Hotel @Syngrou Fix

We stayed here for a week and had a room with a balcony view on the 5th floor overlooking Syngrou Fix road. The road itself is very busy but when the balcony doors are closed, the noise is fairly drowned out. The hotel staff are friendly and the hotel itself is clean. Breakfast is good with a variety of options but if you need stronger coffee, out the door to the left and you'll find 2 coffee shops. The rooftop was my favorite- it gives you a view of the Acropolis and you can see as far as the ocean. The location was great! We were around the locals but just a 15 minute walk to the Acropolis and Plaka. The metro was a block down and the bus stop was across the street. If you are planning on renting a car like we did, there is a parking garage across the street that costs 8 euros per day. Great local restaurants with great prices a block down, supermarket close by, and a bank with outside ATM as well in case you need to grab some euros instead of going to an exchange place. Syngrou Fix is very lit up and usually bustling with people so you won't feel unsafe walking from the ruins back to the hotel during the day or at night. We enjoyed our stay here, enjoyed the proximity to all the sites but also the distance from the tourist chaos.

Great central location close to the metro. Only one metro stop to Akropilis and two metro stops to Syntagma Square. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe in this neighbourhood. There are two very nice wine bars very close to the hotel. The hotel is also very close to the Bread Factory for a wide variety of baked goods, desserts, and light meals. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are clean. Great breakfast too.

Next to a noisy road but the rooms are quite soundproof. I missed two breakfasts because I had 6 am starts. Other hotels will generally pack you a sandwich to go but they were not able to.

The breakfast was incredible and the staff were very friendly at the front desk. Good location. Clean rooms.

The aircon couldn’t be changed to less than 26 degrees and I was sweating through the night. That is enough for me to not return to the hotel although everything else was great, the heat was unbearable.

The location was in walking distance of many of the attractions if you are in good shape. Cab from Ferry port was about €35 and from hotel to airport €45. We also walked to local restaurants easily, but were back shortly after dark. Some of the streets in the area look "iffy" for late night walkers. The breakfast buffet had lots of variety and was plentiful. Room was comfortable and we enjoyed the balcony though there is not room for a table and chairs. A walk in shower would have been great and I think some of the other rooms had them; as we age, it is more difficult to step over the side of a tub. (we are in our 60's) They also were kind enough to keep our luggage locked away on our last day since we had a few hours to burn after checkout time which was a generous NOON!

We noticed there was a hotel van, but it was not available for guests to take to the airport. I can only imagine it is for large groups who stay there? The elevator is very small, but it works and it beats taking the stairs with luggage!

This hotel is very nice and clean, staff are very helpful, rooms are clean and modern and has all amenities that you might need, the open buffet breakfast was very delicious and the amount of food was very good, various drinks to satisfy all tastes, the location is centralized nearby main streets, bus and metro stops. I read a lot of reviews regarding the rooms being noisy and this was something of a concern to me, but in reality I didn't experience any issues related to noise, in fact I was in a room with a balcony that is facing the main busy street and I didn't have any difficulty with noise. Overall a very positive experience.

I really enjoyed the breakfast, there was a good variety of foods to choose from (for vegetarians, like me too) and everything I tried was pretty tasty. The location is very convenient, right opposite Syngrou Fix (the historic building, that houses the National Museum of Contemporary Art- EMST today), very close to metro station and to the historic center, plus from the lounge on the sixth floor you're viewing Philopappos Hill and slightly the Acropolis as well as EMST. The comforts of the room were adequate, I wasn't missing anything, it was clean enough. The highlight though is the staff, everyone was very kind and helpful, they called a reliable taxi service for me, offered breakfast the day of my check in too, kept my stuff for safekeeping before check in and after checkout, provided information I needed and much more.

Since the last time I stayed with my mum in this hotel in January, the price for the same service has doubled and considering it was for one person this time, the cost has increased even more. Moreover I was a little less satisfied by the quality of the services provided than the last time. The room was smaller than the one we'd previously stayed in, which was not a problem as it was only me this time (was smaller than 18 sq m stated in the booking though).

Great breakfast, I have visited before and the breakfast was one reason for re-booking! Room was nice and big, but did pay for a large room with balcony. I really like the location, in nice neighbourhood with bars, restaurants, stuff going on, but not very touristy at all, but really close to Acropolis area. 5 mins walk to metro station.

I chose to pay a bit more to stay at this hotel and in a more expensive room, but not sure it constitutes really good value for money. There are other hotels in also interesting/well connected areas where you can get comparable rooms for less money, but you make your choices!

Friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was great. Loved the choice of cold cuts, baked goods, cheeses, yoghurt, and especially the fresh tomatoes, roast carrots, and eggs with green beans! Excellent location near the metro. It was very easy to get to the main attractions by metro and a 5 day metro card was only €8. The location is also safe. I am a solo female traveller and I felt very safe going out in the evening. There are two excellent wine bars close by with knowledgeable sommeliers albeit somewhat pricey small food portions.

Traffic noise from the busy road but the noise is mostly drowned out when windows closed.

Hotel is within walking distance from the old part of Athens. Great buffet breakfast. Free tea, coffee, milk, sugar and water bottles from reception. Very friendly, helpful staff and very approachable when we had a complaint. Comfortable double bed and pillows (2 pillows each). The room was a good size for two people.

Hotel is on a main road, so if you leave the windows open it's very noisy. Fixed shower head too low for tall people. The room was a bit dusty when we arrived and throughout our stay they ones forgot to clean our room. The hotel provides transport to /from airport, however the taxi driver drove very recklessly.

The location of the hotel was exceptional, it was very near to the archeological sites, just a walking distance. Also, the room was very clean. The staff were very helpful

The breakfast was delicious but it did not had a lot of options. Also, there were no refill for the finished ones. We did a very early check-out at 04:30am, and we asked the day before if it was possible to take our breakfast as a take away but the receptionist said that they start the restaurant service at 06:00am so they could not provide any breakfast meal earlier than this.
