The view, swimming pool, breakfast, rooms, and excellent.

It was partly my own fault for not doing thorough enough research, but I would not recommend staying there if you do not have transportation. Taxis are not easy to get in this area and I walked down this incredibly dangerous road that is over 1/2 miles down two times and up this hill once. It was not my physical conditioning that concerned me. It was just very dangerous. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent…!

AMAZING accommodation just outside of Sorrento. Views that you can only dream about and well appointed rooms. The pool was a bonus and we were able to relax there for a few hours on the day of arrival. The included breakfast is also sufficient.

We had only checked in for one night, so was only able to access the pool for 3-4 hours the day we checked in as it doesn’t open until 11.15am the next day. I knew this when booking but would have loved to have gone for a swim before checkout. We had planned to eat at the hotel restaurant that night, so we didn’t have to move the car/drive to have dinner. But the menu is the poolside menu which is panini only. It didn’t really affect the overall experience however we couldn’t really enjoy a few drinks by the pool as we knew we had to drive to get dinner.

The view of the room is just magnificent and so is the swimming pool. It’s very quiet and i had the best sleep with the sound of peaceful ocean in the room. That was quite an experience. The location is out of nowhere and the only realistic way to get there by public transport with luggages is to take a taxi which is quite expensive (40 euros from Sorrento). But for us the view made it all worth it.

The main hotel manager and the front desk staff was nice and very welcoming but the rest of the staff were reluctant and unwilling to have any requests from the guests which was a big surprise - it’s a three star hotel after all and this type of service level is definitely below the standards. It seems to me that the hotel is run by the bare minimum efforts to maintain the service - anything outside of their minimum is dismissed with a cold reaction. The hotel is very clean but there are clearly some aspects where they need to update such as no WIFI and very old beddings.

The hotel Mega Mare is located in private grounds with a well maintained terraced garden overlooking the bay of Sorrento, and has plenty of space for parking. Although the hotel is just off the SS145 you cannot hear no road noise nor see the road from the hotel. The hotel was designed and built by the owner of the hotel and his father to a high standard. You can feel the pride and real care in welcoming the guests by the owner and the staff. The height of the hotel above the sea of about 400 metres results in an outstanding view across the whole bay towards Sorrento and Capri, and every room has a balcony or terrace with this sea view. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, with a small fridge, TV, comfortable bed and a good wardrobe. The well-equipped bathroom is very clean. There is a good buffet breakfast in the large downstairs dining room again having the sea-view towards Sorrento and Capri. The hotel provides easy access to the bay of Sorrento, Capri, the Amalfi coast, Naples and the archaeological sites of Herculaneum and Pompeii where we spent a very enjoyable week. The outstanding view must be one of the best in Italy; and we highly recommend the hotel.

I recently discovered a hidden gem 10 min drive from Sorrento that offers unbeatable value. With breathtaking views, a great pool, friendly staff, free parking, and balconies in every room, this hotel is also very affordable. The panoramic vistas from the balconies will leave you in awe, and the well-maintained pool provides a serene escape. The staff's warm hospitality and helpfulness add to the overall charm of the place. The inclusion of free parking is a rare bonus, and the complimentary breakfast is a delightful start to the day. If you're looking for an affordable yet memorable stay in Sorrento, this hotel is a must-visit. I'm already planning my return.

Hotel Mega Mare is in a stunning location on the cliffs north of Sorrento. The hotel has everything you could want including a lovely swimming pool. Our room was gorgeous with a balcony and views down the coast. The room was a great size, nice bathroom and the place was spotless. Breakfast was excellent, perhaps just missing some fruit choices. A great place to relax for a few days and enjoy the area

You definitely need a car for this location as walking anywhere is not advisable but there is plenty of parking. The hotel does not have a restaurant which I didn't realize until I got there (more research needed on my part) so having to go out to eat was a bit inconvenient given the location. However there are a few nice restaurants nearby although some were closed (off season, September) . It's about a 15 minute drive to Sorrento in the heavy traffic which I'd say is the same all year round and there's plenty of parking there.

The location is just perfect! In 20minutes you can reach Positano, Amalfi. Also, very near Sorrento. Pompei and Naples easy to reach. Free parking, lot of space. Room is okey with breathtaking view to Meta-Sorrento shore. Best thing about this hotel is POOL area. Amazing view, clean pool, but there were some issues.

Staff is weird. I came to this hotel only because of the swimming pool. One day a guy (with longer hair) came to us and asked us to leave the pool. Because other people wants to come. You can't do like that to guest. I understand that you have only 14-16 sunbeds, but in this case you need to buy more sunbeds or make a timetable for guests. For example, room 401 staying from 11am to 1pm, room 402 from 1pm to 3pm and etc. To come and ask to leave the pool is the worst.

The view was absolutely stunning! The terrace was a good size. I think the photos on the website don’t do it justice. The pool area was also great to enjoy the view.

The location was a bit of a pain for not having a car but there is a bus if you walk 5 minutes towards Vico equense that takes you to the train station, but they aren’t very frequent. Would be nice if there was a few more food options for dinner sized meals. They did have a sandwich option that was good for lunch.

Small boutique hotel with stunning panoramic views. Very well kept with excellent cleaning services.

The location is not ideal if you don’t have a car or scooter. The nearest town is a 20 minute walk away. Fine going downhill but not easy coming back. Taxis are €20 for a 5 minute ride. Whereas the hotel has breakfast facilities it has no other dining facilities. There is a choice of 2 paninis available for lunch.

Regardless of the opinions about the hotel, the view from the hotel and from the balconies of the rooms is simply stunning. We enjoyed the hotel very much. Easy access to the main road to both Naples and Sorrento, and convenient parking. The hotel itself looks a bit dated (the elevator, the corridors) but the room was clean and quite comfortable. The breakfast is good, and the attitude at the reception was excellent, including the good recommendation for a great restaurant nearby.
