Stoney Creek Hotel Wausau - Rothschild

Stoney Creek Hotel is a well-kept property featuring a charming Northwoods-themed motif with plenty of free parking. The staff is friendly and helpful and attentive to needs. Our room was clean and spacious. Hot breakfast was good and sufficient. Although we didn't use it, the swimming pool and area was large; it appeared there was a splash area or something that was not in service but otherwise a very nice area. Very good internet service and several USB charging ports in the room.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. If there was one thing we complained about, it was the small toilet. It was a nice place!

This hotel was very beautiful! The lobby was very cozy and the rooms were equally cozy. The pool was large and maybe a bit cooler than other pools we came across on our vacation but my mom still loved it. The hot tub was large and had some seriously powerful jets which was great for sore vacationers. Would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast didn't start until 6:30 so we didn't get to try it, but we wanted to be on the road early so realy not a big deal. We were in room 202, when the laundry was running it sounded like a chopper hovering over our room, this was not a huge deal since they only did laundry during the afternoon and it did not last long at all.

The breakfast area was a nice size and able to accommodate several families at one time

however if they are done eating they should retreat to their rooms to allow others to come in and dine. I took my food back to the room for both my mother and I because there was no where for us to fit. My mother was with a walker and no where to move around in there for her anyway. The pool area should have adult hour 10-11, I did not have any room to do laps in the pool or able to fit in the hot tub. Parents should know health risks about a hot tub and get their children out in a timely manor, let them soak in the tub in the room to allow others a chance to get in. The bathroom toilet and sink need to be updated to bring height up for better accommodations.

Check in was very quick and pleasant. The pool and hot tub were great, and it was nice to have a pool table and air hockey as well for entertainment. Breakfast was simple but good.

The rooms and bathroom feel a bit dated, but it was very clean. Only true complaint is the guest above/around us was (hard to pinpoint where they were exactly) very noisy and was stomping around well past 10pm. I do not hold the hotel accountable for their actions however as they do not control what people do

We were allowed to check in when we arrived, even though it was a little early. Our room was big and comfortable. The pool area was great especially the whirlpool. The breakfast was good. The woman who was working in the breakfast room was excellent. She kept it cleaned and checked on everything constantly.

The pool and whirlpool were being cleaned in the middle of the afternoon, could have been done before it opened or after the pool closed.

Thinks in the room,we went in the tub but when the water settled there was a dirty tub and that was not from us. The cord from the right side of bed was not connected at all and no way would reach the plug. Nothing was plugged in. I really wrote a note on the dresser that really needs to be dusted. Trust me l am not complaining but you need to check these things. We really love coming here but things need to be checked. But l know that we will be back and have given your name out to many…. Have a awesome holiday weekend!

The coffee located in the entry was nice and also having a selection of cookies was a nice touch. The pool area was clean and the hot tub was nice to sit in and relax. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The TV was easy to use as well. The hotels free breakfast was good and it was nice that they were able to tell you what is for breakfast by placing it on the door of the breakfast area.

The pool area was clean but there were only two towels left to people to use, i'm sure they were working on getting more, not a complaint more of a observation. The room came with dispensers of shampoo and conditioner in the shower and lotion and hand soap in a dispenser by the sink. I was not looking at the wall for these items so just a heads up and look around before calling the front desk. lol - One thing would be nice is the carpet in the rooms to be updated to lanolieum or vinyl flooring, not saying they are bad but an update would be a good suggestion.

The location was great very convenient staff was wonderful and for a free continental breakfast it was ok average I think they should have served some kind of doughnuts or danishes

Besides the wonderful staff the lady that checked us in was a little strange when I called ahead to see if could check in early she is yes please it will give me something to do I’m very board and when we didn’t come right away and did show up she said I have been waiting for you who saids that and wanted us to tell them complaints right away if we find something wrong with our room I did not find that very satisfying never experience that before

Good location walking distance to a couple restaurants and a huge grocery store and movie theater. Unique rustic furnishings that may be a bit dated, but the entire hotel is clean and well kept. Comfortable beds, pillows and room with microwave, large refrigerator, TV and good WIFi.. It has a huge indoor pool area that was pleasantly warm, a very large hot tub that I thought was just right but my wife likes them hotter. Staff was very pleasant. It is right across the street from a national chain hotel, but at a much, much lower price. Its only about 6 miles from CWA airport. No shuttle but a Lyft is only about $15-18.

A selection of sausage, eggs and potato items in warming trays that could have been much warmer. Easily fixed. It did have a pancake machine that was good and served a couple hot cakes at the touch of a button. Just have your plate ready on the right to catch them.

The front desk staff was simply too good to be true. And I watched them treat all guests with that same friendly respect. I am sharing your name with family and friends. My soecial needs 9 year old grandson was my plus 1, and we had such a great time there. (pool area, breakfast, design for decor and facility). He taught me to play that motorized table game and I happily lost track of quarters... We live in the far north, but loved your version of woodsy wilderness - no bugs, wet tent, burned hot dogs or labors. Just being together.
