Hotel bei Tante ALMA

Location was great! Staff was always friendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel was beautiful and welcoming.

I would have appreciated more notices in English or German. There were many notices in the kitchen designed for the Ukrainian guests, and I would have missed a lot of information if I did not take the time to translate.

The concept of Tante Alma is both a vintage and a hipster dream, and I have to say I really liked it. The whole of the ground floor, with its little performance space, game room, poker nook, tea room, etc... has been renovated to be "grandma style" in a way that is far from antiquated, but instead feels fun, cozy and instagrammable. The rooms need a bit more love to reach the same level of grandma atmosphere, but they will get there eventually: it is clear the hotel was a more banal type of place, and that the transformation into grandma heaven has not happened in all the rooms, but it just needs time. The room was a good size, lovely touches to tie in the whole theme and decent bathroom. Good value for money in a busy long weekend, and also decent location, close to the water tower.

Only minor downsides were that nobody came to clean the room during our stay: we did our bed on our own in the evening when we arrived. It is also a bit noisy if you keep the window open when it is hot. Final minor downside: some of the other guests felt really at home at the hotel. You could see them lounging on the sofas without shoes on. Maybe the cozy feeling here is pushed to slight excess and people are taking the grandma living room theme a little too literally!

A real gem. The room was clean, smart and functional, but the downstairs rooms were quirky and full of unusual features and character. Lovely antiques, old books and records and a fully laid out poker room! Breakfast was good, though access to the food would be crowded if the hotel were full. We got a particularly good deal as it was a public holiday, but we would have paid more and still been satisfied.

Friendly hotel. When windows closed no street noise anymore. Simple breakfast, don't expect too much, but there is enough like good bread, confiture, cheese and yoghurt and juice coffee tea. Room and bathroom were clean. As advertised, i recommend this hotel.

I missed airco, it was very hot outside and also in the room.

What a beautiful place! In a world of look alike things, this hotel makes you feel you in a one-of-a-kind place. The staff was super friendly and the room was perfect for my family. You basically need to pre book a parking spot, but over the weekend it was free to park near by.

This place is quirky and interesting with games rooms, lounges and all sorts. Our room was spacious, clean, comfy bed, complimentary tea and coffee, a v pleasant welcome and a short walk into downtown Mannheim or out into the nearby park. Great VFM

Nothing - would stay there again

Fantastic place, with very friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. The place itself is worth a visit and deserves more time than we had to give it. Comfortable walking distance to lots of restaurants and other facilities in the town centre of Mannheim.

the hotel was very original and had lots of decoration. thanks to the nice receptionist for providing our room early so we could dress for the wedding we were invited to.

the bathroom seemed not too clean

The breakfast was not much, mostly cheese and meat with nothing original for a place that is supposed to have an original identity. We might expect something such as more vegetables and original drinks that will go with the style of the place.

The best hotel in Mannheim! The staff is so courteous and the hotel has an amazing interior and experience with salon, billiards room, play room with foozball and snooker.
