Chateau de Montvillargenne

I am coeliac and very intolerant of gluten so I can become very unwell if I eat gluten or foods that have come in contact with gluten.I would have liked more guidance and information on the breakfast buffet as to what was gluten free. Many foods which don’t contain gluten naturally can pick up traces of gluten during processing or in preparation in the kitchen. Any contact with gluten containing foods through using the same utensils or chopping boards for example would be enough to make me ill. The manager at dinner the previous evening seemed to be very well informed about coeliacs and was especially helpful.

Dinner was delicious . The terrace surrounded by trees was wonderful setting for dining and relaxing .

We were there to see the château de Chantilly. This was a wonderful place to stay, from the long driveway to the great location. The bar was very nice. Had dinner there on Sunday night as that is when their restaurant was closed. Fabulous charcuterie board! Dinner on the terrace Saturday night was also incredible.

No air conditioning. I knew it and it was only a problem the first night. There was a fan in the room. The second night it was cold. Open windows are great. Pool was being remodeled. We also knew this beforehand.

Beds were average and rooms a little stuffy. Toilet and bathroom quite small

We had an amazing stay in the chateau! Authentic atmosphere, beautiful view from the window, comfortable rooms, nice bathroom, freshly renovated swimming pool with warm water. Very friendly staff. Special thank you to the receptionists who were working on 24.07 and helped us to order flowers as a surprise! Thank you so much! ✨

It is a beautiful hotel in and out. The staff is very polite and caring. The room is clean. I love the macarons and water in the room. Very pleasant stay..

Breakfast was overpriced at 20€ and very basic. Wait at the bar was at least 30 minutes before the waiter took our drink and food order.

Location, ambiance, room location, views.... Dinner in the evening was very good, service was excellent. It was 29 years ago I first visited the hotel, I had organised a conference there, it was a great success. So this was a pilgramage of sorts...

Breakfast was too expensive to have.

The upgrade meant we had a beautiful room, extremely spacious, with a lovely balcony, separate setting area and wardrobe space, big TV, everything we needed (except perhaps for air conditioning). The swimming pool was a great bonus too.

The restaurant was closed for our stay, which was a pity - it might be best to check this before booking if you would like to try it.

Staff were helpful and friendly. The main restaurant was closed on Sunday night but the bar food was very good. The location was good for our trip home from the South of France and Chantilly is a lovely area.

Gym was not great and shower in the room wasn't the most powerful.

Everything apart from the little midget behind the bar.. Found him to be very very rude and and because me and my friend were over 6ft we felt this brought his inferiority complex to the fore. It may well be that he would benefit from a good pair of Cuban heels or maybe a small 12 inch plinth to aid him creating the illusion he was a fully grown man.

The chateau is beautiful & the location is very peaceful. Its an ideal small French town. Perfect for a weekend relaxation. The staff is very friendly & accomodating.

No air conditioner in summer is the only negative. We had to open our windows to get some air.
