The Downtown, a Coast Hotel

The staff were excellent. Especially Rasika. She sorted out our complicated room bookings when some family arrived late due to flight cancellations. She also saw a local Facebook post about my lost credit card and had it brought directly to the hotel for me to pick up. The beds were very comfortable and the room was great and quiet. Loved having a fridge in the room as well as microwave and Starbucks coffee. Location in town was fabulous. Food was good in the bar as well. Great place to stay.

They need to replace the tub and sink that both looked very worn.

Location is great, bed even though a bit noisy was comfy, shower was fantastic, hot water and a lot of pressure. This Hotel is very nice.

The hallway is quite nosy, so at night you might hear the unconsiderate other guests and no breakfast 3 days per week, need to find another location. Breakfast offered (when open) is very small, although good, but could definitely use more choice...and what happened to the sourdough pancake. An institution there that seems to have been lost unfortunately.

Such a treat to stay in this restored old building. My room was a modern renovated one on the ground floor of their annex, across the street from the main hotel. The breakfast was excellent! The location is right in the centre of downtown, so walking distance to everything.

I didn't mind, but a caution to those with mobility issues: the access to the building is a fairly steep stairway from the boardwalk.

Perfect location to explore Dawson City. Beautiful large room with two double beds. I requested a single and was peasantly surprised. Laundry facilities were very welcome. The free shuttle from the airport was a nice bonus.

My stay was really very enjoyable. I can't think of any improvements.

staff was extremely friendly and helpful. my husband is disabled and walks with a walker. staff was so helpful whenever I asked about anything! they allowed us to use a back door which had a ramp right down to where we parked. I was helped with our luggage. they allowed us to check in several hours early when we arrived in town.

There are two buildings for this property - one is the old hotel and the other, an annex across the road. We were in the annex. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Had a small fridge and ice machine in the foyer. It is in the centre of town, although it is a small town.

The sink was in the main room with a very small bathroom.

Dawson City is a small town or about 1300 people. Being in the sub-arctic tundra, the roads are not paved (difficult to maintain), but the hotel is a historical building arguably the best hotel in town with all the amenities - right in the center of town. The in-house restaurant itself is not open on all days, but we did have breakfast and dinner once and the quality of food was second to none. As my family and I are vegetarians, we were a bit worried if restaurants in this remote region cater to vegetarians and vegans... but they did! The rooms were quite spacious, the bathrooms clean and the beds comfortable. The staff were superb. They went out of their way to help out and were very friendly - as are most town people. We even borrowed a flashlight from them when we went out in the middle of the night to watch Northern Lights.

The network connection was sketchy. However, considering the remote location, it is probably not worth complaining about, and one should be happy that a connection is available at all. We wished the restaurants were open on all days - at least to guests staying at the hotel.

Right in the centre of Dawson city.

It's a bit dated but that's the way they want it...it helps keep it more authentic.. I was there twice...Once in the middle of winter and it was lovely and cosy and again in Msy when the snow and frost was gone and it was nice and cool

Loved the beautifully maintained building - very photogenic. Also loved the location in the most convenient part of town. The staff were very helpful in accommodating our early arrival. The Saloon was fabulous - good food an entertaining

Big room, shower, comfy beds, seating and coffee in a great location. Let us store bags while we went sightseeing after checking out, had an airport shuttle and laminated the Sour Toe certificate for a small charge. Great staff.
