Protea Hotel by Marriott Ndola

1. Hotel set in a large green space, ideal for morning and evening walks or runs. 2. Open plan design hives it an open feel. 3. Nice pool area even though the police is only 10 metres long. 4. Fresh clean linen and towels. 5. Working safety deposit box. 6. Room was a good size. 7. Ironing facilities provided. 8. Alarm on door if not properly shut.

1. Lack of an in-house gym 2. Noisey refrigerator and Aircon kept me awake at night. 3. I had an evening flight and spent the day at the hotel. Housekeeping staff kept popping into the ground floor loo when I was there. I hope it was not personal. 4. Trouble with power, left the whole hotel in smoke for a while.

High quality bed like what you expect from Marriott. Best sleep I had on Africa. Excellent breakfast buffet with made to order eggs or omelette included on your room rate. Restaurant was North American standard. Staff extremely friendly. Totally safe.

Towels could be a bit fluffier but other than that nothing to complain about.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing!

The internet quality was extremely poor - which was a massive issue - and would make me want to find somewhere else in the future. It really let down the other qualities of the hotel, which were excellent.

The staff were fantastic, all greeted us by name, remembered our preferences for drinks and food and were genuinely concerned with my wife's recovery after surgery.

The wifiis terribly slow....which is surprising for a business hotel....

I thought the breakfast was really something special ... it covers all you need and more ,the flavours of the food where also amazing ... well done to the chefs, we also tried your lovely platter on the menu which was great! Your porters/ security where very helpful and friendly as we arrived and this always adds value to your experience when you have a friendly greeting at the door... your reception ladies where also very professional at check in ... a big mention to Ceaser that works in the restaurant , he was very helpful and looked after us well.

The best stay ever. The environment was pleasant and welcoming. Both check-in and check-out were professionally handled and easy. Everything was great at this hotel, amazing staff that is friendly and makes customers feel welcome.

The property was as well as mentioned in the booking and the service was very nice and the rooms well maintained

I had to hange rooms because they always try to put me facing the parking. The fruits in such a hotel in Zambia should be the best- they were awful during the 7 nights I stayed.

Meals were excellent! Reception was exceptional, outside Environment was very conducive and quiet

The fridge in my room was not working and had to be changed while I was there. It could have been checked before the room was allocated to me. I also thought I didn't enjoy any benefit of being a Marriot Member - the rate that I paid is the same rate that was on the website when I was making the booking.
