Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn

Great location, could walk town Main Street if wanted to but just across from the river park, perfect spot for some green space & fresh air. Beautiful walking path. Room very spacious & bed comfortable. I was given a disabled room with shower curtain, bathroom got a little wet. But still clean & tidy. Could hardly hear any other guests considering it was fully booked. Parking underneath hotel was super easy & plenty of spaces. Reception staff really friendly. Heaps of great places to eat in town as well.

Rooms are a little dated & need an update but still comfortable & clean.

Clean, conveniently located, comfortable.

Because it has a restaurant the room facilities are minimal (ie toaster but no microwave, knife but no forks, no ice in fridge etc), but the restaurant has never yet been open when I have stayed there. Also walls in the main building are not well insulated for sound. There are signs reminding guests to be considerate but I was woken by television noise from the next room and later conversation from the corridor.

The staff were rude!!!!!!! Paid $310 we checked in around 8pm at night we decided to go for a walk with our kids in the morning after breakfast before we continue our drive to Melbourne only to come back around 11:30 the room was already cleaned and our stuff were parked in bin bags near the door, my hand bag and phones in the reception it was shocking! we left our phone in the room while we went for a walk the staff said they tried to call us and no one answered it was 2 missed calls when we checked yet they decided to put our things including my baby milk and feeding bottle in bin bags waiting for us by the door. Imagine if something else had happened to us? normally check out is 11am at hotels and I had no idea it was 10am as the receptionist claimed. Sometimes last year, I had lodged in this same hotel when I was also heading to Melbourne and I left my gold bracelet under the pillow at night and when I woke up I forgot and as we hurriedly left the hotel and when we called the hotel they said they couldn’t find it. For good one month I asked them they couldn’t find it. With the behaviour of the red headed lady and how she spoke to us and shushed our kids 2 and 4, if she sees a customer jewels she will take it because she had no single empathy how she spoke. Shame on you all and I do wish one day you get treated like this. No wonder it’s super quite compared to the 2 previous times I stopped on my way to Melbourne. I see why your hotel is now like ghost town!

We reserved a Deluxe Queen with Balcony - and we weren't disappointed! The room was very large and came with a fully equipped kitchen (including washing machine & dryer). Free covered parking for the car in the annexe where our room was. We had dinner and breakfast in the small restaurant in the main building - OK, but nothing special. I would definitely stay here again just on the basis of the comfort of our room!

The restaurant could have had a better menu & better service, but that didn't detract from our stay.

This was mine and my 4 year old sons second time staying at this hotel and I can’t fault it at all the staff are amazing the rooms are lovely! The pool my son wouldn’t want to get out he could stay in there all day if he could haha

I don’t have anything negative to say about this hotel or the staff it was fantastic the only thing I would suggest is maybe having some more dishwashing liquid as one packet was not enough but the staff were lovely when I had to ask for more :)

Well the room was a fantastic size and so modern. I loved the pool area and even through there were a heap of kids in the pool there was plenty of room for all of us. The salmon I had for dinner was perfect and the wine was cold and crisp. My bed was so great to sleep in I did not want to leave the next day. I can not wait to book in again next month.

I did not like that the bar was not open during the day, at lunchtime. I had to walk a long way to the pool but when I saw how big my room was I did not care about that. There was not much else i did not like - i really liked a lot of things about this place and can not wait to come and stay again soon.

Everything the sauna was fantastic. The hot tub was fantastic. The spa in the pool was fantastic. The pool was clean and fantastic. The rooms were clean and fantastic. Our breakfast was absolutely delicious highly recommended

The only thing that I had trouble with with stepping down into the sauna, it was a little bit deep from my short legs The spa app in the pool with a bit hard to get into because I’m so short and old

The beds were amazingly comfortable! The room was big enough for us 4 (1 adult, 3 kids) and it was clean. It was also quiet and dark in the morning, which allowed us to get a much needed sleep in. Would highly recommend.

The only thing that could be improved is the drain in the shower. It doesn't drain the water very quickly, so if we didn't stop the shower every now and then, it would cause the water to overflow on the bathroom floor. I'm only mentioning it because it asks me "What I didn't like". I wouldn't have otherwise.

The location was incredible, across from the river and a short (walkable) distance to town. Felt private and quiet even though they mentioned they were fully booked out during our stay. Rooms were more spacious than expected. Pool and spa facilities we had to ourselves. There was the option for breakfast and dinner at the location which we didn’t use but definitely would’ve had we stayed longer.

If we had to really pick something, parking in the second building was a little tight, cars very close to each other. Cleanliness was good but there were a couple of things that could’ve been better (eg, stains on the curtains, bins not fresh) but this did not effect our stay, this is purely because the review requires this question.

Great location as a stop over between Melbourne and Sydney. Beautiful big room with a comfy bed, large TV, and a large two person bath in the room so you can watch tv/listen to music while in the bath. Restaurant was outstanding- delicious food and excellent service. Hotel also has a sauna, spa, pool and gym. A clean, comfortable and relaxing place to stay and rest during a long trip. We will be back 😊

A few noises during the night from rooms nearby - humming and buzzing, plumbing etc. Our room overlooked the car park so no pretty view or balcony but this didn’t impact our stay - would be nice to have had a balcony and a nice view.
