Holiday Inn Express - Offenburg, an IHG Hotel

A quite new hotel and looks everywhere clean and perfect. Good size rooms (the queen size). Location is good, near to the station and about 10-15 min to the city centre. Rooms at the back have nice views on the hills but also the railways. But with the window closed you don't hear them. Overall the room is very quiet. Parking is available at the street or private behind the hotel for €10 a day. Breakfast is served downstairs and is good. Different breads, cereals, boiled eggs, a (American) pancake machine (!), fruits, juices and coffee and tea. Is served from 7.00-11.00. Friendly staff.

Perfect as usual. Holiday Inn Express is always an excellent choice for a short trip. My room was super clean and quiet, bed with pillow and duvet was unbelievebly comfy. As for breakfast I was hoping for a hot dish, like scrambled eggs but there were only pancakes that are not gluten free. However, big plus for gluten free crispy bread, tasty juices and take away option. I would highly recommend 😉

Pancakes as the only breakfast hot meal option. Small note: crispy gluten free bread (packed separately) was placed in the same box with crispy standard bread (shouldn't be 😉). The box is labeled as Gluten-free so be careful and check the ingredients

Very good hotel. The staff was very welcoming and made themselves available quickly whenever we needed them. The breakfast was very good and well managed by the staff. We've appreciated the little gifts for our daughter after breakfast ;) The rooms are nice the beds comfortable even the sofa bed. The housekeeping staff did a good job of respecting the "do not disturb" when we put it on the door. The rooms were well cleaned. The hotel is well located for exploring the surrounding German and French cities. Parking in the hotel parking lot is not for free. But there are free parking spaces around the hotel.

The breakfast is OK, but do not expect miracles. There were only cooked eggs and a small variety of everything else, but for a short and simple breakfast, it can be described as OK.

The location is such, that you will need to park the car on the parking of the hotel, but it can happen that you take the card, get in, realize that the hotel's parking space is full and then later, they will try to charge you for that 1-minute entrance to the parking space. The whole system with the parking is badly organized.

The location was excellent, just around 8-10 minutes walk from the Offenburg train station. The market is nearby, even the big stores are nearby. The hotel is at a quiet place. Staff is helpful. Hotel is clean. Breakfast is good too. They even did early check-in for us 2 hours before the normal time.

Nothing that we disliked. Maybe some options to eat in late evenings could be added to their services, as market closes early or sometimes as tourist you travel and get late.

Everything was very good. People in the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Late at the night the receptionist had also a role of a cook in the restaurant of the hotel and prepared a pizza for us. We enjoyed the restaurant and wine. If one tries to find some drawbacks, then for two adults and two children a room was a bit small. This was compensated by the huge hall in the ground floor, which children have liked. The facilities were very new and smartly organized, cattle with tea and coffee, iron with board, a huge smart TV, good wifi. The table was minimalistic, bigger table would not fit into the room. It seems that both the east side and west side have mountain view. I would expect that the east side view on Schwarzwald is especially spectacular. We had the west side view with a piece of ridge of Vosges on the horizon, but a milk factory was obscuring it a bit. The breakfast was abundant and tasty. The pancake machine was a lot of fun. A variety of sausages and cheese could be perhaps a bit wider. The location is in 10 min. of walk from the train and bus main station, the historical town center is in 5 min. farther. For the hotel itself, the rule was 2G (it was not clear from regulations immediately, we learned this directly in the hotel). More strict 2G+ rule was only for the breakfast and the restaurant areas. Next to the hotel there are a food supermarket and a test station. So we overcome 2G+ quite easy.

The hotel is conveniently located as it is only about 5 minutes away from the train station. And even though it is very close to it, it was very calm and we could not hear the trains at all. Also, the breakfast was absolutely outstanding: there were a lot of different products to choose from, and everything was really tasty. The staff was also very kind and helpful The room was really spacious and the bed was very comfortable

We were really surprised of how beautiful offenburg is! On our first day we took the car but for the rest of the trip we walked to the city center where all the shops and restaurants are. Staff was very kind and helpful. And we found easy free parking on the street near the hotel.

When walking after dark to the McDonald's just a few minutes away we felt a little unsafe. Other than that nothing to complain!

Modern, spacious ground floor with lots of spaces to relax, breakfast area integrated, basic but good choice of food. Rooms were very clean, modern and practical. TV was set up easy for music or movies, numerous stations for numerous nationalities.

Huge space around the Hotel, outside of City Centre, still have to pay for parking. Basic bathroom accessories supply, really not much bad about this place.

Clean and cosy space. Very comfortable bed. Private parking with enough parking spots (with parking fee). Tasty breakfast included. Greetings to the staff, especially to the Turkish receptionist 🇹🇷, friendly and welcoming person that helped us and made our stay better. The great staff is a big asset for a hotel.

Quite small room and wardrobe (especially for the guests that want to spend more than 1-2 nights). The restaurant should be reopened, because you don't have many options in the area. We wanted to have dinner, but because of covid restrictions, they only served precooked meals.
