We have been visiting for years and have always had a wonderful experience! We now take our precious grandkids...a holiday we all look forward to very much! We enjoy canoeing, admiring the antics of the adorable ground squirrels and chipmunks, hiking around the lake where we always make new discoveries, enjoying our tasty meals at the restaurant, driving up the mountain to enjoy the splendid views and sauntering along the lovely meadow paths, the games room which offers a wide variety of fun...from pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, etc and many hours frolicking in the swimming pool! Definitely our favourite summer destination!

Living so close, I spend a lot of my days off at Manning hiking and snowshoeing all year so it was nice to be able to spend a few days walking distance to all these mountains and lakes. The convenience of having amenities like the restaurant, pub, store and pool so close is amazing. After dinner every night we did a short walk up Gibson Rd to Lightning Lake and explored all the little trails off the road. The whole place is super pet friendly (we even saw someone with a cat on a leash). The wildlife is amazing and the scenery second to none. As far as our room, it was huge and the beds were very comfortable. The tv had Netflix etc so we could watch movies at night without paying $25 for pay per view like a traditional hotel. The resort itself is beautiful with carved pillars as you enter and quite an impressive fireplace area as you walk in. There are washrooms everywhere. Our check in and out process was a breeze, they even allowed us to store our luggage up front until check in time so we could hit the trails early.

I can't really fault the resort for this because it was only my assumption that they would have it, but there is no air conditioning. I will say that they do provide a fan and the windows open far and have black out curtains so our room stayed cool even for the last weekend of July. Speaking of fans, there is no fan in the washroom, which was just a surprise. The only true complaint I have was there was a big dried puddle of urine on the base of the toilet when we checked in that was impossible to miss, but the rest of the cleanliness of the room was great. One thing worth noting is there are a lot of stairs up to the resort and I didn't see a ramp anywhere so if you are someone with a wheelchair or mobility issues you might want to call ahead about accessibility options.

Excellent food at the restaurant and the patio is wonderful. We had an accessible room as I recently had knee replacement surgery and it was wonderful/completely accessible. Large floor space, grab bars, desk for office work. Very quiet. We didn’t hear other guests. Very quiet at night as well. Wonderful sleeps. Lots to do: hiking/walks, kayaking, huge indoor swimming pool with lots of natural light, 2 hottubs. Very clean and well maintained. Weight room. Games room (pool table, fooze ball, table tennis). Seems like lots of storage for bikes, skis. Comfortable lounge area with fireplace. We picnicked outside at the many table and watched all the gophers

Only a couple of very small negatives: a few people that were not hotel guests managed to get through the pin code locked door into the pool (I guess you have to pull it firmly closed behind you) and used the pool. I spoke to the person at the front desk at the time and she was not concerned. Honestly, mid week the pool was pretty deserted so not a big issue but also not cool that people were just sneaking in. Second, we had no fan in our bathroom. A few hooks to hang towels and clothing would have been nice. Very small things. The manager was very receptive to the suggestions.

It was a short stay, but we enjoyed it. Food was good in the restaurant - Jennine in particular was a good server with a good sense of humour. The room was nice and the setting is wonderful.

We drive a Tesla. We were unable to charge it with the system you use. Fortunately we were able to make it to Hope with no problem. Also, we booked with Booking.com, and were told that pets stay for free, however we were charged $35 wen we checked in. Not a big deal, but confusing.

The resort is in a unique location in the middle of Manning Park. Check-in was seamless, my room was perfectly fine for an overnight stop with a comfotable bed and bathroom. I liked the screened window that I could open to hear the birch leaves rustle outside but had to close it against the highway noise partway through the night. Next time I will ask for a room on the other side of the building. No air conditioner, but temperatures didn't require it.

Some road noise with the window open.

Loved the location! The bed was sooo comfortable! Canoeing on the lake was the best! Added bonus were those adorable Prarie Dogs!!

The vent in our bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. The pool was so overcrowded with screaming & splashing. Would've been nice if there was adult only time last 2 hours or something. There was no AC in the room, but there were 3 fans & two windows, so we made a wind current that was pretty comfortable!

I dined once in the restaurant at the resort and it was fantastic quality. The staff was really friendly and I enjoyed the entire meal with my Gin-Tonic and spent a great time at the restaurant. Would always recommend that place!

There is nothing I didn't like. I really enjoyed my room and the entire facilities. The room is big enough and offers all you need. It even was in the same building and on the same level as the front desk. How comfortable :)

A very pretty location. the room was clean. the bed was comfortable.

our room appeared to be close to the main water system as there was loud gushing water at times in the night. the fridge was noisy so we turned it off . the sheets seemed old and worn and there was a stain on one of them. we arrived to have to witness a loud and angry woman at reception complaining about something that wasn’t working in her cabin. which somewhat soured the atmosphere!

Brkfst was great and big, beds very comfortable and the location was wonderful. The amenities looked good even if I did not used them. I like that there is a cart for hauling luggage and that we were on the first floor so we did not have to carry stuff up the stairs.

The hall floor was not vacuumed so it looked not that great.Learned that there is a shortage of housekeeping stuff. The card was very noisy so I worried that it disturbed other guests.

the property is rustic but cozy. the room was big enough to accommodate a crib nicely. the rooms are well isolated as we didn’t hear the neighbours at all and it was really warm despite the cold weather outside. the pool, jacuzzi and sauna are a nice plus to finish the day. the restaurant staff is amazing with kids, accommodating and playful.

every activity organized but the outdoor centre is at additional costs. the food is extra too and just okay.
