King's Hotel First Class

I have travelled around the world to many conferences but never during a period of living with COVID and many airline operators and train companies in the UK being on strike. This made some of the logistics for my week trip difficult but the hotel was superb in accepting parcel deliveries for me and helping out with printing etc. The reception staff were so great - a perfect balance of professionalism , care and friendliness, Our twin air conditioned room on the 3rd floor was near the facilities room that had an iron, ice machine etc. Again superb as Munich had three days of a heatwave in June as well. We did not eat at the hotel but picked up sandwiches for breakfast each morning at the nearby central station . We ate locally or a few stops away on the metro. I highly recommend the two stops away Afghanistan restaurant called Chopan. There is a good selection of place to eat nearby , even for my wife who is a vegan. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This place looks better on the pictures, but it’s still pretty good especially, the location - close to everything. There is a comfortable bed, small desk and a chair, TV, espresso maker (Nespresso), capsules are provided as well as 2 bottles of water every day, fridge. bathroom is good size with. ice water pressure. our room was facing the inner yard, so it was very quiet, we slept with open window when it was not too hot. there is a bar and a restaurant downstairs, where they serve breakfast. but we did not purchase it. very secure area and the hotel.

The AC was very loud at some point, just making it clearer that the place is old. rooms are much smaller than I expected for a 4 star hotel. everything is automated (check-in/out), the guy did not even turn his head to us when we just arrived. but it all works out at the end. and the location beats everything else.

The location was very close to central station and well served by the city’s public transport. The staff were helpful, the room and bed were comfortable, wifi was strong and the breakfast was excellent. The room was quiet. One unusual feature is that we could control the temperature in our room. Other hotels often override the ability of guests to do this, making for uncomfortably over-heated rooms. I would recommend this hotel.

As part of the online checkin I was required to tick the box saying ‘I have read and agree to the hotel’s conditions’. These were hyperlinked, bit the link was broken. The staff member wanted me to tick the box anyway. She eventually agreed to print the conditions for me (8 pages,) but I had to restart the checkin process.

Fantastic hotel within 5 minutes walking distance of the main train station of Munich, making it very easy to get around the city on public transport. Rooms were very clean, with a comfortable bed, and a good shower. The AC worked perfectly too. Complimentary water (in the fridge) and some Haribo sweets in the room was a very nice touch also. We chose rooms with an interior courtyard view away from the main street based on some reviews we had read that it can be a little noisy in the evenings at weekends on the aforementioned main street. We had no issues sleeping and heard next to no noise, even from other rooms. Breakfast was very good, and kept on being restocked even towards the end of the serving period. The breakfast seating area is small if everybody came at once, but we had no issues each morning getting a table. The automated check in process wasn't as smooth as we would have liked and the machine didn't work when it came to putting in the card, however there was extremely friendly staff on hand to help get us checked in using an alternative means as well as a different card machine to take payment. Another special mention has to go to the barman. He remembered exactly what we had to drink the previous night and was also very friendly and attentive. I knew this beforehand, but it is worth noting that the hotel is totally cashless, even the bar. All in all, this was a superb hotel close to main transport connections, with great and helpful staff, for a price that didn't break the bank. Next time I come to Munich, this will be the first place I check for availability.

Staff very helpful and accommodating, breakfast was excellent with many choices, abundant and fresh. They even give you free bottled water in the room. There was a heatwave while we were there and the AC was very comfortable. If you opt to skip housekeeping and be "green" they give a $10 gift card to the bar or snack bar. The hotel is an easy walk from the central train station as well as old town and Englisher Garden. The neighborhood felt safe. We actually stayed at the hotel on 2 separate visits to Munich and we would definitely choose it again.

This is not the hotel's fault, but I would recommend booking a bigger room. We would have upgraded but none were available. The smaller room was still comfortable and clean. On our second visit we had a larger room which was very comfortable.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, we were upgraded to a King Suite from the double room (I think this was as we are genius level 2 with booking.com) The room was huge! The bed was also really big and very comfortable to sleep in. The breakfast buffet was delicious! Huge variety of food the the host was very kind and welcoming. I did however accidentally think the breakfast was included in our booking but I misread it. So we had to pay for the breakfast which was quite expensive, it cost us $67AUD which we didn’t realize would be so much. But that was our mistake.

We stayed for 4 nights from Thursday to Monday. The room was quiet, we didn't hear the street or neighbouring rooms at night. The staff were friendly and could speak English really well. Good location to train station, supermarkets, Turkish food, coffee and shops. You can choose to receive a 10€ hotel voucher in exchange to not have your room cleaned. We choose this option for 3 nights, so we had 30€ to spend on buffet breakfast. The buffet breakfast was 20€ per person. It's good but expensive for the quality. 1 day breakfast was 40€ for us... so we used 30€ in vouchers.

Buffet breakfast is good but expensive. The bathroom would smell if you left toilet seat open. The bathroom fan didn't work so we would have to leave the hotel window open during the day. Not a huge problem.

Nice sized rooms and two bottles of water waiting when we arrived. Sell refreshments very reasonably. Good location for the railway, airport bus and Marianplatz. We walked everywhere! Great incentive offered to not have housekeeping for stays of more than one night -Eur10 hotel credit offered per night which can become used in the bar or towards breakfast. If you need more towels or coffee supplies you can get them from an amenity room-brilliant! Barman incredibly friendly.

Fridge didn't work but no big deal; surrounding area is a bit grotty but that's the same anywhere in the world near a transport hub and is not something the hotel can control. Breakfast cost quite high.

The location is a 5 minute walk from the central train station in Munich, so getting around by train was very simple. Also you could walk to many popular places as well. You can get 10 Euro vouchers for not having your sheets and towels replaced every day. You can use these for the breakfast, room service, the bar or their snack center. We had the breakfast a few times and it was good.

The air conditioning was either set to heat or cold by the facility. You could not chose which one you wanted. We found the room to always be too warm or stuffy so we never turned it on. We had to manually regulate the temperature by opening and closing the windows day and night. It was often in the 40s outside.

Staff was super friendly. Room was very clean and quiet. Location was very good. When we wanted to be "Green gäste" so no cleaning needed for our 4 night stay we received a 10 € voucher to be used at the hotel bar for each day = 40 €. That was a positive surprise.

The window could not be opened so it was necessary to have the aircon on almost all the time and it was a bit noisy. Did not disturb us however. It was a bit difficult to climb to the shower about 30 cm higher that the floor and of course it could be slippery when wet. Some water from the shower even if it had the door closed dropped to the floor in font of the toilet so the floor was wet almost all the time there. We just had a towel on the floor all the time.
