Hotel Muso

Great location on a quiet street close to restaurants and shopping. Staff were so kind and helpful. Amenties in the room were high quality and plentiful. The hotel was boutique-like and very peaceful. It was a highlight of our trip to stay here. Check out the 05 Kyoto Rare Tea Bar just down the street - it's not to be missed either!

It was an amazing experience for us to stay in The hotel MUSO in Kyoto. It's standing on the center of Kyoto, yet very quiet, but still take just 5-10 minuites of walk you can go everywhere, any hotspot, inside of Kyoto. the hotel's concierger are all kind and helpfull. We'll come bake to here again for sure.

Wifi radio inside our room are, unfortunate, slightly week.

Our recent stay at Hotel Muso for 11 nights was exceptional! Ryo and his staff go above and beyond, have attention to detail and are truly the kindest people. The rooms are large, modern and exceptionally clean. Our room had a large bed, lounge area, kitchen area and large bathroom. Everything looked brand new. The bath was amazing! They clean rooms daily and change all linens, toiletries, water, coffee pods, pyjamas each day. They do not have a restaurant or cafe but deliver tea/coffee and breakfast to your room each morning. The location was great, very close to the main areas and plenty or restaurants etc. There is also a 7/11 a couple of doors down which was very convenient. We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Kyoto after such a wonderful stay at Hotel Muso. Thank you Ryo for all of your kindness, hospitality and for making our stay so memorable.

Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! It has a fantastic location and the rooms are top quality. The lobby hours are limited and there is no restaurant inside the hotel but this is definitely compensated by the amount of space and amenities in the rooms. Everything was spotless and the staff attitude was very friendly. Breakfast is included and delivered every morning directly at the room. The communication with the hotel was very smooth; we sent our luggage in advance from Tokyo and the hotel staff received and placed it in our room prior to our arrival. We will definitely repeat our stay here next time we visit Kyoto - recommended :)

The room is spacious, allowing for the full spread of two large suitcases. The room is clean and comfortable, with the option to independently adjust the heating/air conditioning for a very comfortable stay. The staff is very warm, professional, and attentive. They are willing to assist travel-related inquiries, like calling taxis, making restaurant reservations…… providing a welcoming home-like atmosphere. The hotel's location is convenient, with a convenience store just a 1-minute walk away and the Kamo River reachable within a 5-minute walk. It's a hotel one would want to revisit and recommend to friends.

Outright the best small hotel I've ever stayed at. We stayed at the suite and it was so spacious. The hotel room was high tech, from its door mechanism to its toilet that opens up as you open the door and auto flushes. The bathroom was spacious with a couple sink and complete with a jacuzzi to help re-energize you after long days sightseeing around Kyoto. The location of Hotel Muso is also very central, with Nishiki Market and Gion being a few blocks away, 7-Eleven across the street and lots and lots of local eateries around the hotel. Cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely book this hotel on our next visit to Kyoto.

Nothing, everything was amazing.

Amazing service and facility. I stayed in the suite room on the 5th floor as we were a family of 4. The facility and room looked like a brand new or recently renovated. The suite room had a small kitchen and a bathroom with a big jacuzzi, both with high quality finishing. The hotel is conveniently located within the walking distance to major shopping streets and Gion but not in a too touristy/busy neighborhood. It took 25min on foot and 20min by bus from Kyoto train station for us to get to the hotel. The service from the staff was truly exceptional even at the Japanese standard.

Literally, nothing to complain about.

The hotel is located in a very convenient area of Kyoto. The room was beautifully appointed, spotless and comfortable for a family of four. same with the spacious bathroom. The kids loved their futons in the tatami room and we appreciated the comfortable beds. having a jacuzzi after lots of walking was fantastic. All the little touches of complementary drinks and toiletries were great. The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. The best accommodation we have had so far in Japan and one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at.

Absolutely nothing-it is perfect.

This was truly one of the best stays we've had, ever, and it is because the staff went ABOVE and BEYOND to make our stay wonderful. The hotel itself is also fantastic — perfect location ~10 mins walk from Nishiki Market, extremely comfy beds, beautiful and high tech bathrooms, etc. But it is the kind and helpful staff that really blew us away. They took so much time and effort to help us with making food reservations (which in Japan can be difficult because you need to call/speak Japanese). They did this even for a meal we wanted to have in Kobe (they called multiple places I suggested, and when they couldn't secure us a spot, they found another FABULOUS restaurant and booked us there). Top notch hospitality and kindness. Thank you, thank you, thank you! A special thank you to Ryo who called 5 sushi places to finally secure us a last minute dinner spot.

Everything was fantastic

This is a lovely hotel in central Kyoto, near the Gojo station - away from the industrial zone of Kyoto station but within walking distance to several amazing temples such as Kiyomizu Dera. The room was large and equipped with nearly everything you could need, and everything is modern and high-tech, even in Japanese standards. Although we did not make breakfast reservation, a light breakfast (baguette and a drink of choice) were served to our room every morning. The reception staff (especially Yu and Ryo) were very friendly and helpful and spoke better English than in most places we've stayed at in Tokyo.

The only minor "complaints" would be lack of any view from our 4th floor window (which was blocked by the adjacent building).
