Holiday Inn Staunton Conference Center, an IHG Hotel

The location was great, it is quiet , away from noisy town or people. Golf course view was nice with mountains behind in the view. Staff was friendly and helpful. Dining area very nice , well done with updates. Rooms are very large and husband liked that there was a desk in the room where he could work on laptop when needed.

Initially , the room we were put into was fine, but the view was of the air conditioner units, and when I booked out room, I was not aware that would be an issue. I called downstairs and the guest services quickly changed our room , although we were not able to get the King bed, we did get a much better view of the golf course. So we took two queens for a better view and one floor up. The only other issue was the side doors were not locking when we came in at night, you are only supposed to be able to get in with your room card, so I again called guest services and she told me she would have maintenance take a look and the next day it was fixed. Breakfast was okay, should have been free, its rare hotels don't just add this to your room charge,

Overall the hotel was what you would expect for Holiday Inn. All the staff was nice and getting to the hotel was easy enough. The location has a nice view with the golf course but there is nothing else around it. To get to “town” it is a short ten minute drive. We had an issue with the room being clean but the staff was receptive and promised to have the issues addressed.

Although the overall expectation for a Holiday Inn was met, it still fell short on being clean. We arrived at 3am and did not want to go through the whole process of getting a new room. Food was left in the fridge, a Kleenex was left on the side of the tub, the bathroom floor under the sink was dirty, and there was food left on the floor next to the bed. Although this fell short on the expectations, it was still an overall nice hotel!

What I liked was the room was spotless, and so was the bathroom. Which meant a lot to us. I took my 4 year old granddaughter with us and having a clean bathroom to bath her in meant a lot.

I felt the breakfast should have been until 10:00 not 9:00 because we are on vacation and not everyone wants to get up early to run down stairs to eat that early. And if you went like 8:45 mostly everything was gone. Also the indoor pool that was advertised was Ice COLD. The heater had broke but they did get the parts in and get it fixed but was not going to put it on until the end of the month. That was a big disappointment to my granddaughter who loves to go swimming.

The I had difficulty checking in because the credit card reader’s rap function did not work. In keeping with modern security recommendations I have my credit cards loading on my phone. Therefore I don’t need to carry my credit cards and do not know their numbers. Even 7 Eleven stores all have functional tap card readers. I certainly expect that a new IHG would be up-to-date. The front desk staff I needed to understand that it is new technology I need to be understanding. It’s not new.

The room was clean, the staff was helpful and courteous. The beds were comfortable.

My only complaint was the air conditioner in our room was extremely loud and didn't cool the room. We didn't complain because we weren't going to be spending very much time in the room. I am a light sleeper and I was constantly being woken up as the unit cut on off throughout the night. It was horrible but overall the room was clean and comfortable.

great location, next to the golf course. Pet friendly, very important, good area to walk close to the hotel and then a great longer walk around the golf course. Restaurant was sit down service for breakfast but I didnt have time.

maybe a coffee station in the morning to grab a cup going out the door. Not sure what changed during COVID and after so, maybe there was something like this but I did not see it.

The hotel was located so you could hop on and off rt.81 in 3 mins. The hotel was very nicely remodeled.There was a restaurant on-site with entery next to check-in area. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. Everything we needed. The food was excellent and service Outstanding. I was happy with the price. We will make that our go to hotel going and coming back from Florida from now on.

There was not anything I didn't like about the hotel.

The breakfast was really well done, the waitress came out and greeted us got our order and returned with our food promptly, she was friendly and very gracious. The food was good, we checked in very late and we were there for only one night. Overall a great stay and

Location right off the highway! overlooks a golf course! restaurant and bar on site! Staff very friendly and accommodating!

The fabric chair in our room was covered in dog hair and needed vacuuming….very noticeable. Also when I tried to flip the cushion ….ants in the chair…told front desk…..Also the back entrance could use some attention….

During our stay the cook was on vacation, no replacement, so the prepackaged food was under pae for sure!

No mention that we needed to get a voucher from the front desk to show that we paid for a breakfast through booking.com for which the front desk verified but could not take our $12 meal charge off because we went through booking.com
