Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington DC Capitol-Navy Yard

Loved the location. The metro was across the street, the ball park and soccer stadium within walking distance. Had an early morning guided tour at the Capitol and it was a pleasant 25 minute walk. Liked the convenience of breakfast. Nothing fancy but great to get one's day going when busy sightseeing. Room was very clean.

I'm not sure if it was just our room or a common occurrence, but the carpet and floors had that damp, just steamed cleaned feel. It could be the humidity. I would also recommend that they have in writing the cleaning schedule. I could have been told that they clean the rooms after 4 nights at check in but probably forgot along the way. Could have used a resupply of soap (one bar for the shower). I like that they are not wasteful, but should have noted that we had used one up.

Location, room was nice, good value, rooftop deck

Large roaches on the rooftop deck (not in room) but crawling everywhere. I know it’s a city hotel so that makes it hard to control. But they were everywhere. Also the pool was supposed to be open 10a-10p and it didn’t open at 10, my family and another were told it would open eventually because of maintenance but some signage or notice would have been nice. It being closed wasn’t a big deal but communication would have helped.

The Staff were all so lovely. They made staying in DC so special for us. They helped my kids with breakfast, made suggestions for places to visit, and were attentive to our needs while also not being overbearing. The second floor where breakfast was served was a lovely calm respite in the middle of a busy city. I was so thankful this was where we stayed.

The pool wasn’t open the first two days but that happens. Other than that nothing.

The front desk staff were just okay - really did not get the sense that they are engaged, liked their job etc. - the usual stuff that one expects from people who work in the hospitality business. The breakfast room staff, on the other hand, were excellent.

Great size room with kitchen and seating area meant it felt more like a studio apartment rather than a hotel room. The location was excellent with walking and metro options on the doorstep. Hot breakfast choices rotated well and it was never too busy. Free laundry was a bonus.

The hallway occasionally smelt a like wet dog. The number of switches that controlled all or some of the same lights and lamps was confusing.

Great location right next to the Nationals Ball Park and a quick hop to the Metro station. Great hot breakfast every morning and a pool for the kids to play in.

Placed near families with young children who cried extensively while settling down at night - we have older children, so would have appreciated not being near young children.

Plenty of space in the suite. The bed was comfortable and the shower/bathroom was also very good. I used the amenities provided. It was excellent if one needed to self cater. Very close to public transport and the ball park. Room was quiet and the breakfast was also very nice. Would definitely return if staying in DC again.

The front desk staff/valet were wonderful, cannot say enough good things about them. The hotel location was perfect for our trip, just a 2 block walk to the Nat’s stadium. Room size was perfect for my family of 4.

Our only issue with our entire stay was the cleanliness of the hotel. The room, and the sitting areas in the lobby, had layers of dust on everything. Looked like it hadn’t been wiped down in quite some time. Everything else about the hotel, and our stay, was perfect!

Great location! Plenty of places to dine. Ballpark and metro very close. Very clean hotel. Great fitness center.

Staff was very nice, but lacked information upon arrival of hotel amenity’s and events. Breakfast hours were short.
