Hôtel Saint-Julien

As a solo female traveler traveling by train, this was an excellent hotel. It was about a 15 minute walk from the Angers train station. It is absolutely central in Angers and close to everything, including a large square surrounded by cafes and restaurants. I liked very much that they had an early check-in time. I treated myself to a room with a terrace and it was large and faced the Place du Ralliement but it had good doors which when closed kept the room safe and quiet. I slept well in the firm bed. The room had a hotpot and an espresso machine, which was fantastic. The breakfast was very good. The best part of the hotel was the "vibe." The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made me feel at home. They showed me the bar and encouraged me to come to the 80s party, but I wasn't feeling great and so slept instead (I was afraid I would hear the party but I didn't hear a thing). I would definitely stay here again. Angers is a fantastic, lively city of great historic interest, and the Hotel St Julien is the perfect base from which to enjoy it.

I keep complaining about the scrambled eggs in France. That is one thing that needs improvement. Everything else about the breakfast and the hotel in general was great!

All of the staff were incredibly friendly, polite, professional and helpful. The location was perfect, car parks nearby and right next to plenty of shops and food. The lobby and bar area was nicely decorated. The room itself was good for the price. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

The room had a big standalone aircon unit which really helped with the temperature but was a bit too loud to leave on overnight unfortunately. The room we stayed in was clean but maybe a little bit small and outdated.

The location is excellent and the staff most helpful. It is on a busy square in the town centre but although our room fronted the square it was quiet. As well as near many restaurants and bars the Cathedral and the Chateau are within easy walking distance, must visit Chateau home of the Apocalypse Tapestry.

Not so much did not like but although my GPS accepted the address of the hotel you cannot approach it by car. You should head for Parking Ralliement, a large underground car park close to hotel, downside is it costs 20 Euros per day.

The Hotel is in the main square in the Ralliement area of Angers. Perfect for exploring the old part of the City as well as shopping, bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly. Our room was excellent with a small terrace overlooking the Square. Free Non Alcoholic Cocktail on first evening was a nice surprise. Easy walk to the Cathedral, Chateau etc. Great value. Nespresso Coffee machine was a bonus.

Leaking shower and though the Coffee Machine was a bonus why was there no teaspoon to stir my coffee!! Small picky points but attention to detail?

The location is perfect for visiting the city and for the underground carpark and the breakfast is a very good continental one and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was small but had everything you need with a very good shower but we felt the dark painted walls although very smart made the room seem smaller than it was.

The hotel is incredibly well located for central Angers, which if you’ve never visited has a great evening cafe culture, lots of beautiful independent shops and just a really nice vibe about the city. The staff were very friendly throughout our stay.

The one bit of feedback, and it’s not a complaint, that I’d provide is that but would be good to have a small kettle with a selection of teas and coffee in the rooms.

The property was very chic and in a fantastic location. We arrived around 9pm because of delays on our route and were given a warm and friendly greeting. We had a family room which has an enormous bathroom, the kids loved it. The location is excellent - lovely views over the square in the morning. We were only passing through Angers so didn’t have time to make the most of our stay but we would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Really lovely, helpful staff. Excellent location right in the centre of Angers and with a reasonably priced car park on the doorstep. Rooms were nicely decorated but a bit tired but for the price it was excellent value for money. Breakfast was also great as was the bar!! Absolutely loved it!

The staff was impeccably professional and friendly and made themselves available to help us with the details of our stay. The location was ideal and the building was beautiful.

The lights on timers went off too quickly, and we found ourselves needing to scramble for our cellphone flashlight from time to time. The option of a shower curtain would have been nice.

The location is INCREDIBLE! On the central square, close to bars, restaurants and shops. The staff were all amazing, helpful, friendly and patient.

The room was clean, but a little tired, carpet was a bit stained. Could do with a lick of paint. Nevertheless, very comfortable.
