The accommodation was easy to get to and perfectly placed for exploring old town Palermo. We stayed for a week and were very happy to have done so. The owners were very welcoming and provided useful information on places to see, eat and drink. Rooms were comfortable, breakfast was delicious every morning, and Manilo keeps the place spotless. There are 70 steps to the door of the apartments, but it's worth it because once you've made it that far you enter an oasis of calm in the heart of the old city. Stepping out from the accommodation you find yourself on Via Divisi, with Via Roma to your right and Via Maqueda to the left, both bustling streets with plenty to offer. On our first evening the owners suggested crossing Via Roma and walking down Via Divisi towards (pedestrianised) Via Vittorio Emmanuele and that one piece of advice led us to what turned out to be our favourite area for wining and dining. We loved Palermo. We loved the accommodation, and we would return in a heartbeat.

The apartments in the old town, 7-minute walk from the Central Station . It was very convenient for me because I came to Palermo from Catania by bus. The location is quiet, there are no bars and cafes near the house but great places can be reached in 2-3 minutes. The apartments are perfectly clean. The rooms and all areas are decorated in very good taste. This place is a real pleasure to stay in. The breakfast is excellent. And most importantly, the wonderful host Manlio, who told me a lot about Sicily and gave great recommendations for museums, interesting places in the city and cafes.

Everything was good

We absolutely loved the location. As we approached the address we were wondering what was in store for us. We passed several bicycle shops (hence the name) in the locale along this street. But as we entered the street door into the enclosed courtyard... wow! History! A great building with plenty of history. We were met by a wonderful man, who apologised for his very fluent English. We apologised to him for our lack of Italian! He had a great sense of pride in the city, history and the building. He explained to us where to go, where to try, etc. Always spot on for us. There are two rooms in his building that he has guests in. We had the bedroom with separate bathroom; both spacious and lovely and clean. The other is en-suite. We had a small balcony to look out onto the street. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was great. Continental Breakfast was prepared for us as we were there by the host and there was a great selection of fruits, freshly bought pastries, breads, ham, cheese, yogurts, fruit juice. Best of all, the coffee he made us. There was one other guest whom we sat with at the one table in the kitchen area. Some people may like their privacy but we were all happy to chat away and share experiences, etc. The location was very central to where we needed to be as we walked everywhere. It was also a short walk from the railway station; ideal for getting there from the airport, and leaving towards Catania a few days later. All very walkable (certainly for us as 56 plus year olds) A lot of time has gone into making the place so homely with lots of fascinating decor. May not appeal to some people, but we loved it and would definitely stay there again.

For us, everything was perfect. Nothing we did not like.

Loved my stay at La Via delle Biciclette. My triple room was the one pictured, large, very clean, and had the en suite bathroom with expectedly small shower. The only other room has a private bathroom down a hallway. Breakfast was lovely with fresh squeezed orange juice, fruit, pastries, yoghurt, musli, and cold cuts with toast offered. And cappuccino. Manlio was very helpful with advice about sights and restaurants. Know that to enjoy this unique place you must climb about 64 steps; there is no lift. And you must arrange a time to meet Manlio at the outside door to be let in, so very late or early morning arrival could be challenging.

The location was perfect - near all the main sights and the railway station. Excellent breakfast - huge filled croissants and fresh fruit/jams - unfortunately we were unable to take breakfast every day due to early starts, but Manlio left some food for us to take on those days. Manlio was very helpful when we arrived and in answering questions via WhatsApp during our stay.

Bit of a nuisance having the private bathroom separated from the room, but it was a lovely, large bathroom with all the facilities we needed.

In the order of everything that relates to our staying in the La Via delle Biciclette B&B: - Excellent access to transportation from and to the city of Palermo, thanks to a 8-min walking distance between the property and the central railway station / the bus terminal - Central location of the property in the part of Palermo, most attractive for tourists, guaranteed by a 1-min access to each of the two major tourist streets - via Roma and via Maqueda - The family apartment in the building on the very quiet street, no elevator but still a convenient access from the street level - Charming historical design of the whole apartment with the atmosphere of the Old World , and at the same time all modern amenities in impeccable condition - Having the dedicated bathroom outside the room was not a nuisance ... perhaps, because the second room, available for tourists, was not occupied at this off-season time of the year (things may be different if the both occupants are in the apartment) - a very good, filling and generous breakfast! So fresh and yummy! And on the top of all was our host Manlio who we can't thank enough for arranging this whole B&B in the centre of Palermo, for all pieces of advice, references, suggestions and help with navigation on the local Internet scenery. So many thanks, dear Manlio!!!!

As we have said, we were visiting Palermo in December, so we were the only guests in the apartment. Therefore, absence of a directly accessible shower/bath room (we had to cross over to it through a good half of the apartment) was not creating a trouble.... but at the different - hot - time of the years this may be an issue, even if the second room has its own bathroom inside. So, if you decide to book this property, remember about this natural oddity

Our chosen bedroom, a double room opening onto the narrow street, was on the second floor in an apartment which had been in the family for years. It came with a well appointed private bath/shower room just a few steps away which was for our personal use. The flat had many interesting features but the special mention is for Manlio who was a fabulous host. Both helping us to locate a restaurant specialising in vegan food and making Palermo manageable and fun with his local information. The breakfast was informal, eaten on a table in the kitchen with any guests from the other room which is available for rent, with plenty of choice and variety served by Manlio. It was an excellent location for us just a very short walk from Palermo Centrale Station.

It was not a problem for us, but the apartment is on the second floor and so you need to be reasonably fit for the stairs.

The location is perfect, 5 minute walk from the central train station (I recomend to go by train if you fly in at Punta Raisi Airport) and in the south of the old town where you can reach every major side within a few minutes by foot. Breakfast ist extraordinary (for Italy) and made fresh every day. The host is very engaged to answer questions and gives you great hints für restaurants and other events and makes you feel comfortable. The room itself was big and clean, nothing to complain about. It's a special feeling to stay in a real 1700ish italien Palazzo and feel the history and the vibes of the city, not compareable to a boring standard hotel. Hope to come back in autumn and stay here again.

Great location with characterful rooms and generous breakfast. Friendly host with useful local information. Various nice touches around the communal areas. Central location is ideal and close to the station re airport access.

Main exit to street had an "unusual" issue opening the door....a neighbour helped out but a fail safe exit button would be good.

Very nice B&B in the historic center of Palermo in the proximity to the central train station! Extremely friendly and helpful host, who also takes extra time for recommendations about sightseeing and restaurants. Manlio, the host, makes you feel really welcome :). The place is both comfortable and special: The rooms are very clean and lovely decorated, the accomodation itself is a must-see too as it is situated in an ancient palazzo, which gives it a very elegant and historic atmosphere. All in all, this B&B is exceptionally good and can, therefore, be highly recommended to all visiting Palermo!
