Oaks Nelson Bay Lure Suites

The property was spacious, clean and very close to the restaurants and marine area where there are more shops and restaurants. We had the Seaview room which has such an amazing view from the lounge and dining area. The windows let in a lot of light. Our accomodation was an apartment and hotel room combined to make two bedrooms which suited us in terms of space. When we took a break from outdoor activities the kids had plenty of space to play in the lounge area. The photo I’ve attached is this lounge area. There’s also a nice playground for the kids called Nelson’s Bay Foreshore which is right next to the water which was pleasant for the family. There is relatively flat sidewalks to allow the kids to take a scooter ride.

Nothing to complain about

Location is great easy downhill walk to Bars,Clubs,Restaurants Cafes,Supermarket Chemist. Nelson Bay has a great village atmosphere with everything you need. Safe friendly with beautiful bay walks. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with water views from the balcony.It was perfect for two couples with spacious bedrooms a fabulous kitchen and lounge area.A full length mirror would have been a nice inclusion. Only issue we had is that it was a little cool in the mornings as the Air Conditioner wasn’t working. We didn’t use the pool .

Good location, walking distance to the main shopping strip, the marina and the small children's beach. Rooms were nicely presented and refreshed and the swimming pool was a real hit with our 3 year old! Staff very nice and accommodated a last minute request to push back our stay by a day due to an unexpected medical appointment. The courtyard in our unit was also a great space. We will definately be back.

As we stayed 5 nights, it would have been handy to have a small vacuum cleaner in the unit to clean up the sand/crumbs etc (I had a 3 year old) to try and keep the place a bit cleaner. But otherwise no issues!

the 2 bedroom apartment was huge and clean, my daughter felt at home instantly. our bedroom even had views of the water. the room was also very quiet, the bedding was very comfy. the kitchen was fully equipped. location was great, only a few mins walk to the town centre and the marina. Dutchman's Bay beach was also very accessible from the hotel. Leanne from reception was very friendly!

there is a bit of rattling noise from the aircon in the main bedroom. also the pool closes at 6, maybe during summer they can make pool operating hours a bit longer as the sun does not set till 8pm.

It was perfect for for our 2 night stopover on the way home. The lady on reception was extremely helpful and even after she had had a long day she was more than willing to assist and explain everything ( I apologise for not remembering her name). The apartment was clean and spacious.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment. The dual key apartment had 2 single beds upstairs and a queen bed a long way from the upstairs beds downstairs. Our kids loved it as they felt it was like their own apartment but if you have young kids please call ahead to check the configuration of the apartment as the stairs are very steep and you may not hear your kids from downstairs when sleeping. Kids can also open the door from the inside.

I liked the location and closeness to the beaches and CBD. The room was very nice and clean.

I thought there was going to be some cooking facilities in our room other than a microwave. This was a disappointment as we would have booked somewhere else if we had realized. We also did not have a great view. I was surprised at how far the BBQ was from our room on the 4th floor - it was too far and so we didn't use it. We thought the logistics of getting down to the area with our food, drinks and cooking equipment was just a bit too hard. The area around the BBQ was not inviting. It just seemed to be a concrete area, not landscaped and nothing pleasant to look at, so it did not induce us to make the effort. Contacting the staff post stay was impossible. We were traveling and tried to call them to report a broken glass. We tried many times but gave up.

* No internal laundry * No dryer- can’t dry wet towels * Small portable clothes line- difficult when there’s no dryer *Two seater alfresco set for 5 adults!! * No pool towels (no signs to advise of hiring the same from reception) *Small dining table with four wooden chairs for 5-6 adults * Internal wooden steep staircase 10-12steps- no anti-slip strips to cover whole step- dangerous for children and elderly * Nor t enough cutlery and plates for 5 adults (paid for 5 guests) * No complimentary bottles of Water. * Water from tap had no filter * Bath towels scratchy and very well used

The friendly staff at reception gave a very good first impression. Our two bedroom apartment was comfortable, clean and well equipped. The stove heated up quickly and the knives were sharp! Parking bays were large and there was always space available. There is a large Woolworths a short walk away, although it is down a steep hill.

We found the free wifi quite slow and the televisions only stream if you hotspot your phone and connect that way. They cannot connect to the free wifi. The Kogan televisions in the bedrooms were dreadful, the Hisense in the living room was much nicer.

The apartment was clean, airy, open, the bedroom was very large and comfortable. Kitchen had most amenities. Bathroom was clean and modern, the beds were very comfortable. The location was great, close to everything, and was able to walk to most places. It was up a hill, but still very convenient.

The lack of lighting in the kitchen, I think there was only 1 or 2 down lights. It was hard to navigate.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment. Clean, spacious rooms with kitchen, dining area and lounge. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. We enjoyed our stay in the apartment. Bonus - Also got to watch sunrise from one of the bedrooms. About 300 m from shops, restaurants, and the waterside. All the major beaches are within short driving distance. We enjoyed a lovely walk in the evening. The Thai restaurant nearby served delicious food.
