could be a bit noisy.Our room was over the bar, nothing serious,but was woken up to to people obviously leaving the bar, saying their goodbyes.It wasn’t very loud,and can’t be avoided I suppose. Also the bedroom doors banging closed! That was annoying!! Found it hard to get parking,as it is a public car park, that has a leisure centre in it, so could get quite busy. But the best part of our stay was the breakfast. Self service for cereal,fresh fruit,scones,etc. and table service for hot food, so you know it’s cooked fresh,and not sitting in a hot plate. Everything was lovely.And the staff were very helpful and professional.

The staff were super friendly and attentive, which made our stay all the more enjoyable. The breakfast offered great choice, was quite delicious, and was served in a modern, comfortable dining space. We found the hotel clean throughout.

The only thing we didn't like was not the fault of the hotel itself; rather, it had to do with selfish guests. Our sleep was disturbed by inconsiderate guests who arrived back to their room (adjoining ours) in the early hours of the morning and proceeded to have an argument that went on for quite a while. To any guest, no matter where you stay, please don't be irresponsible and selfish; instead, and at all times, be responsible and be considerate of other guests.

Very clean property with friendly and helpful staff in the breakfast/ dining area. These girls did everything ensure we enjoyed our time eating there.

We did not get the friendliest of greetings from the lady at the reception when we arrived and this did not change on the following day either. As people who also work in the hospitality sector I would definitely ensure customers are warmly greeted, I know we can all have off days but when dealing with the public it costs nothing to smile and be polite.

Great hotel in center of town. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Restaurant serves food all day and their bar is very lively. room was spacious and had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable and towels were of high quality.

I had requested a room with two beds but when checking in I was told I should have called the hotel to request this. They do not take requests from booking.com! Luckily they were able to give us a room with two beds

The hotel was modern and clean with large comfy beds and nice facilities in the room. The nearby public car park was great and the overall location of the hotel was excellent. Would return again.

We wanted to settle our bill using a IrelandHotels.com gift voucher, however reception told us as we had booked through booking.com it was not possible. We always use booking to make our hotel reservations and often have similar gift vouchers; this is the first time we were not able to complete such a transaction. Seems a strange rule to impose given the hotel would be receiving the full payment one way or another. The rooms weren't very well sound proofed so you could hear people coming and going, especially late at night.

Everything fine, room good (see below), beds great, food excellent, location brilliant and a good price. Almost perfect. Car parking was cheap (3 euros per day) just adjacent to the hotel. N.B. entrance is off the one-way street that runs past the hotel just before you get to the hotel (Look for the sign that says 'Maddens' and turn down left just before that sign).

One thing, just the single thing, illumination levels in the room and bathroom were not enough. After nightfall, with no light through the windows, I had difficulty reading a newspaper and my wife complained about a lack of illuminated mirror in the bathroom.

The staff was incredibly accommodating and went out of their was to get us checked in early which was really great. The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast service was fantastic!

We were told they would have something available for us in the morning when we had to leave before breakfast but clearly did not tell the kitchen staff and they had to try and put something together last minute for us.

Bkfast excellent . Dinner superb Location in downtown super. Parking convenience good. 2 sinks in bathroom outstanding Bed very comfy Staff were very helpful and super friendly.

Others doors slammed and was very loud and annoying. Enough to wake you up. Maybe the doors and frames could be cushioned to lessen the jarring noise. The TV channel selections are very limited and not enough variety. Maybe offer movies (pay) etc. The varying slopes and levels could be better identified or eliminated

The hard-working and absolutely lovely staff truly made the Clew Bay Hotel feel like coming home. A great location for walking around the town. Because of older family members, we used taxis to get from/to the train station, and out to The Quay. Enjoyed breakfasts and an evening meal. The room was quirky and spotlessly clean.

Central location for the town of Westport, friendly and welcoming staff. some of the rooms have an “internal” view that people prefer because it’s quieter than facing in to the street . Our original room was like this but we prefer an external view. it was Ko issue to get our room changed. Breakfast was very good with a nice selection of help yourself continental and the option to pick porridge and cooked items from the kitchen too. Parking in the leisure centre car park very cost effective at 3€ for 24 hours.

A towel rail beside the sink would be great!
