Great hotel location. Grand big room and comfortable bed. Very clean and neat.

Could do with better lighting in bathroom however (for putting on make up?!) Not enough milk provided to match number of tea bags?! Thought 106 was a nice room until I saw 400, and discovered my friend only paid €40 more!? Think the room price was steep enough without breakfast included. That was our main reservation. Think €150+ breakfast would be better value or €180 with breakfast included for room 106.

The Lansdowne is a lovely hotel..clean, warm, reliable facilities, great ease of movement from foyer to room to car park/street…great location

I think it very unusual that the room lacked a dressing table/seat area..important for us ladies!😀 Also, I feel bath robes and slippers are indispensable in any hotel room. My dining experience was very average..meal bland and lukewarm…no mint sauce for the lamb dish..a basic enough condiment when serving lamb.

Location was perfect and close to everything we needed in Kenmare. Room 401 was exceptionally comfortable and beautifully decorated. We loved the cotton sheets and fluffy duvet! Bathroom was modern and loved the heated underfloor tiles! Incredibly quiet room with no noise disturbance from either the street or other rooms. The staff were courteous helpful and especially the manager on reception who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. A special mention to the young fellow who served us breakfast and was cheerful and professional with us and other guests. We will gladly return to the Landsdown.

Breakfast was very poor in our opinion. We travel a lot and this was not what we have come to expect from a hotel of this calibre. While my bowl of oats was tasty, the red fruits on the side were a little scant as was the portion of porridge. Perhaps a selection of grains seeds or nuts would be preferable or fruit that’s in season, bananas or apples? My husband had poached egg on two tiny discs of bread which seemed an inadequate portion size to start the day. I don’t like mentioning this only blip in our wonderful stay at this hotel but it resulted in our choosing to eat breakfast elsewhere the following day. Everything else was fabulous but can I suggest a magnifying mirror with light in bathroom as there was no over mirror light and it was tricky doing my make up!

The bedroom was tastefully decorated, very comfortable, large and restful. Very clean bedroom and bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable too, providing a lovely night's sleep. The staff were professional, welcoming and very helpful -we were so appreciative of that! The staff are the top selling point. The breakfast was lovely, staff ran an excellent service, very calm and efficient. There's a lovely bar and lounge to relax in downstairs. Facilities are excellent, and I really appreciated the excellent shower and coffee machine in the bedroom.

The car park was very small but there is an overflow carpark next to it. I had some concerns about accessibility as there is no lift which would be helpful for people with mobility issues. There is a porter on hand to help with luggage and the staff are also incredibly helpful.

Very clean, well appointed, comfortable and well maintained room. Great location We considered the hotel 4.5 stars for it’s overall appearance, furnishings and service. The Nespresso coffee machine capsules and chocolate luxury biscuits were an unexpected treat. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Not air-conditioning did pose sleeping issues. We had to open windows and this allowed noise into the room. A sensor light caused us to close the ensuite door which further reduced airflow.

The staff was exceptionally charming, warm and helpful throughout the whole hotel. Striking young piano player at the evening.

A bit old fashioned, which is charming but gave us the problem of being cold at night (old heating system, old windows). But: As media told us later it was especially cold at that time and the whole country of Ireland did suffer similar problems, so that might have happened at any place.

The hotel is located right downtown which is why we selected it. I found it somewhat pricy but with the addition of parking and the location, it was worth it for us. The beds were very comfortable and the room very nice. The breakfast (additional charge) was excellent and the young gentleman who served us both mornings (I'm sorry we didn't get his name) was so nice and remembered what we had ordered the previous morning. They have a lovely lounge/bar area also. Overall, an excellent hotel.
