Hotel Arco Iris

One Word: RICHARD! The owner of the hotel, Richard, is amazing! He is there to help with anything you need and he makes you feel like family. The rooms are nice and simple. Nothing too fancy but everything you need. The grounds outside are BEAUTIFUL! We got some amazing photos at this location! We loved sitting in our hammock in front of our room during the hottest part of the day. It's in a really nice part of town. It's just a quick walk to all shops, restaurants, and the beach. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you so much for everything! We would definitely come back and visit again!

Everything was amazing!

Grounds were pretty. Staff was great and accommodating. I liked that coffee was ready by 5:45 AM--it was even poured for me! Felt very secure.

My ONE pet peeve is that the owner seems to like to mill around and talk to his staff in a loud, boomy voice. And at times he went on and on. We old folks like to nap and in the afternoon I had to give up. It happened again at about 9:30 at night. I realize the need to converse with staff, but (assuming nothing is wrong, and it sounded more like just shooting the breeze) away from the rooms, please, and at normal conversation level, not like talking to a deaf person!

This hotel is so well maintained and wonderfully staffed, and the location is exceptional while still being extremely private and quiet. The breakfast was phenomenal too—restaurant quality sit-down breakfast for free. As someone who has long-since acclimated to the DIY hotel breakfast, it was such a treat. The owner is receptive and active and everything is kept extremely clean. The people who work here take great pride in the pristine space they have created. The hotel is actually off of Tamarindo's beaten path, but has a walkway to the main strip. That means it's quiet all hours of the day. We were so satisfied and happy we'd chosen Hotel Arco Iris! Well worth the money.

The location was perfect, off the main road leading to downtown Tamarindo, but less than a mile to all the restaurants, bars, and shopping. Bed and room generally were also very comfortable

Wasn't a very lively vibe, maybe because we were there in the offseason. We would regularly be the only ones at the pool, and the owner's always there talking business with the staff.

Location was really good. In the town, but away from any noise. Lovely quiet bungalow. Room was maybe a bit on the small side, but enough, and bigger rooms available if needed. Hammock outside the room was great and we had more than 40 wi ks in that. Staff and owners very friendly and always had time to talk, free spanish lessons from Steve at breakfast, bonus.

Room was quite close to the kitchen, so a bit of noise from there, but nothing extreme and all quiet from 10pm in any case. And nothing I would complain about.

See above Nothing negative comes to mind Probably would be better if restaurant wasnt separately run. I didn't get discount advertised but menu and food were excellent. Service fine but not a place to eat if in a hurry.

I found my stay here to relax and recuperate perfect. Staff are friendly, helpful, professional. Also very respectful of privacy. I changed rooms for personal reasons but both were spotless with all the amenities needed for comfortable stay. Very nice bungalow style hotel (only about a dozen rooms). Located 5 minutes walk to town centre via a side entrance. 10 to 15 min walk to surfing beach depending which area. Clean & secure with friendly English speaking staff. Nice pool next to breakfast/restaurant area. Excellent quality breakfast included with our room. The well respected restaurant operates under the name “Seasons” which is open to non residents. The food is superb.

Our room was clean and well appointed. Daily breakfast was terrific: plenty of choices and cheerful, attentive service. Hotel staff was very helpful with arranging transportation and giving advice on what to do and where to visit.

Sorry to see the restaurant no longer serves dinner, only breakfast.

The garden was very well maintained The pool was clean and had a decent temperature Beds were comfy Dinner in the restaurant SEASONS, which belongs to the hotel, was very delicious Very close to main part of Tama and max 10 minutes walking distance to the beach Last but not least - the receptionist Carlos was an angel!! Always super friendly and helpful!!

There were quite a few lights shining at night from the adjacent verandas, when people didn't put them off. Also there was some light in the garden. Would be nice to turn them off automatically at e.g. 0am

I lovee this place! It was like staying in a cool-kid tree-house bungalow type place minus the tree and the bugs! The pool was the perfect temperature, staff was friendly, the location CANNOT be beat. The location was great because it was super close to everything but off the main roads for quiet. Tamarindo is a noisy town and this hotel was very quiet, calm and serene. We met the owner randomly and he was very kind and welcoming. We didnt eat here but the restaurant seemed very popular and was quite busy in the evening. Our bed was a bit firm but otherwise good, and the AC worked well. The bathroom was nice. Shampoo, lotion, conditioner, handwash, fresh towels (and extras), as well as a full-size blowdryer were provided. A safe is also included. TV was not a smart TV so limited channels for when you need a break from the heat.

Breakfast not included due to "COVID" but all our other hotels in CR had breakfast. Lame.
