Hotel Ideale

The Hotel Ideale is a beautiful place. The rooms are small but immaculate. The views are unrivaled. The breakfast overwhelming wins. The Staff are very hard working.

The parking is a challenge if you have a large SUV or Sedan you might not fit through the gate. Once your in there is a chance that you may be blocked by other cars, more guests than parking places !

The view from the terrace is really outstanding. I had breakfast on the terrace and met on one evening with friends for an aperitif and they were all stunned by the view and the sunset. The breakfast was delicious. The hotel does not have a buffet, but there are two options (savoury or sweet) and both options are very good and varied with fresh fruits, croissants, cake, etc. Everyone in the hotel is very friendly. The location of the hotel is very good it is above the cathedral San Rufino and it takes about 5 minutes to get to Piazza Commune (it takes a little bit longer to get back, given that Assisi is very hilly.)

There was nothing I did not like. I had a single room which was comparatively small, but ok and it did not have any special view, but I knew this in advance and the hotel got in contact early and communicated well.

Location is perfect! Just outside the walls, with easy access to everything, convenient on site car parking and a fantastic breakfast, served in the garden or the terrazza. The owners and the staff are all wonderful. Special mention to Mama Marisa and Marco. At the sunset, you have the best views of the city and the valley below, while having a drink and some local delicacies they can serve you. The rooms are extremely clean, with great balconies and all the amenities we needed. The decoration is full of details to make the stay special. If we come back to Assisi, we will stay there again.

The views are amazing. All though you are in a hotel, you truly feel like if you are home. The garden is beautiful. The breakfast is delicious. Great coffee. I got a beautiful room with an amazing balcony view. The bed was really comfortable. Everything was perfectly clean. The location is great because you have the bus station across the street. Assisi is a little town in a mountain so the streets go up and down. This hotel is located in the upper part so you can cross all the town in your way down and is really easy to go back to the hotel using the bus if you want to avoid the uphills, although is a beautiful experience to walk up and down. Nearby you can find several little restaurants and a beautiful church. The hotel has its own parking lot so if you get there driving is a facility. If you don’t get there driving, the driveway is in front of the hotel so you won’t get any trouble to get there with your luggage. That is something quite important having in consideration that in Assisi there are lots of streets with no car access and that makes the luggage handling difficult. The staff was so welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located in a great location with free parking and wonderfull views. Beautiful garden out front. Marco at reception warmly welcomed us on arrival and gave us great advice about the town, places to go and also church mass times. He was so kind and helpful. We loved everything about the hotel and their staff. Delicious breakfast too. We enjoyed great meals at cafes and restaurants in Assisi Easy walking from the hotel to restaurants, churches and shops.

It was wonderful … could have stayed longer

It’s the best hotel throughout our Italian trip. The hotel is set upon the hilltop just outside of the historic town centre of Assisi. The location is really perfect as we could take beautiful pictures of Assisi and the towns below; the sunset view was particularly magical. Free parking on site; people were hospitable; room was spacious and clean; I particularly appreciate the toilet which was clean and modern, just made me feel comfortable and hygienic. Very good breakfast, both the food and the environment. It’s unfortunate that we were only there for one night. I would really hope to go back to chill at their cafe in the garden at different times of the day. Thank you for making our stay at Assisi a very memorable and comfortable one. Gracie!

There is no elevator, but it’s not a problem to us at all. Marco was super efficient and helpful. He greeted us and helped us bring our luggages up to our room from our car.

I absolutely loved the location high above Assisi: my room was on the second floor with a good sized balcony to enjoy the view. There is a large breakfast terrace with a similar view. I didn't need to use the air conditioning as it was nicely ventilated thanks to it's location. I appreciated the fact that the hotel is accessible by car unlike in many other historic town centers. Staff was very welcoming friendly and helpful.

Marco at the hotel reception was amazing. His cheer and helpfulness really won over our group. He was so helpful making reservations at restaurants and getting anyone anything they needed. The breakfast was fantastic and the view from this Hotel is striking.

The beds are a little firm. This property is older and not quite as modern so some of the amenities are not what you might be used to...however, in return you get a lot of charm.

Probably the best view any accommodation can provide in Assisi. We took the apartment which is away from the hotel. No view there but it is a very comfortable apartment. We had breakfast in the terrace area of the hotel and the view was great. If we had taken a room (which will be a normal size hotel room), then we could have the view. We were happy with the trade off as the apartment was great - lots of space for us to also repack our luggages. Host are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. We walked around the whole area - lots to eat, to see and to buy...... most importantly we visited the various churches the 2 days there. We took a drive around as well and it was great to be able to do both.

Nothing that we didn't like about the apartment. It was great.

Absolutely love this beautiful family run hotel! We were in this hotel 30 years ago on our honeymoon. When we decided to return for our 30th Anniversary we were delighted to see it was still going strong. The owners are friendly and welcoming .The location is beautiful with stunning views of Assisi and the valley below. Our room was tastefully decorated and very clean, a really good size, comfortable bed and an area to sit and relax in. We had a balcony overlooking the garden and the views, where we sat out and watched the breathtaking sunsets. Bathroom was beautifully done too. Breakfast was a choice of sweet or savoury, typical Italian food, beautifully presented and ample portions to set you up for the day. Tea, coffee, wine, brandy etc was available from reception and could be brought to your room. Beautiful patio area in the garden also. We were so delighted to return to this exceptional hotel and find it was as wonderful as when we'd first been. BELLISSIMA !! We will definitely return. Many thanks to all at Hotel Ideale for a wonderful stay.
