Kookaburra Lodge

Standard brekkie, but surprised to see dairy free milk options including barista oat! Very clean across the property, brekkie staff were great, even on the last weekend of the season. Walls are thin and we had a large group in at the same time but it was still a pleasant stay nonetheless.

Showers in the shared area are a bit coffin-like and the change room area is a little confronting (especially for the young girls in the other group). Toilet doors cut very high to go above the toilet so the door can open, which feels a little risque. Bit dated, but still very clean facilities and nothing that would keep me from coming back, just maybe getting an ensuite next time.

Such a good location and price was one of lowest at peak snow time. I loved the parking and free breakfast!!! Staff answered my queries quickly. Check in and out was easy.

We had a twin room. But it was tiny. And the two single bed ends faced each other. Very awkward as I stayed in same room as my brother 😐. It would have been ok for a single room but squished for a twin. Cant complain only booked a few days before check in. Its ok for solo travellers and prob not a long stay. The kids next door were a bit noisy but it was good there were signs to remind everyone to be mindful. Would be keen to book a 4 bed own bathroom next time! Couldnt sleep much I think it was the hall light or fact my head was right next to the door!! And hall where ppl walk. The smoke alarm had 2 green lights constantly blinking.

The whole stay - I would have liked to stay longer - Jindabyne is beautiful at this time of year and accommodation very comfy. The Owners have gone out of their way to make sure everything you need is there down to the decor (things like beautifully inspired mugs, selection of teas, etc.) The decor of the room was very welcoming and I just loved the Kookaburra picture in the room which was so relevant to their name (not to mention the Kookaburra on the weather vane - little things like that that the Owners have taken attention with). Breakfast lovely with juice, cereals, toast, tea and coffee and then a cooked egg, bacon, beans and potato gems - what more could you ask for. Well I suppose a lovely comfy bed and plenty of hot water in the shower which we certain had. Barbecue area and a Guest Lounge where you can make snacks & quick meals, find games and videos. The Owners obviously love their gardening with small gardens aesthetic gardens around their site. I definitely recommend staying in Jindabyne at the Kookaburra if you have the opportunity, enjoy a walk around the lake and a great meal at the Bowling Club like we did.

Room had a nice aesthetic, communal room was amazing, parking was easy, staff were friendly.

The walls really are PAPER thin. Everyone did say this. But we needed a one night budget accom so no worries there. Our neighbors were two drunk men but they (sort of) quietened down after we tapped gently at 1am. Luck of the draw. We moved the bed further away from the shared wall which helped a bit and slept with swimming earplugs 😂 Bed was a little old, had a solid depression where someone had slept.

I loved everything. 😀. kookaburra lodge is a very lovely comfortable place to stay. The staff are amazing and very friendly and helpful. The rooms feel so cosy. The bed in my room… Room 20.. an ensuite room … had the softest mattress and beautiful sheets and quilt. I slept so well. The breakfast was yummy. The location is really good… right near the shopping village. Jindabyne is a good base if you are wanting to go to the ski fields. I would 100% recommend this accommodation to family and couples. 10/10. 😀

I’ve reviewed this quirky ex school ski lodge in the past and it hasn’t changed. if you’re looking for a “cut and paste” hotel/motel room this place isn’t for you. if you want to experience something a little out of left field you can’t go past this place. The facilities are amazingly homely, the staff are there for you and friendly when you need them and not seen when you dont. The shared common room is a wonderful touch too. Its not my first time here and won’t be my last

If you can find things to dislike here you need to get yourself a sense of humour

Room was clean, warm, and comfortable. Shared toilets were also very clean with free shampoo + body wash. Shared lounge room with the fire place and kitchen was a big plus point. Complimentary breakfast was also great. Location was superb and very easy to find. Susan was extremely kind and hospitable for holding a room for us when our 4WD got bogged and we had to stay an extra night in Jindabyne.

Walls are a bit thin so sometimes you can hear noise from the rooms next door. Earbuds were provided but we didn't need them because by the time we were ready to go to bed, we were already so tired and fell asleep quickly.

The property well maintained, very clean and in an excellent location. The owners very friendly and helpful. The rooms and beds were comfortable with thoughtful extras such as addition blankets and cups in rooms. The cooked breakfast was a great way to start the day and the lounge area provides a nice place to relax.

The walls between rooms are very thin. This is, however, acknowledged by the property and there are signs reminding people to please be respectful of others. The toilet and shower cubicles are also small, but very clean and well kept.

The room and bed were in excellent condition. The wifi and mobile reception was not great inside the room. It would be great if wifi network can be bettered. Breakfast was good and had plenty of options. Even the staff serving breakfast was quite helpful.

wifi network was not great, I tried to turn off wifi and use my mobile data, however seemed like there was no network for my mobile as well.

Everything was beyond what I expected. The room was bigger and more modern that I expected. The guest lounge and kitchen were incredible! These are usually average n a but dodge... not this place! Super clean , high quality lounges and kitchen area, gorgeous styling with roaring fire going everytime I went in there. The staff were smiley and helpful. Great pricing.

If I had to say one thing, it'd just be a bit more space in the bathroom, was very tiny. But not much you can do about that, and loved everything else
