Super 8 by Wyndham Midland

Breakfast included was great to have available. All day coffee available in lobby was fantastic. Room was clean. Staff was always friendly. Location was great for the town of Midland and close to many other small towns for day time outings.

As a non-smoker, felt that the smoking areas could be placed elsewhere, perhaps behind the building, instead of just outside the front entrance. I never felt like I could sit outside with a book since the benches outside the front entrance were always occupied with smokers. Or, optionally, perhaps have outdoor chairs on the grassy area beside the building for guests who wish to sit outside away from the smokers' benches next to the front entrance.

I liked my room

On my 3 night a group of 30+ booked in and were booked on 3rd floor. The adults were in 3 or 4 rooms and then there were 14+ kids put into the room next to me. I was in 307. I called down 6 x and complained. All they said was they were sorry. On the 7th x I said I was calling the police. The staff actually did something. The staff wanted me to move. I said no because this was my 3 Rd night and I had done alot of shopping etc and I was already in bed. I was very upset. I didn't yell or anything. I heard from other people on the floor it was awful for them also.

Outstanding location. It was close to Awenda provincial park - we were able to spend the day with friends who were camping there & have a comfortable place to stay overnight with our 3 year old. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, all staff we encountered were very friendly & helpful. My son enjoyed time in the pool - seemed well maintained, a bit cool, I guess they usually have it heated more but it really didn’t matter (I overheard another guest complain). It was nice to have coffee (decent enough quality all things considered) available 24/7 in the lobby. The mini fridge in the room was wonderful to have. There was a microwave also but didn’t use. Shower was good - adequate temperature & water pressure. There were observable mineral deposits on the showerhead which may be cosmetically unappealing but did not interfere with its function.

I wish there was better quality coffee available in one’s room. Breakfast options were a tad limited. My husband & son loved the fresh waffles they made (no real maple syrup unfortunately), yogurt, juice & bananas. I had toast & there were bagels available (didn’t seem fresh) but no cream cheese, which would have been appreciated. The scrambled eggs & sausages did not look appetizing. I wish there had been bacon, a variety of fruit, muffins, cheese slices etc. We were fortunate to have been up very early for breakfast - when we returned after 9am to grab a snack on the go for our son there was not much left. I know my expectations may be too high for a Super 8, overall our stay was very good value.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average, what I expected.

Front entrance green sofas looked old and entrance needed freshening up. Rather dull and dark. The rug in the bedroom looked old and dirty.

Just stoped in for a night during a 2 day cycling trip. Never stayed at a Super 8 before. Front desk person was AMAZING! Fast check in and was super helpful with our meal order and delivery! Breakfast area was spacious and coffee was amazing! Didn’t go swimming but the pool looked really nice! Best hotel with value for the price of the room!

The breakfast was great you get so much food sausage,eggs, home made waffles cereal,yogurts,fresh fruit and so much more. All you can say is wowzers to a breakfast like that haha, also the staff all of them are so friendly and helpful but Jess she was just so so great made are family trip just so amazing we will be back 100% next year. Oh ya the pool and hot tub well let's just say who doesn't want that on a family trip it was great. Thank you to all the staff.

I liked how the hotel supplied enough toilet paper for my entire stay. The room was easy to locate and loved that there were added locks on the room for extra protection.

Unfortunately during our stay there was a bunch of young hockey players that were very loud/banging around until 2-3 am. Both nights I couldn’t sleep but I know that’s not the staffs problem. For the price I paid I was expecting something a little more relaxing. I went down for breakfast around 9 and there was barely any food left. I ended up having toast with jam and my boyfriend wanted orange juice but there was none left.

The male manager who greeted us upon arrival, was so friendly and informative. The room was very nice, clean. The fridge and AC were turned off and it took awhile to figure out how to turn up the settings on the fridge. Breakfast was totally unexpected. Great selection of foods available, to meet everyone's needs. The pool and hot tub were a great addition.

When using the elevator to reach the 3rd floor, it made some really strange noises. It made you second guess using it..

Provided a playpen for our baby. Provided masks to those who weren't wearing them and asked them to put them on. Breakfast buffet had good selection and was replenished quickly. Room was clean. Bed was big and comfortable. Good selection of TV channels. Strong Wi-Fi. Lots of parking. Blonde woman working July 17-18, 2021 (not sure if manager but seemed in charge) was phenomenal. She was running the breakfast area plus checking in/out. Very quick and pleasant to deal with.

Too many patrons not wearing masks. When provided a mask and asked to put it on, most did so but improperly. Not the staff's fault but still annoying. Pool was small and too shallow, and could only be reserved for 30 minutes. No changing table for baby in ground floor washroom.

Overall it was a good experience.

1. Staff could be a bit friendlier outside of doing there checking in, there was no pleasantries nor questions as to anything, very poor lack of interaction. 2. The noise level at night was awful, we heard peoe talking, stomping and could hear the tv. 3. We ask for a late checkout and was told they had a full house, which was okay but the tone was not friendly. 4. If I had booked outside of booking.com I may have gotten a better price. I went online to check availability and there were openings so I wasn't sure why I couldn't get a late checkout. 5. I guess this hotel doesn't value my business so I would not choose this place moving forward.
