Ca' Dei Polo

The location is only a 100m or so from the grand canal and very near the bus depot and railway station, I was able to come out the front door and take in the vibes of Venice.

The hotel does not have a sign up or a reception. An A4 notice on the door has the telephone number and address of a nearby hotel where I needed to check in, Then I was given the door code and room key location. That said the rooms are superb and the location is excellent.

We had to check-in at another property to get our keys. The other hotel was around a 10 minute walk which doesn’t sound much but in the heat with heavy suitcases and two children - it was inconvenient.

We wanted to be located near to the Tronchetto as we were travelling on a transfer bus to a cruise ship so the location was perfect. It was a short walk to the people mover. We walked around Venice which wasn't a long walk. The room was beautiful, very spacious and clean no complaints.

The check in was at a sister hotel which was a ten minute walk away. The outside appearance was not the best when we arrived. It was self entry via a given code on check in and collection of key as reception in hotel closed so not a real problem

Conveniently located close to the station. The room we stayed in was a lot more spacious than typical for Venice, and it was clean and decorated in a what feels like a "venetian style". Even though from outside it looks run down and desolate, inside it's a typical classic hotel. The wifi worked well.

I didnt like the fact that they state that reception is temporarily moved to Hotel degli Artisti due to low season, but reading reviews one can easily see that's what they're doing at least for a year even during high season.

clean, quiet, and good location - 20-30 min walk to St Marks (depending on if you get lost like us :)) but lots to see on the way and can do it quicker with water buses etc - lovely to ramble around

getting to it at first - have to check in at another hotel (they do tell you this) - it’s only 5 mins away but it’s 2 big bridges (and 90 steps up and down ) with suitcases. however here’s the tip!! if traveling with another person go to the Ca’ Dei Polo first and have only one walk to other hotel to check in - it’s closer to Piazzale Roma (where you’re dropped) over 2 small bridges and one has a ramp on it!! sooooo much better)

The location was excellent! close the the train station (6min), a lovely canal and many reasonably priced restaurants! Also the room was really really nice, spacious, pretty, well taken care of, and it had that antique vibe that we loved :) also it was nice that there was a sofa in the room to relax and not only a bed and a desk with a chair, it was a nice element. The reception was also looking lovely however it’s true that there was nobody there (the keys are available in the hotel right next to the train station, 6min away from the place). They also told that that we can leave our luggage both before the check-in and after the check-out, always appreciated gesture, and convenient as it’s so close to the station. To add last thing, the bathroom was also very nice and clean and WARM! all good, will come back

The tv didn’t seem to work, it couldn’t find a signal, however take it with a grain of salt as maybe it’s just our poor skills (we probably could ask for help), last small thing: the shower head needs a bit of adjustment as it was a bit leaking, an easy fix, both things really didn’t had any impact on our stay, it was all good :)

The room was spacious and clean. Great there was a fridge to put bottles of drinks. Room was nice and cool on arrival which was fantastic as the walk from the bus terminal is decent.

Our only complaint would be the drain in shower needs fixing!! The shower itself was good but the water was not going down the drain quickly, so it would fill up. That was a bit gross as your feet would be soaking also was afraid it would spill out onto the bathroom floor.

First of all, we liked the location of Ca' Dei Polo. As it is so close to the bus and train stations, getting there is perfectly easy. On the other hand, we also had very practical access to sites to visit. It was very pleasing that our room was upgraded to a suite upon check-in.The facility was very clean and comfortable. Honestly, if we come to Venezia again, we will first choose Ca' Dei Polo and recommend it to our friends who are considering traveling here. Thank you so much.

- Clean and very spacious room (we got a free upgrade) - One of the receptionist was very friendly and helping - Great location - very easy to find (a huge advantage for Venice) - Beautiful view through the window - Opportunity to store the luggages for free

- One of the receptionist said the different check-in time when in the message we received on booking.com (message said 13.00, she said 13.30, booking.com page info said 14.00)... - Some small changes can change the quality of stay: changing the non-working lamps and broken hangers for example. - Quite dark lighting, some lamps had bluish color

Very comfortable position, 3 mins from the S. Lucia train station, in S. Croce area. Relatively quiet, close to a couple of really nice restaurants and bacari. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean and quiet room.

Not being able to check in at the hotel (we had to go to a different one to pick up the keys), nor to leave our luggage exactly at Ca' dei Polo was a downside.
