This chance to stay in a 600 year old Chateau was amazing. The owner gave us a very warm welcome. Breakfast was good. We stayed in the suite on the second floor. The room was large with views all around the extensive grounds. The bed was comfortable and the room well equipped, the spacious bathroom located in the turret had stained glass windows and grey marble suite. We were able to look around this huge piece of history - we were in awe of the many interesting features. It was a pleasure to experience this visit. Thank you for this great opportunity.

If you like quirky and unique then this is an opportunity not to be missed. We were pleased to have selected this room. Access by the spiral stairs or the quaint and ‘cosy’ lift.

Unbeatable, fabulous location. The chateau is magnificent! Room and en-suite were huge!! The owner met us, he was lovely, helpful and welcoming. Great breakfast, although on third morning a bit more variety on offer would have been nice. Small things....the huge chateau must be hard to keep clean, it wasa bit dusty here and there. Huge room, standard sized French double bed...the huge room can accommodate and would benefit from bigger furniture and a sofa or armchair to sit on. Otherwise, perfect!

The chateau, actually a fortress from the 14th century, is absolutely magnificent. Te owner as filled it with beautiful antique furniture including real knights' coat of armour from the Middle Ages. Tere were ten beautiful peacocks strutting around in the grounds. I particularly enjoyed walking up the magnificent avenue of chestnut trees. Our host drove to the baker's every morning to fetch fresh croissants and pains au chocolat for breakfast. Our room was huge with a magnificent double bed, easy chairs, dining room table and chairs and a huge beautifully appointed bathroom overlooking the moat. From the toilet there was an arrow slit which gave you a view on to the moat and from which in the tiles of a siege you could fire arrows at the attacking forces trying to cross te moat. An unforgettable adventure for us. Our praise to the owner for keeping the castle in such good shape.

Everything exceeded our expectations

Very nice old stone castle with a lot of original things inside. We sleept in Helene's appartment and we realy felt like old times roialty. I recomand it for people who apreciate the history and the value of the castle.

Not a lot of things to do on the property, the bideu from the toillet didn't work and the hot water finished befor washing my doughter's hair,(but it's an very old castle). Breackfast was disapointting, we expected more than croissant and gem and there is no restaurant on the property.

The location of the chateau does require you to drive into the town for dinner, but this accommodation is amazing! There is a pool and jacuzzi for no extra charge as well as a small boat that can be rowed in the lake (we did this, lots of fun!). The owner speaks a little English and explained to us that while there it was our home and we could go anywhere. There are some truly amazing rooms here! Our bedroom was very comfortable, no shower but there was a bath. Breakfast was plentiful. Dogs are welcome and the price was very good!

A shower over the bath.

A beautiful old chateau with fascinating rooms. The whole place exuded history. The owner told us that Alexandre Dumas had stayed there. Our room was Athos. The park and lake were lovely. Excellent large indoor pool. Great breakfast.
