Hotel la Caravelle

Very friendly, helpful desk staff. Check-in and out were quick and easy. The location is wonderful. Walking distance to all the amazing sites in Bonifacio. Right on the Marina, with shops and restaurants all around. Having a gated car park adjacent at no extra cost was excellent. We arrived in the morning but could use the car park even before check-in. Room had tea and coffee making facilities. Unlike some reviews, we had no issues at all with noise. We did have a room in the center of the building, so that may have helped, although it meant we had no sea view. Small compromise 😀 .

Location, location, location - the best thing about this property!!! I think it is a little too pricey for the size of the room and breakfast not being included, but again you are paying for the location. It is located right in the middle of the busy port with so many great restaurants and views. You walk right outside of the back of the hotel and you’re in the middle of everything. Another great thing about this hotel is the PRIVATE parking lot with FREE charging stations for your rental car! That was an extreme plus for me so you do not have to park miles away from your car and walk to the hotel. Reception ladies were very nice and helpful also. I was in room 314 with a harbor view and it was really nice to look out at the port and watch out the window. The beds were comfortable, WiFi was great, and the shower was nice and big!! There is a HUGE downfall to this room and having the harbor view. Please see below in the “didn’t like” section.

The biggest downfall of this room AND being on the harbor side of the hotel is the EXTREMELY loud club, B52, which is located right beneath this hotel. The loud DJ starts around 10:30PM and does not end until 2:00AM!!!!! The loud bass and music is truthfully unbearable. I had 2 sleepless nights out of my 3 night stay. They provide ear plugs in the room but let’s face it - you still don’t get a good nights rest. Avoid the harbor view rooms at all costs if you stay at this hotel - unless you are joining the party downstairs LOL.

The location was perfect for me, coming off the ferry. Super close to everything important. The room was a bit dated, but adequate. First time I have ever had earplugs provided - but I didn't need them, the sidewalk noise was charming. Great staff at reception- she was very personable, and excellent at advising me about the bus to Adjaccio. I really wish I could have stayed the 2 days as booked - but you can't beat a cyclone.

Not being clear about who is refunding me for the first night booked that I cancelled, due to the cyclone that hit the area that stopped the ferry, and forced me to spend an additional night in Olbia. I was told on the phone by Booking.com, that I would get the refund to my Visa, but nothing yet.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect - on the pier, with free parking, and walking distance to the old town. We loved the wine bar downstairs and enjoyed the atmosphere from the neighbouring nightclub (which is quiet after 1am). However, this might not be so entertaining if staying for a longer period. A memorable experience!

The rooms are pretty shabby at the price. There were bottles of wine/beer offered as a sort of minibar but no fridge in the room.

Private gated parking opposite the hotel. A very warm, friendly top class welcome. Lift to the ground floor takes you straight out to the harbor promenade with all the restaurants, bars and shops. From there it's a short walk up to the Citadel with its splendid views. Our room also had a fabulous view over the harbor with all the lovely yachts. Location could not have been better!

Nice location, the hotel has two very practical entrances (one towards the marina, one towards the citadel) and a parking lot.

Our room had no view and the door to the corridor was not sound proof so that we could listen to an entire conversation of people talking outside of our room.

The Corsica location was very lovely! Parking worked out just across the street, but the front desk receptionist needs to press the button. The room was fine and the bathroom was huge! The Restaurant food was good and there were a lot of nice shops by the water! The La Bastion family restaurant at the top of the steep stairs was wonderful. We rented a BMW that we brought across from Sardinia on the ferry. It was tough to drive around the very narrow streets of Bonifacio.

Very uneven floors in the hallways . Pretty hard hard bed, but Italians seem to like beds hard.

The location was great and the hotel was very lovely.

The rooms on the port side have a beautiful view but they are very noisey at night. But they warn you of this and they also provide ear plugs

Amazing location, right on to the pier. Extremely useful parking on the back of the hotel, just acroos the road from the reception on the top floor.

Somewhat noisy from 10pm to 2am, as the room was facing right on the B52 night club. The window provides good insulation, but some noise still gets through. The lift does not reach all rooms: the Nina, Pinta and Sanat Maria are connected by some narrow stairs, and the reception on the top floor has half a flight of steps.

Wonderful location right near the ferry exit and convenient to both the Harbour and Haut Ville parts of Bonifacio. Super parking lot with lots of shade right near the hotel!
