The staff were all very nice, especially miss Leslie at the reception! The family room was very comfortable and relaxing, although a bit hard to access because of the many stairs. However the staff promptly helped us carry the baggage, so it was ok for us! I enjoyed the stay so much that I wish I could have stayed longer in Greville Arms Hotel. The hotel is conveniently well surrounded by transport, services and all kinds of stores and places to visit. People are very friendly in Mullingar, I definitely recommend it!

People staying at this hotel should be able to climb stairs to get to the room, otherwise it won't be as pleasant. The stair rails are lovely by the way.

The staff went out of their way to help us with organising a family lunch after an ashes committal ceremony at the Cemetery. Everything was just perfect. It's a very busy hotel but we could always find space for us all (a party of 7) to sit together. The first night we treated ourselves to a meal in the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious. There was no issue parking, even with a motorhome. The hotel is nicely located in the centre of Mullingar. The breakfast was terrific both mornings. There was plentiful scorching hot water and the shower was powerful.

The beds were somewhat firmer than we're used to.

Hotel was located in the centre. Lovely old style hotel. No lifts but that didn't throw us off our stay. Quite quirky hotel with a little museum on 2nd floor which we found interesting & a great surprise to our visit. Beds were completely comfortable, WiFi was perfect 👌 Hotel receptionist, a blonde lady, forgot to get her name was ever so helpful, greeted us so well & gave us loads of ideas on things to do around mullingar. She was such a lovely and chatty lady. Thank you. Made our stay feel so welcoming.

Can't fault anything. We ate in the bar area, food was lovely. We had chicken stir fry, fish & chips & pizza. Pizza was a huge portion and made fresh & came with chips. There crust was stuffed with tomato sauce 😋. Cocktails were spot on & not over priced like some places we had visited, that why we ordered 3 Cocktails & we enjoyed them. Well worth spoiling yourself to a cocktail 🥰.

A hasty booking resulted in a surprising treat.Interesting and beautiful historic hotel. Excellent staff throughout the hotel. Very comprehensive and good quality breakfast. Comfortable, clean and well equipped rooom.

Sadly, tables in the bar and restaurant were poorly cleaned round the edges and undersurface; last night’s drinks and snacks still not cleared the following morning in bars and public areas even by 10am on a Friday morning; upholstery on seating in some communal areas was dirty and off putting. Would stay again despite these negatives because we think they can be easily resolved when staff are aware of them.

Great location in center of the town. Old fashioned Hotel with nice Bars. Buffet breakfast was very good, everything seemed to be topped up frequently. Staff very friendly. Room (We had a Twin) was fine, not overly big but adequate. Bathroom had a bath with shower into the bath, the shower was REALLY powerful.

We stayed on a Thursday night. There was a comedy show on that seemed to be taking place in the courtyard under the bedroom windows. Maybe it was inside and with the really hot weather all of the doors and windows were open. It finished around11pm but there was quite a bit of noise up until 12. No big deal not too often that we need to leave the doors and windows open in Ireland. No issue for us but there are no lifts (Only two floors of bedrooms anyway) Anyone with mobility issues may have a problem.

The hotel was on the main street; At first sight it looked a bit scruffy but there were painters working outside. There was a private car park at the back of the hotel. It was very busy in the dining area with locals as well as guests. The food was lovely. Breakfast was outstanding. The staff were chatty and friendly. The room was lovely, although our view was of the car park. A lot of stairs to climb to get there.

There was no lift but we were offered help to get our luggage to our room on the second floor. Thinking about the layout of the hotel, I wouldn't know where they could put a lift to access all floors anyway.

Brilliant staff, so so accommodating! Best location, right in town and a mere 10 minutes walk from the train station. We moved from Bloomfield hotel after a night as the food there was bad and the place was too cut off, The Greville suited us perfectly! The food in Greville is so so good, breakfast served speedily too so everything still hot as we sat down. The fresh fruit salad was so so good, a far cry from the awful one in Bloomfield's. And it's great, so many different areas in the place so you don't feel bored if you're stuck in on a rainy day like we were!! Ulysses pub served a great Guinness, a huge thumbs up from my other half who is a bar-woman! A lovely vibe in there night and day too. The hotel itself is full of surprises, it's got alot of history. We found a museum of sorts located upstairs and a room with lots of old maps and books to peruse. Plus the staff were on the ball, helpful and friendly. We slept really well. I'd stay here again and again 👌

The bathroom was a little outdated,a little wear and tear visible but it was also clean and stocked full of provisions so not a big deal.

Food was excellent...great value for money Waiting staff were very helpful...breakfast girls couldnt do enough for you Receptionist was lovely aswell Our room was a 3bed large n spacious although on the 2nd floor plenty of steps was counted each day lol Location on the main street of the town is excellent about a 10 min walk from train station Very good value for money too

The lack of a lift in this hotel is a big negative as during my stay there was alot of older residents, there are lots of stairs throughout the hotel...luckily a member of staff carried up 2 of our bags to our 2nd floor room, toral of over 39 steps & long corridor The bathroom in our room could do with a major overhall, the tiles were a avocado green with flowers, the bath had been resprayed white but there was major peeling in the bath. Our heater in the bathroom didnt work & it felt like the north pole in there These were the only 2 negatives about this hotel

The breakfast staff were amazing. Not just to me, but to everyone who came in. The food was delicious. All of the artifacts around the hotel and pub are very interesting and add to the ambience. Taking a stroll around the shops was pleasurable and convenient.

Distance and stairs from reception to bedroom with bag and suitcase. Exhausting! To be fair, the receptionist did offer to collect my suitcase to take to room - but I declined - not realising how far it would be! I've emailed the hotel directly about some issues I had in room - but they will be resolved, so not worth mentioning in detail here.

Lovely old hotel famous for hosting and influencing one of Ireland's literary genius' (James Joyce). Dripping with character n charm: cosy , step back in time charm. Food was good (dinner) as was breakfast. Yes there are stairs and you could get lost in the place with all the nooks n crannies but that's what we loved about it

There are a lot of steps given the age of the hotel but not an issue for us, coffee at breakfast was cold n not the best. I would say it would be raucous at weekends due to its central location in town and bar which is very popular. Lots go there to eat so be prepared for the place to be busy with diners.
