Very friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent location to access the city centre and coast. Local food shop close to the hotel for snacks. I felt safe staying in this hotel as a solo female traveller. Great view from my room.

If eating alone at breakfast and leaving the table for further food and drink, your table may be taken by other guests or your table may be cleared by hotel staff. Table signage or a marker to indicate the table is in use may be something for the hotel to consider in the future. I was woken a couple of times by other guests who let their room doors slam. The hotel could consider a door softening device to help with this. Room decor and interior is not very modern.

During our week-long stay, we got everything we needed for a non-fussy holiday: a quiet, clean, and spacious room with the comfortable beds, a handy refrigerator, and a cozy dining area. The shower water has the specific eggy smell of Icelandic geothermal water, but we enjoyed it as a unique local feature. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet food was fresh, tasty and sufficiently varied. The hotel is conveniently located close to the city center and the port. Would definately stay again.

First of all, the location is fantastic. The main attractions of the city are within good walking distance, and various bus tours stop by here making it easy to participate in excursions. The staff are friendly and breakfast was good. View wise, you are right alongside the coast which if you get the right room, you can get an amazing view every morning! Would happily come here again based on our experience.

The rooms are very minimalist though this is the norm in Iceland. However, they could be updated slightly in particular more towel racks and updated carpets/general fixtures (massive crack in our sink). We did have some issues with noise, as the doors can be quite loud when closing and we could hear guests clearly from the rooms next to us. But this didn't ruin the travel, as we were out most of the time.

Great location. Nice view - we had window to fjord side and see a bit of sea :-) Since we had early flight we didn't book with breakfast so can't comment that. Staff was friendly. PS WiFi was free!

The hotel is in a good location, 15 mins walk from BSI bus station and close to the city centre main streets. Rooms were comfortable enough and with a view out to the coast. Staff were always helpful and the breakfast was excellent - given the general cost of things in Iceland I would say this was good value for money with breakfast included.

One of the rooms was a little small and appeared dated and in need of some attention - while I appreciate that hotels in Iceland tend to be more functional and minimalist than in some places, the sink had a crack in it which had clearly been there some time. It's worth noting that hot water in Reykjavik has an eggy smell as it's geothermal - not a criticism of the hotel as that issue is widespread

We stayed one night before our early flight home early next morning. Arrived about 4pm and found free parking space to front. Originally booked a 4 bed family room - but upgraded on check in to 6 bed family suite! On first floor above entrance portico with sitting area, double bedroom, 4 bunk bed room and shower room. Great room for our needs to repack. Great location within walking distance of centre - and friendly helpful staff.

Unfortunately shower controls broken so difficult to operate - and woken up several times in the night by people talking outside by entrance.

Breakfast was great, location also. The room was clean (and regularly cleaned) and functional. The staff was also helpful and well-informed. The bed was very comfortable and the linen and towels of very good quality. I appreciated the ecological measures adopted by the hotel, which did not impact my comfort at all.

I expected something better than a shower curtain at accommodation at this price range. The cleaning personnel seemed overworked. They twice forgot their stuff in the room, which was not a big issue, but I felt for them.

We were very happy with the size of our room as we needed to repack all our bags for our trip home, and needed to spread out. Also with 3 nights, it's nice to have some space. The fridge and microwave enabled us to heat our own meal one night and keep drinks cold. The bed was comfortable and shower was a lovely size. There was a table and chairs and sofa couch for watching TV. We only had breakfast one morning but there was a good variety with gf options available. It was a short walk to shops and attractions.

Breakfast was expensive. We always got a parking space when we needed one but there didn't seem to be many. The couch made some strange noises whe we sat down - meant to mention it at the time and forgot.

Excellent location just minutes from the center of town, parking is limited especially at weekends/evening so bear that in mind. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly with Happy Hour being a great addition. Breakfast was small but had a good selection, the food that was available was very fresh. We stayed in two different room both with same facilities, very clean, tea and coffee available and a nice amount of space but they do need updating decor wise. Loved that the rooms had recycling alongside normal rubbish collection.

Shower was TINY in both rooms, I am 5'10 and did struggle to wash properly.

Location was absolutely perfect to walk to everything and on the water - AMAZING! The shuttle stop is across the street. Staff were AMAZING and helpful. Breakfast buffet was delicious and 💯 worth it. Our suite room was GREAT - spacious, balcony, nice bathroom. Our standard room was very small and the bathroom was beyond tiny but beds very comfy in both. I used the teapot every night. A little fridge would have been nice however. The property is old but historical and we enjoy that. If you prefer new and modern - the sister property Foss Reykjavik down the road is more new, modern and Hilton like. Personal preference - we like historical. We did eat dinner (seafood buffet) at the sister property and it is HIGHLY recommended!!!

The standard room is a bit small, the single tiny shower is tough if you are a larger human - I would spend the extra and get a balcony suite for sure. There is also no conditioner (hair/body wash only) which isn’t uncommon in Europe but for long hair ladies - we need conditioner!! Otherwise it was great here and we have friends coming to stay in 3 weeks upon our recommendation.
