2 specific things to compliment: The shuttle service to and from restaurant of choice in town is very considerate for guest who do not choose dining in hotel. This together with the whatsapp servicing channel that they provide makes the dinner experiencevery easy Great concept with the onsen arrangement. Instead of one big public bath, 8 private onsens are available for guests to book in 45 mins sessions. It provides a much more pleasant and exclusive experience, definitely a selling point at this price point. We tried no. 2 and 4 and 6. Number 2 is the biggest outdoor one and highly recommended.

we really enjoyed the warmest hospitality and was really amazed by how all staff went beyond our expectations even on tiny requests that we made. There are private baths available for booking, 45 mins per slot, this place is perfect for couples, honeymooners and those seeking privacy at a reasonable price. All indoor and outdoor private onsen are beautifully decorated, we particularly loved the golden hot spring! Dinner was amazing and the Chief Chef never fail to surprise us, we looked forward to our dinner every night. Each party has a designated private room for dinning and meals were served by the same member of staff, we enjoyed chatting with the friendly staff members :) We had a really wonderful time and we can’t wait to come back again!! Thank you once again for the warmest hospitality and for the unforgettable Japanese onsen experience ❤️

if we must make a suggestion, it would be great to have wechat or whatsapp to arrange free shuttle service as we didnt have a working Japanese number for calls. But the locals are also very friendly and wouldnt mind helping us make the phone calls to the hotel to have it arranged. :)

The Onsen is wonderful. You can book your private onsen free of charge for 45 minutes. We booked 1 in the evening then another one the following morning. It is clean and spacious. No wonder it is one of the top 3 Onsen in Arima. It is quite expensive but it is worth the money. They have free flowing coffee juice and ice popsicle

There is a portion where wifi is a bit slower but if you move closer to the door the wifi is faster. I had a little hard time sleeping since I am not used to soft futon, we are relatively big and heavy in size. But my sister used the extra futon and combined it to make a comfortable bed.

Hotel is way better than we've expected Staff were all very nice and helpful, their service were excellent. The room were large and clean. Onsen were reserved by booking and allow only 1 family per 1 onsen for 45 mins Excellent, we definitely recommend to others 😘

The room was amazing, very spacious. The private bath was wonderful! The staff was overall kind, especially the man driving the shuttle and the people that were at the reception during the evening.

Only one person of the stuff was a bit rude to my husband: when he went to ask for help to use the washing machine, the man replied with a very condescending tone "have you read the guide?". Not the kind of attitude you expect from the staff of this kind of hotel (we stayed only one night and was not cheap...). Arima town is cute but there's nothing much happening at night. We went to an ok restaurant recommended by the hotel and that was it. I'm sure people do not come here for the nightlife though.

Arima Onsen had a shuttle to pick us up from the train station. Upon arrival were warmly greeted by kind staff who spoke english and a beutiful and clean lobby. While we were checking in, they took our luggage up to our rooms.

That you had to make a reservation for literally everything from the bath houses and the restaurants. The 10 food options were not even all available, so we had to pick out of 5 and dinner was rushed because we had an onsen slot close to the dinner reservation. It felt rushed having to make and catch each individual reservation.

· The room was spacious and clean. The washroom and minibar were well-stocked and we enjoyed the complimentary drinks and chocolate. The city view was up to our expectations and we enjoyed the summer breeze from the balcony of our room very much. · The onsen was phenomenal. All rooms were private and must be booked in advance which offered unmatched privacy. Both cold and hot showers were available. We booked the 2nd room, which was an outdoor one. Despite being outdoors, we were not bothered by any insects during our 40-minute stay. The water was hot but felt very relaxing to soak in. · (Most of) the staff members were exceptionally attentive, polite and professional overall. We were brought to our room and given a brief room tour. Amenities and services were introduced. As we drove a car, they personally helped us carry all of our very heavy luggage all the way from the parking lot to our room during check-in. They also offered the same during check-out. · Complimentary drinks and ice bars were provided at the lobby for enjoyment after using the onsen. There was a large variety of drinks available.

· A longer opening time of the drinks & refreshment area in the lobby would be much more appropriate -- it closed at 9 while the last onsen timeslot for the day was around midnight. · We would also appreciate if the staff member at the front desk during our check-in for our onsen reservation to be more polite and engaging, though we understand that it was quite late at that time (11pm).

Fantastic services. Great facility. It's on the side of the mountain with a great view of the city. Both breakfast and Kaiseki dinner were phenomenal. The little details put into the service made the stay even more enjoyable. The cost was on the higher end, but I felt like it was worth it. I'd stay here again, if I go to Arima again.

I have a bit OCD so it does not apply to everyone. I noticed some parts of the hotel seemed not cleaned for some time; generally good though.

I enjoyed my stay here so much; the service was top tier! Being a 5 star place, it’s a bit on the pricier side, but I completely understand - you get what you pay for, and that is definitely a 5 star stay. Friendly and accommodating staff, with a free shuttle service for all their guests. The private hot springs were so relaxing and I liked how the booking system for them worked. I don’t think they have small rooms? I was one person, yet the room I got was basically the size of an apartment, with the mountain directly outside my window. My room had a futon mattress, which was made at a time of my choosing (between 6pm and 8pm), and I actually liked sleeping on it. Overall, I loved my experience here, would come back one day!

Beautiful baths and lovely rooms. Our 43m2 room was perfect for 4 people. There are several indoor and outdoor baths to choose from. The staff will book restaurants for you and drive you/pick you up whenever you need.

If you are staying in a group in 1 room but don’t plan to take a bath all together, be warned they will still not let you book more than 1 outdoor bath at a time - which I felt was unfair if we weren’t all bathing together. Also, I noticed in the outdoor bath a lot of dust in the upper areas.
