Hotel Gambara

One of the best things about this property is how close to the metro station is, so it was really easy to move around Milan. The neighborhood was quiet and with cafes and restaurants around. Although is an old building and upon arriving that was a bit scaring, the room was really spacious, clean and comfortable, I even have a window with view to the street so it was nice.

Maybe the fact there’s only one bathroom to share and though I have a shower in my room, the use of the bathroom for others purpose some days needed some wait. Not a deal breaker though.

When checking in, the staff is always smiling, very warm and kind. I really like their service attitude. Their service attitude is even similar to the Radisson Hotel and Sheraton Hotel near the airport. The hot water in the room was steady. The new pillows in the room were very comfortable to use (maybe latex pillows). There is Carrefour and many restaurants not far from the hotel. So I think it's good value for money to live here.

The sound insulation of the door is not good. I even heard people chatting happily and loudly in the corridor at 1pm. I don't feel like it's affecting my rest, but I think it's definitely having an effect on older people's sleep.

The receptionists are great people they helped us a lot. Nice Location very close to metro station. There are supermarkets open until late nearby. Possible to get kettle from reception. The room is very spacious and the facilities are sufficient. There is a very well prepared city map.

Luckily we stayed in the period of when the interior of the building was painted. For this reason, we could not use the balcony. I think it's almost time to finish the paint job. Balconies will be open soon. the bedspread was not prepared to fully cover the bed quilt. It can be problematic in terms of hygiene.

The location of the hotel is the best part, the metro is so close and so well connected, the hotel is clean and has just about everything you need for a short rest and a good night sleep.

The one thing that can be improved is the English language knowledge of the staff, a girl that was working there did not understand us at all when we needed something but the other staff could understand so I just suggest everyone improve their English a bit :) this is not a bad thing just a recommendation.

The hotel is in a very nice are, whcich is easy to find and reach with metro. Our room was clean and even had a little balcony. I can only recommend to everyone who is looking for an affordable solution in Milan.

I made sure that the reception knows that we have to check out in the middle of the night and asked them to call us a texi when we are there. Since they are there 24/7 I was made sure that it's not a problem. However when we went there at 3 we couldn't find the guy anywhere. We called the number, looked for him everywhere but couldn't find him. Calling a taxi at 3 without any italian knowledge is very hard, we were scared to miss our flight. At the end we found him (after 15 minutes) and reached our bus and flight.:)

The room was spacious. It was cool that the room had a shower inside. Hotel staff was really friendly. This hotel is next to a metro station which is not far from the city center. It took maybe 10 minutes to reach the center of Milano.

The room didn't have an AC from what I can remember. I was with 2 of my friends on a trip. After each of us took a hot shower it was quite steamy inside the room and window didn't help situation much. All of our clothes were quite damp after our stay. It was still cool that the room had a shower but I would recommend using a shared shower in the hallway.

What a fantastic place this is! You take a metro from the central station and reach Gambara station in under 10 minutes. The hotel is about 2 minutes walk from there. The room was spacious with plenty of space to walk around. There was a private (though small) shower in the room. The room also has an open toilet inside and the only thing separating it from the bed is a temporary partition - this means it is only usable if you're staying alone. There was also a shared toilet and shower room nearby which was clean and well-equipped. The location is extremely pleasant with residential buildings around. The staff is extremely helpful and speak decent English.

There's literally nothing that I didn't like. I'm definitely staying in the same hotel when I visit the next time.

Not my first time here so this should be enought to say. I like the place as it is close to Gambara metro station and for an overnight stay in Milano it just fits. Summer can be hot inside, and there is no AC, but celiling fan can help you to make your stay more comfortable. If you are looking for a luxury, go elsewhere, if you need clean place with private bathroom to stay overnight, it may be your choice.

Stairs to the lower level are a but tricky, if you are not max 1.65 cm and less than 70 kg, but are managable.

- The bed was really comfortable. - The room was really well equipped, we had closets, chairs, nightstands and also a table. - There was even a TV in our room with several different channels. - We had an own sink with a mirror and shelves, which was really useful. We also got towels and shower gels. - The heating worked really well, there was a good temperature in our room. - The staff was really nice, some of them know how to speak English. There was a 0-24 reception, so they let us in even at 2 am. - There was a metro station a few minutes walk away, which made every sight in Milan easily approachable. - There was also a really nice supermarket nearby, where we could buy our breakfast and some drinks for the day.

- There was no hot water in the shower so we had to shower with cold water. But the sink in our room had hot water. - The building was under renovation so there was construction work every morning, which woke me up, but it only started at 9 am, so it wasn't a big problem.

Location was simply perfect, metro line directly to the city center was 2 minutes away. Room was clean, bathroom was simple, but functional. Provided heater helped us dry our rain soaked clothes. The staff was very helpful, asking us if we want our room cleaned that day or not was appreciated. Bed was appropriately sized and quite comfortable.

Our only complaint is the lack of any soundproofing, if some guests laughed or spoke we heard it all. Considering the age of the building however it may just not be possible to fix that issue.
