JR Inn Asahikawa

The onsen was amazing, it was open for most of the day and was great for relaxing. The location of the hotel is right on top of a mall with a supermarket, and a food court, which was really convinient for food. The bus station for the zoo is a minute walk from the hotel, and many other bus stations. They had at least 3 laundry machines, the lounge was really comfortable and relaxing to sit in, and they had a pillow station to choose pillow hardness which is mind blowing.

I didn't like the curtains at the room. My room was facing the sunrise and at 7am my room was lit up by the sun and I couldn't fall back asleep.

Room was new and tidy. Location was very good as it is next to Aeon mall and JR station. Lots of things to see and eat in the mall. Organised hotel with good coffee (in the common room), spa and laundry room. There are also lots of amenities in the lobby for you to take should you forgot to bring something. Good security as have different elevator going up the rooms vs going to the mall.

Room is very small. Unable to open our luggage on the floor space. Unfortunately the carpark they recommended has a height limit and our rental van was too tall to fit in. We have to pay for our own carpark and it was quite far to drag all the luggage around.

The location was great! It was next the station and above an aeon mall. A pharmacy was also nearby. Alot of restaurants and attraction. The staff was also great. Alot of amenities and vending machines with free ice. Bathroom was clean and alot spacious.

The public bath was kindof small. It dosent allow people with tattoos even if you use patches so keep that in mind. The entrance and elevators were confusing at first but it is easy to remmeber after awhile. The amenities in the room were complete however the variety of pillows usually offered at the lobby only had two options left upon check in and was completely gone by evening.

There are many hotels near the railway station in Asahikawa but during winter months the roads, sidewalks can get slippery. This hotel is connected to the station. Even rooms which are small are well organised. View from the window was fantastic. Public bath was really good.

Really nothing to complain about. The room could have been a little bigger bu luckily we were traveling only with our cabin bags so there was no problem but it would have been difficult if we had 2 suitcases and 2 cabin bags.

Everything! The location is great, between the train station and Aeon mall, in the center of the city, and where the shopping street Heiwadori starts. You cannot do better than this, everything is at your doorstep! The hotel was very nice, well-maintained, and comfortable, with superb facilities. They have a lounge serving free drinks, a public bath which we really enjoyed using, and a coin laundromat. The service staff were also very courteous and helpful!

Nothing, this was one of the best hotel we’ve stayed in while in Japan!

The hotel is in an ideal location for exploring Asahikawa and surrounds. It's situated right above the Aeon Mall and JR station which made it so convenient for groceries, shopping and food. The rooms are clean, comfortable and ours had a great view looking out onto the trains and town. The rooms were high up so it was very quiet. The hotel also washing machines/dryers which were cheap to use if you needed. We drive to Asahikawa and were able to park in their designated spots inside Aeon Mall parking. Even though the car park was always busy, we were able to find a park.

Convenient location next to AEON MALL. Though parking is a little walking from hotel, it is covered and we borrowed the luggage trolley.

Trainee counter staff needs more training. The guy counter staff though can converse in English tried hard but did not know enough of their hotel room. We asked for a business chair with back rest and wheels for our elderly wheelchair bound parent and he said no such chair where it was found in one of our rooms. Wheelchair accessible room is too small. Dedicate some parking lots in aeon mall for hotel guests will be appreciated.

What was wonderful was the onsen and the great library where we could drink coffee. The facilities are so clean and new as well. The staff were nice, we just loved everthing about this hotel. We initially picked it because it was right next to the train station and we were not familiar with this chain. But now I'm always going to look for this chain just because the library/sitting area is outstanding! We got to eat at the buffet located in the next building for breakfast and there was a good variety.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.

Clean & comfortable...except using 2 lifts to navigate...

Problem to navigate the hotel and carpark and one have to use at least 2 lifts to reach either places and I don't understand why hotel have to disable one lift to reach certain level. And the distance between car park and lobby is quite a distance. Therefore this hotel design is not friendly to motorist or guest with car but ideal to train passengers as it is next to a JR station.

Right next to the train station and attached to the Aeon mall where you conveniently dine and shop. Front desk staff were friendly, polite, and efficient. They stored my luggage while I was waiting for my room to be ready and by the time I return from lunch, my room key was ready. The ability to choose your own pillow type was a nice touch. Their lounge was nice, well-maintained and quiet. Onsen in the hotel was the main reason I chose to stay here after a long train travel but I got more value for what I paid for. I will definitely make an excuse to return to Asahikawa just to stay here in my next visit to Hokkaido.

None
