The Lodge Outback Motel

We stayed in a motel style room at the side. Although it was dated, it was very convenient to be able to park our small campervan at the door, and the facilities were good - small kitchenette, table and chairs inside, and outside, comfortable bed, good linen. On departure, the lady on reception showed me one of the rooms in the historical guest house. It was gorgeous and not expensive. I would like to try it next time.

This is the 3rd cheap motel I have tried in Broken HIll in the last couple of months, and it is the best of the bunch. So I guess it is my regular now. It is a few blocks from the centre of town, but if you are just driving through and want a bed for the night, what do you care if its not in the middle of town? (there is a RSL style restaurant 5 minutes walk away). You could do worse; I have done worse in BH a few times!

Location to everything we wanted to see

It needs a lot of tlc , was rather small for 2 + luggage, bathroom really small shower doesn’t stop water all over floor but beautiful hot water. Having said that there are new managers trying to work their way through everything that needs to be done

Our welcome was sincere and the inside rooms are special.The lodge is not only a motel but those rooms make you feel like you are in a true lodge. The accommodation is within walking distance from the centre of town and the civic centre. This accommodation has warmth and not just because of Broken Hill heat.

Very comfortable! Loved the bed, and the facilities that I had were in good condition. Felt very safe.

Didn’t love that the kitchen sink was a bathroom sink, would’ve been a better design for a proper sink I think and easier to fill the kettle, wash the dishes etc.

The room was very comfortable and clean, and the staff were lovely.

Arriving by foot from the train station, it’s about a ten minute walk, which makes it slightly outside the centre of town. However, being a motel, after all, with a car this distance is nothing to speak of!

This motel is a restored heritage building. The room was fine, with a fridge and microwave, and the bed was comfortable. The location is a fair walk from the main part of Broken Hill but it was quiet.

Nothing really. My rating for cleanliness only reflects the fact that this is an old building. We loved the character of the place

Location is great, filtered water is offered complimentary and outdoor tables and chairs handy for breakfasts or drinks. The historic house is great. Best to have a room in the historic building and not in the extension as it lacks character.

My booking for a family room detailed a room with its private veranda. My room did not have a veranda and no view. Few rooms do have a private veranda, so make sure, you require these. Swimming pool hours could have been a bit more flexible for any adults to enjoy swimming.

Great friendly place to stay in Broken Hill. Walking distance to the Centre for pubs, cafes and shops. Would definately recommed upgrading to a spa room for a bit more luxury! Thanks Janelle & Troy!

Quiet location. Friendly staff. Easy booking on drive in.

I detest the way foreign companies have taken over booking process. It has disrupted an Australian visitor's ease of travelling.
