Mayfair Darjeeling

Good location, friendly staff in restaurant and bar( most overall)./ Barman/manager exceptional, made sure everything was to my satisfaction, great attitude and personable. Thought what I paid was a little high, nice room but was particularly let down that it had no view.

No information pack in room, had to sort everything I wanted to do myself. Staff on reception not particularly helpful. Payment for room wanted upfront, have never come across this concept at home. I’m quite happy to pay if everything is exceptional at this standard of hotel.

The property is very scenic and well maintained. The front gate security personnel is very helpful and so is the reception.

The kids room is just for the sake of it. There are broken toys and empty trays. Also the staff is not attentive at the magnolia restaurant. I have had 3-4 instances where I have asked for something and the staff just forgot or ignored. Once for a coffee, once for water etc. the staff was busy chatting with other staff members.

The location is very convenient, a flat walk from the Chowrasta. The elevator down from the entrance to the reception level is most useful. Six bottles of water provided in the room. Someone going from room to room offering hot water bags was a nice gesture. Rooms are very clean and spacious. The display of photographs of Old Darjeeling was interesting.

On the 'wrong side' of the Mall and thus no views of the Kanchenjunga. Food is overpriced. The only view from the rooms is other buildings. No newspapers provided on any day during our three night stay though specially mentioned by the hotel as an amenity.

Location, property, ambiance, and land scaping in the hotel were really good. All the artifacts, beautifully collected from across the world were well kept. The best part was, within walking distance one could see the picturesque view of Kanchanjanga. The Mall is also at the walking distance.

The front desk ladies were too courteous and our accommodation received a free upgrade to a LUXURY SUITE named THE ROYAL ORCHID. The heritage Villa and modern personalisations made our stay the best !! The food, the location, the cars and especially the staff were too good and beyond all expectations! The housekeeping and the room service were fabulous and the special attention for the kids and the upscale maintenance of high-end luxury was worth every rupee spent. Too good and a must-stay place if you're looking for a luxury stay at Darjeeling.

Everything was perfect and there is nothing that I can mention as I didn't like. Mayfair Darjeeling is like a Royal palace in itself which can be enjoyed by each and every guest

Once inside the hotel, we found it very beautiful. The well trained staffs and their hospitality impressed us a lot. The happy tea hour between 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed the Darjeeling tea & Jhal muri. Room service was excellent. Travel Desk was very cooperating and efficient. Housekeeping is really commendable.

Great staff and compound gave an old-world feel. Poonam and Rudolph and all on staff were friendly, helpful and a pleasure to interact with. Room was spacious and thoughtfully appointed. Hot water bottle service, non-plastic drinking water bottles, and non-plastic bag, whole-leaf in-room local tea was appreciated. Good distance from the Mall - 5 minute walk. Food was solid, (we had only breakfast) with a variety available, tasty and fresh.

Room was a bit hot/stuffy in the late afternoon as ours was upper floor. Nearby construction was loud, dusty and could see into our room. Really bad air pollution impacted health and views.

The Mayfair is a great hotel to stay in. It has all the amenities for a very comfortable stay. The staff are very polite and very accommodating. The food at restaurant is good. The hotel os located within walking distance of The Mall. All in all we had a very comfortable stay.

The beauty of the hotel, surroundings and the room

I was very disappointed with communication between main office and the hotel, as full payment was made and the hotel did not receive the confirmation. We had to make numerous calls to rectify this and surprised at a five-star rating hotel to perform like this.

Its a beautiful property and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Everyone always has a smile on their face and is always ready to help. The property is gorgeous and very well maintained along with a restaurant that offers very tasty food. Its in the perfect location, as its 10mins walk from The Mall.
