Holiday Inn Express Whitby Oshawa, an IHG Hotel

We enjoyed the pool. It was warm and fun to swim in. We also enjoyed the free breakfast, cleanliness of the room and proximity to the highway.

Our room was located directly across from the ice machine on the first floor and it was noisy. The LIVE tv option was difficult to navigate.

Easy location, with good parking. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice large bathroom/shower. I would stay again.

I reserved a room with 2 Queen beds prior to date of arrival, but when I checked in just after 3 pm (check in time), they said they didn't have that room for me. They said they "upgraded" me to a suite. Which meant: only one bed (now a king) and a pull out couch. Which isn't an upgrade when it's the same size room but now had less "beds". It was actually a down grade for us. I needed 2 beds as I had an injured child with a leg in a full leg brace with me, who needed her own bed to protect her injury. So, one of us had to end up on an uncomfortable pull out couch, rather than a comfortable bed I had reserved.

Great location off the highway. A few food choices right across the street which was nice. The hotel staff was pleasant. Check in was really quick. Room had lots of lighting and beds are super comfy. Our room faced the road so we could hear a bit of the traffic but we didn't mind it one bit. Breakfast that was included was awesome, one of the best free breakfasts I've seen in a long time. Very clean and tidy also in the sitting area and food area.

We found it odd we didn't have hand soap/bar of soap to wash our hands after using the washroom. Only thing provided, apart from the bottles mounted on the wall inside the shower, was a small bottle of body lotion. Not sure if this is typical or not but hand soap would of been appreciated. Also, the one towel we had looked like our puppy had got too it earlier. It definitely had seen better days, all ripped up and coming undone, but again we laughed about it and didn't let it bother us. Minor things honestly.

This hotel was conveniently located with options for dinner right across the street. We booked a suite and a room for our family's stay. Our rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet had a variety of options. Overall, the rooms were quiet though there were some "odd" noises at certain times of the early morning.

The sofa bed was really uncomfortable, but it was OK since it was only for one night. It would have been nice to have an additional duvet tucked away for use on the sofa bed, but with the ability to change the room temperature I wasn't cold.

The location was good next to a bunch of different restaurants. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable. The gym was well equipped. It felt modern and clean. And if you stay in room 406 than you get a free firework show from your window. Because they do it from the park and it’s in view.

I didn’t know the pool was seasonal. It was not clear upon booking therefore it was closed on Victoria Day weekend. But luckily the weather was cool so we didn’t care.

Hotel is very spacious. Entrance to the lobby is nice and bright. The check in counter is very well protected with plexiglass due to covid and the staff are very friendly, helpful and informative. Rooms are big and bright with ample enough room to move around in without bumping into each other. Lots of area to unpack and put your belongings away so there not scattered throughout. The the rooms are equipped with a safe to lock up your personal belongings when your out and about. Breakfast was included, it was good and hit the spot to get you going first thing. Location is very convenient just off the 401 Hwy at the Brock st exit. Restaurants and fast food is directly across the street as well as the very next block all can be seen by eye when standing out front of the hotel entrance. Fuel stations within 2 blocks of each other. The Whitby Go station is walking distance from the hotel and approximately a 4 minute car ride. (due to red lights) Fabulous area, very convenient, and professional staff at this hotel makes your stay a wonderful and memorable one having you thinking about returning in the near future. There is an outdoor pool which is open in warmer weather unfortunately it was still cold and out of season when I was there with the family.

Time flew by to quick and would've like to have had a longer stay. Next stay will be longer

The breakfast was ok, bacon should be served everyday for those that don't eat eggs or sausage.

My family and I were coming back from visiting family late in the night and some of us stood in the passage way waiting for the rest of the group and one of the night staff came to us and said he was wondering what was going on because he saw a lot of people on his camera.

The breakfast was good! Great location! King bed was comfy, friendly staff. Overall, we had a good stay!

The sofa bed was quite uncomfortable. need a better mattress for that bed. Trash wasn't emptied so it was full all weekend. Also no wash cloths after they came to turn down the room and the phone didn't work so I couldn't call the front desk.

Good, would visit again given the same work location as before, nice location, quiet, clean, friendly staff, great parking that open (I was able to see my car from my room).

The only not-so-great thing about it is the breakfast.. a highschool cafeteria would probably be better, both taste and how they were served, big areas of improvements there, and please don't use the usual COVID19 excuse. Also, the shampoo bottles are placed too high to reach when you are in the tub, it would be nice to place them in a location accessible while being laid down. Thanks!

The rooms are extremely clean and bed & pillows are very comfortable. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are all provided in the shower in good size bottles which is nice in case you forget to pack AC worked perfectly throughout our entire stay Staff was super friendly and accommodating with an early check-in and late check-out Overall, a 10/10 stay and will 100% be returning during our next trip to Toronto
