Hotel cardinal

Great location. Be warned that you cannot drive to the hotel as it sits in an area off the main streets. Best to find parking in the area and then walk. We used underground parking and the walk was about 8 minutes from car to hotel.

Room did not have the following: refrigerator, ability to make morning coffee, any type of fan or air circulation. To keep the room cool we had to keep windows open and this resulted in outside noise, especially in the morning when trash trucks came through the area.

Location is unbelievable, closest property to the tallest cathedral in France. Easy access to all the medieval streets and buildings, nice restaurants outside the hotel in the square, but miles of options in the town. The catherdral light show takes place outside the hotel every night which provides a great atmosphere. The hotel was impressively clean and tastfully decorated. Probably an obvious characteristic, but the big catherdal as a very large and loud bell that sounds at 8:00am. Saves setting an alarm clock.

The hotel reception was partially covered but provisions were made for late night access. Not a real negative for us. The brand new lift was very effect but a bit small.

We loved that Hotel Cardinal was in an excellent location - close to all the sites we had planned to visit. It was a bonus that there are 2 small restaurants with outside seating right outside the front entrance to the hotel. Our view of the cathedral was exceptional and we were in a suite with a nice sitting area and separate bedroom. Outside our windows were several decks with seating to enjoy the scenery and have a small meal. Very inviting hotel environment, with helpful staff. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Breakfast was plentiful with many options and excellent coffee and pastries.

Only a suggestion, but not a negative - it would be helpful to know just how to operate the shower as didn't do so correctly and on the last day, had difficulty with hot water. It was no fault of the hotel's. A quick lesson would be helpful.

Amazing location and nice clean rooms, ours had a view of the cathedral and the light show on it. Friendly staff. We could walk into all the old streets and to the old market to find loads of great restaurants. All the family agreed that this would be a hotel we would stay at again.

There is no onsite parking but the public car park is really close by. We loved the location but there can be some noise from the square below so this could be a problem if you need complete quiet to sleep. It didn’t bother us.

Great location, very nice staff. This was sort of like a little penzione - only 15 rooms, and located on Cathedral Square. Room was fairly small, but functional.

It was pretty hard and stressful to find in the car. You might want to call the hotel if you're driving and get their instructions and advice on where to park. Room was small, but clean and pretty well organized. There was some noise at night because of where we were, but that wasn't too bad. Overall, a very good stay.

The location is wonderful, with views over the cathedral and a good car park nearby. Lovely big bath although it took hours to fill!

Would have been nice to have a kettle in the room. Although there are excellent cafes and restaurants adjacent, the hotel is essentially just a collection of bedrooms. One lady on reception

The location was central in the Old City with a point blank view of the cathedral. The room was very clean and quiet, and the bed and bedding were very comfortable. The added breakfast option was delicious. The host and staff were very helpful and friendly, especially with arranging taxi pick-ups.

Very well-located, access to cathedral son et lumiere was divine, comfortable bed, great shower with hot water

I missed the fact there was no air con, so tough night in hot summer because you have to leave window open—mosquitos buzzing and cathedral plaza very noisy with partiers until the wee hours!

I didn't partake in breakfast, although it looked fabulous. The proprietor is so kind, the facilities comfortable and very clean, and the location is superb.

My first night was overbooked, so they had to find me a new place, just for the one night. Very nice. And it worked out well...then I came back for the next two nights, to the Hotel Cardinal.

the location of the boutique Hotel Cardinal was lovely, with an amazing view of the Rouen Cathedral. It’s an old building but beautifully updated. The staff was really nice, and we felt very comfortable on our weekend stay. The location was handy to all of the sights.
