Hotel Rocca Della Sena

So far the best hotel of this trip in Italy. Large, comfortable room with safe, great Wi-Fi, pleasant temperature, as well as climate control. View from the hotel and room -directly over the sea, it is possible to see the Stromboli from afar. I saw the sunset almost over the sea, but closer to summer the sunset occurs directly over the sea, and even over Stromboli in August. Buffet-style breakfast, but the guest chooses and they bring whatever is requested: they have prosecco, cheeses, ricotta, breads, yogurt, croissant, eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice, etc. For all tastes, savory or sweet Italian . Staff: attentive, helpful, friendly. They are to be congratulated and I thank everyone. Every night I would ask for a chamomile tea to sleep and they would prepare it with all hospitality. Consierge: book tours and taxi to train station or port. Anyway, perfect.

The staff were extremely friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Very comfy bed and great shower. Great location with private stairs down to the beach. Very fast WiFi which was good enough for video calls and meetings. Very clean room and hotel overall.

It was a shame that the gym only opened at 10.30. Air con in the room was too weak which made sleeping uncomfortable. For a beachfront hotel with a pool, the classic double room had nowhere to hang wet clothes and towels. Only one hook inside the shower. Without a balcony or any outside space, this made it very difficult to dry things. Storage space and hangers also limited. It's also a shame that you have to pay extra for the sauna. It would be good if the hotel staff were more informed about equipment hire or had stronger links with the lidos. We chose this hotel for our wedding anniversary and were a bit disappointed by how they recognised this compared to other similarly priced hotels.

What a great find. We love this beautiful hotel, with it’s relaxed vibe. The views are spectacular. At night you can see Jupiter and Mars. The terrace is a great place to chill and just look at the view. You can walk to the beach and back up the steps again. Breakfast has everything you need and more. Coffee is brought to your table and there is a great selection of quality food. The staff are exceptional. Rooms are lovely, very comfortable. An easy walk to town. Sad to leave.

We loved everything about this hotel! The staff were all so welcoming from the beginning and provided us with extra assistance in catching our ferry to Sicily after we left. We enjoyed drinks by the pool and a lovely restaurant recommended by the hotel. It was a short walk into town and the beach clubs. The breakfast was outstanding, so much choice and was the best we had found in our 3 weeks travelling through Italy.

We would have liked to stay longer!

Staying at this hotel was the highlight of our two month trip in Europe. The staff were out of this world and bent over backwards so we didn’t have to lift a finger. They organised dinner bookings, beach chair rentals and gave good recommendations for things to do and see. The staff were so friendly, it was like they are all part of a small family. The buffet breakfast was outstanding and be sure to taste the local speciality (NDUJA - a spreadable salami). We have never felt so relaxed in a hotel and Tropea was the most stunning place we visited in Italy. we will definitely be back one day - hopefully for our honeymoon one day! Thanks again. Emma

Rocca Dells Sena is my go to hotel in Tropea. Special thanks to Manager Massimo Vasinton for arranging an incredible private boat tour. Hotel also booked a private massage for me on the terrace overlooking the sea (masseuse was amazing). Massimo is well connected to the best of local services and restaurants of all of Tropea. ALL hotel staff have excellent standards and customer service. Terrace views are stunning, proximity to beach is a perfect, high marks for cleanliness and comfort, secure and safe property, air condition in the room works great, quality and plentiful breakfast. I look forward to returning soon!

first Paola was fantastic. so very helpful we had a magnificent room overlooking the ocean and mt Stromboli. Heaven . Pool beneath us and a spa on our private balcony. Gym and shower/ sauna before you leave after quick dip in the ocean. Fabulous facility. Beach is accessed down a lot of stairs directly. just take your time. wonderful pool and drink when you get back to the hotel 😁 The main part of Tropea is a short walk away and full of interesting restaurants and beautiful vistas We managed to get a free park out the front of the hotel. Perfect

Hotel and bar staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. First hotel that has ample street parking available to come and go as you please. Hotel room was clean and spacious. Breakfast and coffee were nice. Access to the beach was an added bonus.

Shower head was too large for the small shower, making it difficult to shower without wetting my hair.

The hotel was lovely! so close to the city center and with the most lovely view to the beach and direct access! Everyone was so lovely, from Paola in reception who answer all of our questions and helped us book a tour! to Pawel in the bar who was just amazing! Making the most lovely cocktails but also entertaining us with his magic tricks! we had just a fantastic time!
