Stayed for 10 days vacation. Quiet, kinda secluded, no attractions like clubs or tourist traps - staycation is the only thing they offer. Great sea water pool, when I didn't want to deal with sand I swam there. Sea itself is clean and balmy on warm days. Beach is sandy mixed with cobbles, so I bought special footwear to prevent injury, admittedly a bit of an overkill. Sun loungers are free, beach towels - 10 euro returnable deposit. 2 restaurants - one for breakfast, one for dinner. Breakfast is buffet style, kinda basic, got a bit tired of it by the end. Dinner is a multicourse event. Soup+4 entrees+main dish+dessert. HUGE portions. Honestly, there were 2 of us and we were full with just splitting the entrees. Dessert is not on the menu though, so you have to ask for it, even though its included in the price. Rooms are very cozy, I liked the grotto vibe with white walls and covered balcony.

You have to pay additionally for any beverages, which is a rip-off 4 euros for a small bottle of iced tea? 3 euros for a 1l bottle of water??? Save yourself some money - go to the closest village shop - 12 BOTTLES of 1L water will cost you the same 3 euros. Plastic trash tends to accumulate on the beach itself and in thefirst 5 meters of water so it can be yucky to deal with.

For the shoulder season price, everything. We initially booked a 2 night stay and extended it for another night. The breakfast and buffet dinner was good with lots of variety. Buffet dinner had fish on menu. We didn’t enjoy the dinner at the restaurant as much as it was slightly salty for our taste. The 15min coastal walk to Voulisma beach was nice. Amazing view from the balcony. Overall a very relaxing stay.

Minor really, Wi-Fi and data was not good inside our room. We have to get out to the balcony or hangout next to the door.

Awesome location with its own beach, a small village up the way with cheap food, we all loved the pool and beach, staff were all excellent, great view, great price, great breakfast and dinner buffets. Our whole crew of 16 people loved it so we decided to stay an extra night. Very clean, overall an excellent value. Rooms were much more spacious than we expected and with a great bed setup for the many people in our party. They even gave us an extra room that happened to be adjoining one of ours.

The parking was a little tight since we were traveling with two minivans but we were able to make it work out. The water pressure in our bedroom toilet was a bit lacking, making it hard to flush down solid waste 😬 but I didn't hear that complaint from any of the other 4 rooms in our party. The hotel is slightly dated but the upkeep is so nice that you'd hardly notice. You can see they clearly take very good care of the property.

Perfect location, great view and the room, food, staff, pool all well above expectations. The selection of food for all meals were varied to meet all tastes and excellent presentation.

Unfortunately the immediate coastline was suffering from waste plastic bags and particles washing in with the tide.To the hotels full credit a man in a purpose built boat with contraption was employed to remove as much of the floating waste as possible during the day.A sterling effort to keep the beach clean throughout the day was witnessed.

Great view, large room with a wonderful terrace overseeing the gulf, very good food and service at the a-la-carte beach restaurant, well equipped hotel beach (no need to reserve, hotel guests only, free, possibility of water sports), good drinks at the bar, awesome public beach 3min away by car

Swimming pool is large but not well maintained, stay away from buffet launch (buffet dinner slightly better, but still much worse than the beach restaurant), rooms should be renovated

Location, location, location. The setting of this wonderful hotel is simply stunning. I nearly cried when I saw the view from the top terrace at reception - after 2 years of lockdown in England, to be stood at the top of this wonderful hotel looking out over the stunning bay, bright blue water, sunshine - it was almost overwhelming. I was there in June 22. It was such a wonderful week that I'm going back in two weeks time for another week before winter. This hotel isn't glitzy and glamourous - its a bit rustic, and simple and in places a bit worn. BUT I loved it for that - I loved the care the staff put in, I loved the character, the colours. And because it's so far from the airport (c. 1 hour by direct car) and it's not in a town location, it's peaceful and not full of children.

I booked at Istron Bay Hotel as our first holiday in almost 2 years (thanks to COVID) and our last holiday as just us two before we welcome a baby to our family. We booked a superior room with sea views - it was perfect. The hotel itself is quite secluded with its own pool and private beach. The breakfast was great and we only booked for breakfast so had lunch and dinner at the beach restaurant on site most days. Prices were very reasonable, food was good. Overall it was the perfect location for a relaxing babymoon! We felt very safe in terms of COVID policies and were very sad to head home to a dreary London!

We did the dinner buffet once - it wasn't nearly as good as the food from the restaurant so we were quite glad that we didn't opt for full board where we would have needed to do the buffet every night.

View, amphitheater-like hotel, all rooms with sea view, almost all rooms with large terraces. Our room, double superior, very large. Exceptional pool, large, clean, with salt water. Garden, sunbeds, free towels. The beach itself is big enough, clean . Restaurant on the beach, good food, not very many options. We had half board, we served meals in the restaurant upstairs, panoramic. Good food, quite varied, very efficient staff, nice, with a smile on their faces.

Wifi pretty bad in the rooms or lack of it. Morning coffee, any kind, very bad. The rooms are not cleaned until requested, not even the garbage is taken daily or the bathroom cleaning. The overall look is quite minimalist, for 3 maximum 4 stars.

The hotel has both rooms in the main building and villas. There is private beach, in a bay, very nice and clean, with sun umbrellas and beach beds free of charge. And a beach bar. You can walk about 15-20 mins to the village for restaurants and supermarkets. A bus stop is just at the entrance of the hotel (regional buses, to and Heraklion). The reception staff is very nice and eager to help with whatever you need.

Nothing to complain about. My stay has been very nice
