In general everything was very good. The room was quite large, the breakfast had tons of options, the staff was very helpful, and the free parking garage onsite was convenient. The location was also good because it was right next to Valletta without being directly in the hullabaloo of Valletta and its narrow streets with car restrictions. We were also particularly appreciative that the hotel was able to lend us electrical outlet adaptors as we were naive and didn't realize that they use the same plug type as the UK and not the rest of Europe.

The beds were a bit too hard for my liking but I know that's personal. The room did smell a bit like stale smoke which was unpleasant but didn't ruin our stay.

Breakfast was superb: omelette s custom made, mushrooms, baked tomatoes, coffee. Room had a nice view of the pool, beach, and harbor. Room had a terrace which was just great for sitting and relaxing. Location was very good - we could walk to central Valletta.

Food choices were very limited. Tiki bar/restaurant had no salads, no small dishes, nothing light. Wednesday buffet BarB Q was too much food and for a high a price. Too few local beers! Inside bar food was a good alternative - they had salads, burgers, sandwiches. And the live music was a plus. TV in room had poor reception, and only about 5 channels; 2 news channels in English were BBC with poor sound and France 24.

Fantastic location overlooking the sea with a beautiful pool area, plenty of sun loungers & areas to sit. The staff are really lovely & always willing to help. Rooms are exceptionally clean & large. Breakfast & buffet dinners were very good with plenty of choice & the Tikki bar was great for a drink any time of the day or night. Despite the need for a complete update to the front of the building & some renovations to bathrooms, bedrooms etc it’s a really lovely place to stay with its old world charm & so much nicer than modern faceless hotels.

Whilst the hotel is in a great location for relaxing by the pool it is a bit of a hike up many stairs & a hill to get into Valletta centre. The front of the hotel needs renovation & the bathrooms & bedroom furniture do require updating. Sun loungers were old & uncomfortable & need replacing. I found the bed was extremely hard too but that might be preferable to others. Staying here isn’t cheap & I think more money needs to be invested on maintaining & improving the inside & outside to bring it back up to a 5* rating which it definitely isn’t at the moment.

It’s a fantastic Hotel with the amenities and facilities you would expect from a big size five star venue. Squeaky clean and spacious rooms, well trained staff, great swimming pool and ambience around it. very good breakfast with many options to choose from, a delightful lobby bar with a scenic view of the bay. If you book an ocean front room you will get the best view of your life

There are weddings quite often at the hotel and when they take place in the Tiki Village which is right under the ocean view rooms like the one we had, it can get very noisy. One night it was so bad that I went to the front desk to complain. I received all sort of apologies, but had to bear with the noise until close to midnight. The following day manager sent us a bottle of wine with a nice letter. So bear in mind that a similar situation may occur

The size of our room was fantastic. We had a family one, which consisted of two adjoining rooms. This meant our teens had their own space, two larger than normal single beds and their own separate bathroom. We had a superking bed in our room. Location was fab, only a 7 or 8 min walk up to the high street. The bolt taxi app was very useful, quick and cheap if we were going further afield. The teens loved the scooters. I loved having access to the sea for a daily dip. The food was very good, in the hotel and everywhere we ate.

There are some small elements of the hotel that are ready for an upgrade, but having such great space in the rooms gorgeous setting, absolutely spotless, good staff and food, far outweighed this for us.

This hotel has lots of character and atmosphere. It is an older property so don't expect modern. It has a huge outdoor swimming pool (and a smaller indoor pool), with plenty of sun beds. (We visited in June so I imagine it will get busier in July and August). The rooms were are spacious (we stayed in a full harbour view room) and full bathroom with separate shower. It is in Valletta only minutes walk away to the old city and the bus terminal and restaurants. It has a charming cocktail bar where mood music is played nightly. If you want night clubs and dusco, perhaps you should stay in Silema! Finally, the staff were delightful and went out of their way towards to offer a first class service.

Nothing.

This is THE ideal hotel in Malta for a sea front location, excellent amenities, especially for families. walkable to all points of interest, harbor excursions, and excellent surrounding/outstanding restaurants. Hotel personnel are invariably helpful, food choices are plentiful, especially at morning and evening buffets.

All rooms have balconies and a good views. It is important to specify exactly what one expects in terms of the view. Full sea view rooms are significantly more expensive.

I liked the hotel as a whole and with excellent location for a short walk into Valletta. Room servicing was very good, with ‘turndown’ service. Dinner gave a wide variety and excellent choices. Wine list pretty decent too.

Front of house staff were really quite inexperienced, and therefore, bar services and waiting on was not very good. Also, the pool side bar was not open, so, any drinks or snacks had to be carried down from 6th to 1st floor and out to the pool. Unfortunately, we found the breakfast to be rather ‘average’ and, for the choice and quality €20 was too much, so we walked the short distance to buy breakfast in Valletta.

The welcome was great, quick check in and friendly staff. The breakfast was tasty and well organised as well as the staff being great. The dinner buffet was lovely. Great options and top service. Lovely pools and outside area. Rooms were very clean and housekeeping were very friendly and did an excellent job.

The bar service was really disappointing several times orders were wrong or half turned up. No one was taking orders we had to come and ask to be served. It was unfortunate that you had to pay €10 per day for the steam and sauna as due to it being a 5 star hotel I would have thought this would be included.

The location is perfect a short walk, albeit uphill do the gates of the city, but only took us about 10 minutes. The staff are great and the breakfast is fantastic. The outside pool and small beach style part by the sea are great, as you can get both a city and sea break in one hit. Our room view was wonderful, the rooms on the 9th floor have more privacy as the tohers can see into other peoples balcony where the 9th floor is cut off, the harbour/ inlet sea view of ours was great.

We really enjoyed the hotel, it could be criticised as fading elegance in a lot of areas and does need sprucing up, but that is offset by its plus points and value for money.
