The Lancaster Hotel

Breakfast was tasty, simple but complete - but not at all in class with European Hotels for the same price range. Luxurious bed, very comfortable. A nice bathroom, however not really with modern hardware (again, thinking in relation with the room's price). All service in the lobby, and valet parking, was excellent. Nice and clean interior. Friendly staff. Valet parking, excellent.

Old shower nozzle head full with calcium, almost impossible to adjust (Room 1106, please fix it). The gym was very rudimentary. Some lifting machine would have been expected (for this class of hotel)

I loved that the hotel thought of every detail! From the makeup cloth in the bathroom, to the wonderful handwritten card by the GM left on the coffee table. It was really a great experience. I even loved that when I arrived, and it was raining, that the door man came to the car door with an umbrella and also helped me get out of the car, while another gentleman took my luggage to the front desk so that I could check in. Each small detail really made me feel like the hotel cared about my overall wellbeing, and thought very carefully about the small details.

The only thing that I could complain about which is not within the control of the hotel, was that my room was located near the flagpole and while it was windy it would bang against the rod which was a little annoying. I couldn't hear any street traffic or anything, but the banging of the flag on the pole could have been annoying if I was trying to sleep.

I was pleasantly surprised. Everything that was in control of staff was well done. The details did not go unnoticed -- pressed linens, monogrammed items, brand name soaps, even the gold seal on the toilet paper! And the real kicker was the hand written note. Wow!

The only thing to improve is the shower hesd. We were in a handicapped room and the shower head sprayer handle would slide up and down the post just fine, but would not tilt down, so it was difficult to get into the stream of water when standing. It was obvious that others tried to tilt it, because it had become loose.

Great location super close to the theater district where we were headed. The hotel was extremely clean, and the staff was amazing. I arrived early planning to stow my luggage, but they accommodated an early checkin. Grabbed a bite at the bar and the food was great. The included continental breakfast was definitely better than most, and all the drinks/snacks in the room fridge are complementary. I’ll definitely stay here again.

Words cannot describe how luxurious, comfortable and overall incredible my stay has been at The Lancaster! The dining experience alone was worth the stay. The menu is eccletic and the courses taste as delicious as they look. Speaking of food, you get complimentary snacks and beverages in your room! And they keep it stocked for you! No mainstream hotel I've stayed at before can boast such a service. Their FREE breakfast is a wide variety of meats, cheese, fruit, parfait, eggs, bacon, sausages, hashbrowns, bagels, pastries, breads, jams etc! The rooms have a beautiful view of the city with large windows that keep the room lit up and give it an open feeling. The bed and pillows are so comfortable and smell so wonderful. I don't know what kind of fabric softener they use but it smells so calming and sweet. The bathrooms are spacious and they even provide toiletries for your convenience. As a bonus, they even include 2 robes in each room. The location is a quick uber ride to lots of amazing food places. The staff were truly the highlight of my experience. Everyone was so kind and smiled all the time. You could truly tell they love what they do and they love working for this hotel. This will now be my permanent hotel when I visit Houston. And a special thanks to Amandi for being so gracious and kind during my departure. I can't wait to come back!

We were in the heart of the theater district. My wife and I came to downtown Houston to watch a musical and it’s convenient it’s across the street from the theater. We were offered a complementary glass of wine after check in. The room is a tad small but it’s expected from a historic hotel. We love the story behind the hotel. We love the art and story card that accomplices it. We especially love the little things like the complimentary drinks and snacks. Most hotels charge an arm and leg for a bottle water, so I appreciate beverages are complimentary. The room rates do run on the higher end. I understand all these free stuff are included with the rates, but the experience more than compensate for it.

Great. hotel.Cosy,quiet room with safe,good WI-FI.Helpful and friendly staff.Good breakfast with healthy items such as salmon. Minibar full of non-alcoholic drinks and snacks all inclusive. Champagne every day on arrival in the afternoon. The gym is very small and with few equipments , but the hotel has an agreement with a great gym half a block from the hotel, so we can say that it has a great gym

Im room safe. I showed the problem to the hotel technician. Any code guest use, there is a master code with very easy numbers that open the safe. I won't say the number but the establishment should take care because the problem may exist in other room safes

Stylish hotel, nicely decorated. The rooms are spacious, luxurious and very clean. Comfortable bed, luxurious toiletries from Bvlgari. Very good breakfast buffet. The free minibar with drinks and sweets is really an exceptional bonus that you rarely get in other hotels. Staff is friendly and you really feel welcome here. Overall definitely recommended !

Terrific breakfast. Great atmosphere

Spoke to the maid service directly myself to pull out the sofa bed at 6;30pm. We returned from our concert and drinks quite exhausted only to find that it was not done. Housekeeping was gone, sheets were given to us but we had to do it ourselves and there was no blanket provided. It was cold and guest didn't sleep well because of it.

I found the hotel quite nice, with a pretty lobby and a beautiful restaurant. The room itself was super comfortable that I was tempted to just stay in and order room service. I did manage to explore the area and when I came back to the room, I was quite cold. Luckily, this was remedied by changing the temperature which was a lightning fast fix. The bed was cozy and having all the complimentary snacks and drinks to partake in was a mega bonus. I lounged in the Hotel robe and really felt like I was on vacation. The breakfast was fine, with standard options. I did I request soy milk and was disappointed to hear that they didn't have it but they did have oat milk which was even better. Additionally, the valet crew were my first point of contact and were so lovely, friendly and helpful. They also helped direct me to where I could walk to get food which this area has soo many options. I ended up going to a Food Hall and had some pretty epic food at a place owned by a MasterChef Season 3 winner. AMAZING!

I was thrown off by the casualness with mask wearing by a few staff members and a lot of guests but that may just be par for the course given this is Texas. I am glad to see that there is a plexiglass partition at checkout as this is a great preventive measure for the staff given that many guests didn't wear masks. Nevertheless, I would stay at this hotel again.
