The place is literaly 5 min walk from the main city square and cathedral. The host - Elisa, is kind and helpful. Rooms are cleaned daily, the towels are changed frequently. Perfect breakfast - it has various food and you can enjoy it sitting in the inner terrace of the building. I don't understand why some people are complaining about the stairs - the apartaments are on the first floor and there are no more than 15-20steps. The price-quality ratio is more than good. Definitely recommend and if I ever go back to Catania I will stay at B&B Elmi!

The walls are thin and you can hear everything from the room next door and from the kitchen. Though that was not a problem for us, because we didn't stay there during the day and for the night we were using earplugs.

It is like one's own flat as you let yourself in and out of the floor apartment as well as the building. Safe gated street portal, courtyard crossing to building entrance. If you don't mind 26 stairsteps to the B&B flat. ITS OK. Elisa explains all you need to know before she leaves you with the set of 4 keys. You're on your own. AND ITS A Short WALK FROM PIAZZA DUOMO & other sites. Cool balcony facing a quiet street; trendy contemporary decor and clean comfortable bed and bathroom. Tea kettle and tea in room. Rooms are cleaned daily unless you request exceptions.

No lift. Sometimes the WiFi waivers and is lost, but I alerted the owner Elisa and she remotely fixed it somehow. It worked pretty much after that. It takes several minutes for sink and shower water to warm up... has to run for at least 3 mins before it gets hot. Sound carries from the next guest room, so hope you don't have a screaming toddler next door. Luckily that family vacated next day. ELISA DOES ALL SHE CAN TO MAKE YOU HAPPY, THOUGH. BREAKFAST* IS OFF SITE in a Bar you get a voucher for each day. *(continental style)

The location was ideal. The accommodation was excellent value for money. The breakfast was enjoyable especially with the opportunity to eat outside on the decking. Our room was very clean and staff very friendly. The decor theme running through all aspects of the guest area and rooms made B & B Elmi an attractive place to stay. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Nothing to complain about really. It may be useful to differentiate the main front gate key with the room key with a coloured fob cap to make it easier to get in and out.

Walking access to the old part of town and the piazza, market etc. The host provided a map and suggestions, which was very helpful. She also responded quickly when I had trouble locking the room door. The sunny terrace and accessible kitchenette for juice, water, coffee or tea was excellent. Breakfast was very good and I loved the walled in terrace with plants and flowers all around. The setup was private and modern and very clean.

The parking garage was never open so I parked behind it but the area was about 12 minutes away and too far to transport any heavy luggage if you are staying longer than a day. The area around the garage is very rundown with feral cats and dog poop all over. Not comfortable to be in after dark.

The room was exactly how it was describee beforehand. Modern interior, clean and it had everything i needed. The breakfast was great as it also had an international one with bread and spread (e.g. salami, mortadella, cheese), eggs and also sweets. The place of the B&B is also great, in 5 minutes you get to Piaza Duomo and only a couple minutes more to the bus station, which will take you anywhere. Elisa, the host, is very friendly and helpful. Whatever problem or question you have, she tries to help you out as best as possible.

There isn't really much i disliked. The only thing would be that my room was directly opposing another one and the walls are quite thin, so you could hear your neighbors, when they get louder. Also it was directed to the street and Via Emanuele Vittorio has quite much traffic. But it is not really the fault of the B&B itself and didn't really bother me.

It's an easy walk down to the Doumo and main restaurant area. Elmi is beautifully designed and quite elegant. Nice bathroom. The breakfast is good, with fabulous croissants. I mentioned to Eliza that I liked ham and cheese and tomatoes for breakfast, and she kindly provided them. There wasn't anybody there all the time, but Eliza organised a taxi for me to the Airport. When I first arrived, there was no answer... But then my taxi driver phoned Eliza and she sent one of her staff, Guiliana to let me in. She was very kind, and very helpful with good English.

First impressions of the area from the street were a bit confronting. Steel doors... the norm in Italian cities I'm sure. And there are a lot of steps to get up to the Apartment. But this is MY problem, with dodgy knees... Not everyones!

It is the people that make the experience at Elmi. Everyone we met was friendly and willing to be as helpful as possible. The breakfast was very good with savoury and sweet choices and the breakfast terrace is also a nice added bonus.

Walls between rooms are not very thick do the noise travels between rooms. I must say that we had a room facing the busy road and the double glazed windows really cut out that noise completely, which we appreciated. No luggage rack, though the rooms are spacious so it could fit.

When I was able to check in at 3pm I was greeted by a really helpful and engaging young lady (Giuliana, I think). My room was the Marilyn Monroe themed one - well, it had a massive image of Marilyn on the wall behind the bed! - good size, little balcony and a decent shower! I also got a really good restaurant recommendation for dinner from Giuliana plus she organised my airport taxi for me (which arrived as arranged).

A little difficult to find (it's one buzzer among a bank of others beside a metal gate) and there wasn't someone there when I arrived at 12.30pm - I was hoping to just drop my bag off so I could explore the town.

The location is excellent, just like all the interior of the place. Plus we had a delicious breakfast on the terrace outside. Getting there was easy and although finding an parking place isn't that easy in the street, there's a safe private parking area nearby. Our hosts were helpful and communication with them was seamless. They even let us leave our baggage inside the apartment after checking out, which helped a lot during our last day in Sicily. The room is very modern and beautiful in an old building . We stayed in Amy Winehouse room (there are 4 rooms after 4 famous women) The host was very nice and helpful Breakfast was basic but served in a very lovely way Location is very good. Less than 5 minutes walk to the center Parking free on the street (the host show us where exactly to park) - maybe can be problematic on summer time
