pillows, poor-quality shampoo, no conditioner etc etc. I also suggest a breakfast start time of 0900 is inconveniently late. Try to look beyond the details and the hotel offers a very pleasant stay

We loved our room "without" TV! We had a nice view of the mountains from our 2nd story patio. Marco, the owner was one of the nicest, funniest and most accommodating hosts we've experienced in our many booking.com stays. Janet and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful and responsive to our needs. The breakfast was great with various fruits, yogurt, granola, wonderful healthy blender drink, hearty toast and coffee. The fruit plate was a work of art. Later we had a delicious fish lunch with great guacamole & chips. The grounds and pool area are beautiful and serene. We both had hour long massages. We enjoyed our entire relaxing stay. A great respite from busy Mexico City. One word of caution would be the streets in the village are step, narrow and have uneven cobble stones. The movie "The Magnificent Seven" was made there in 1960 and the village has grown much larger now. There are many shops, street vendors and restaurants in Tepoztlán!!

Walking in the village can be difficult and there are some steep streets and traffic on the weekends. We're in our seventies and we had a good workout.

I was supposed to stay at Hotel Teocalli one night, but I changed my mind and stayed two nights because the place is amazing. From the moment you enter the gate, you feel you are entering an oasis of peace and tranquility. There is a beautiful garden where you can relax. The room and the bathroom are very spacious. If you're interested in having a massage and/or doing yoga, I highly recommend both. Everyone working in the hotel is always extremely helpful. This is a place you will not want to leave.

It is walking distance to the center of Tepoztlán which is very convenient if the main objective of the trip is getting to know the town. It also looks pretty and peaceful because it has a lot of plants inside the property.

It has too many stairs. The pool area is not inviting, if you are looking to chill out in a pool with a view, this is not the right place.

Very close to Centro, very welcoming staff, nice pool, comfortable room and bed. No need for AC in March as temps were cool enough and no mosquitos hence the nets in the pictures. Breakfast was very light and healthy. The place is cared for with love and offers yoga and recommends massage. Neither did we participate in. I would return.

Good price and value. near the Main Street of Tepoztlán. 2 streets away.

there is no parking at the hotel. there’s valet parking but they take long to take or give you your car back. Included breakfast is really simple. And getting to the Main Street is 2 streets away, but this 2 streets away are up hill, you will sweat hard just walking this 2 streets.

The place is very cozy, and the staff quite kind, we were about to stay only one night with a tight schedule we wanted to get around Tepoztlán as much as possible so we did not get the chance to enjoy the pool and the facilities and the activities they offer at its full… one thing that we did not like is that the restaurant/bar closes pretty early (8 pm) and opens up late for our taste (9 am) we did not get the chance of having breakfast at the place either, it was too late for us… nobody at reception before 9 am…

We will definitely be back to tepoz and stay at the same hotel. Excellent location, super friendly staff and even the owner gets involved in going out of his way to make sure you are happy and comfortable. I say this because we had an unfortunate experience and the way the staff, Luis and the owner addressed it was very pleasing. It is in those moments were you truly see and differentiate outstanding hotels from average ones. Kudos to all the staff here ❤❤❤

I would say parking. They have this huge lot 2 blocks away, if you don't mind walking to go park your car then it is not a big deal

Beautiful Zen retreat in the middle of Tepóztlan. We loved the atmosphere in the small (9? rooms) hotel. the staff was extremely friendly and relaxed; our room large, with lovely patio and very quiet (if you don’t mind the barking neighboring dogs but well, you’re in the middle of a town).

I personally could do without the music all over at the small breakfast place as I like to start my day chill but it was okay to turn it off so no, this is not a complaint.
