Ibis budget Verdun

Quick and efficient check-in by friendly receptionist, clean room, very comfortable bed, well-lit car park, no unreasonable noise, reasonable choice of continental breakfast

My (modern, updated) GPS didn't find the address easily (it's in a large retail park) but eventually found it. There was only a plastic stool (with no back) to sit on at the sitting area in the room.

Great budget hotel that almost does what it says on the tin. Rooms are basic and functional, as expected - you don't book an Ibis Budget if you want lots of character. Location is practical, on a trading estate with own parking which is perfect for visiting this area as due to the nature of the local sights a car is essential. It met our expectations perfectly. A good range at breakfast, from warm buttery croissants to yoghurt, fruit and hot drinks. A short walk from a lovely Italian restaurant which was ideal for eating out in the evening.

The only thing that was a little frustrating was the lack of wifi, which was advertised as being available. It wasn't. Not a problem as long as expectations are managed.

couldn't check in till five which when you've been riding all day in plus 30 heat was not good we didn't pay for breakfast as it wasn't very good value for money

If you rate according to what you can expect, it’s perfect. Close to the route, clean, simple. Lovely showers and good bed. We stayed over for one night while traveling with small kids. Check in late, check out early. Had breakfast in cute place in Verdun nearby. Was perfect.

We arrived late and our reservation did not show up in the access computer. Then you miss reception :) lady at emergency button was helpful in the end… but it took a while with a lot of “you did not make a reservation…(yes we did…. I have a confirmation number here) and “you have to speak French to me”

Great location near the motorway, easy parking for our van, fantastic restaurant just up the road.

I have never had a hotel room with the washbasin in the bedroom and the loo in what can only be described as a cupboard! You almost had to reverse into it it was so small. The shower was another cupboard, with a plastic door.

was required a credit card. Necessarily a visa. I didn't have one, the lady didn't want to accept a mastercard. As a result, I paid the master and visa ( of my friend )took the number for security. Big minus for no cash operations. Personel barely talk englisch.

Generally surly/condescending/ not pleasant staff. “While we may not speak the same language, a SMILE IS UNDERSTOOD IN EVERY LANGUAGE”. They should try it. Toilet room was smelly, not clean.

basic but functional. I like the key code for rooms and thought the ice cream cones for breakfast jams to be a great innovation. great!

Price was just right. Close to Verdun Memorial. Great location near the city of Verdun. Food nearby. Great for kids and pet friendly.

Value for money, no thrills, comfortable hotel room. Decent enough breakfast. Great for an overnight or very short stay in the Verdun area.

Nothing to dislike.
