Hotel Firenze e Continentale

The best things about this hotel were the friendliness of the staff, the beautiful interior in the public areas and the proximity to the train station and the square where there were several restaurants and gelato shops. The breakfast was quite good. Rooms were a bit small but not too bad.

Even though the breakfast was good, I thought the cost was included according to Booking.com. Mine was not. I suspect that not some of the options available through booking included breakfast while others didn't, so I would advise to double check before you select your option,

Great hotel to stay in La-Spezia. The train station is located across the steet and so is the public parking lot. The staff is very polite and helpfull. We got a room with separeted beds and we asked to move to another room with a single bed. The hotel was full, however the staff arranged a single bed matress and combined the beds to a single bed. The bed was very comfortable. Very good breakfast with large variety and great coffee, you have to order from the waiters. The hotel is close to the pedestrian mall where lot of good restaurants and 10 to 15 minutes walk from the port bars

The quality of the accommodation was as expected and comfortable but expensive relative to other countries including the UK. Staff were generally helpful and thankfully spoke English. Though the hotel is close to the station we had no problems with noise. Being close to the station also meant we had easy access to the Cinque Terre as well as the town centre.

Breakfast was included and the quality of the offering was good. Unfortunately there were several times when not all items were available due to the large number of coach parties already eating their fill. I would expect this when we are late down to breakfast but not 45 minutes into it being served.

Lovely hotel. Breakfast was excellent. The staff at breakfast were wonderful. The location near the train station was very convenient for traveling to Cinque Terre. The hotel was in walking distance to the town. The room was comfortable and quiet. The restaurant across the street was convenient for a good Italian meal.

The parking garage was somewhat difficult to maneuver in and out of but conveniently located near the hotel.

Everything except the two details below (coffee & WiFi) were fine. We had opening windows (which we kept closed so as to efficiently run the air conditioner); which would be really nice at other times, not in a heat wave!!! The air cond. did work well. Phew! Convenience to the station was exemplary, and just around the corner was the bus stop down to the ferry for Cinque Terre. We had dinner one night in the older part of town, and the second night in the hotel *cafeteria*, which was handy after an exhausting sightseeing day. (It also allowed us to use WiFi in the public areas, which we couldn't access from our room).

No tea or coffee making facilities and we were told we could not even get one in the breakfast room, but would have to walk down the road! We don't buy breakfast, as neither of us want much more than a good coffee to start the day... preferring to eat a snack a little later. Generally hotels that provide breakfast in the rate don't have tea & coffee facilities, and those that have breakfast (or not) as an optional extra do have tea/coffee making... and I'm very well travelled to know that for a fact! This was a very unusual situation. The WiFi failed to work in our room.

Location was the best thing of this hotel, just one minute outside the train station. Room is decorated nicely and beds are very comfortable. Room was very clean though day to day service could be more attentive. Breakfast was delicious too and staff were super friendly. English breakfast section could include a better variety though. We will definitely visit again.

Beginning of our trip was fine, arrival and check in was great. On the surface the hotel looks nice, lobby, outside hotel, bar etc Bathroom was huge with nice towels and great shower pressure. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. We were able to leave our bags till check in time.

Room was a bit dated and our air-con did not work ( discount or some kind of refund wasn’t offered ) . Extremely hot during the night. Couldn’t open the window as very noisy outside ( window faced main street ).Standard room needs urgent renovation and in no way is 4 stars (rather 3). There was a bad smell and mouldy wall/wallpaper. Electric socket was broken and dangerous to use. The staff was friendly but not taking feedback nor asking how was our stay when we left. Breakfast 15 euros per person. No tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Location close to railway station and town centre, very friendly staff, nice breakfast in stylish restaurant (extremely good breakfast selection by Italian standards), large room, minibar, views from the room of the hills, good WiFi signal in rooms, high standard of cleanliness

Lack of parking (I had to use a pre-booked private parking facility a 5 minute walk away), rooms a bit dated, uncomfortable bed which was too small (I'm only 6 foot / 180 cm, but my feet were sticking out from the foot of the bed !), the elevators are tiny and slow - not good for claustrophobics, I used them once and struggled with the stairs thereafter

Comfortable. Well positioned to walk in La Spezias old town. Staff were responsive and obliging providing maps, directions and booked a fabulous massage in town for me. They even arranged for our luggage to be stored for a day while we visited Cinque Terre before our train left. The restaurant had live jazz one night and we shared the occasion with the locals while we ate a lovely meal. Breakfast were a generous full buffet.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide and varied choice to suit all tastes. The location was perfect as it is right by the railway station and just on the edge of the main pedestrian street. Staff were very helpful.
