SHERWOOD MOTEL

Hotel was very clean, neatly kept, and well-appointed for this price point. Room was quiet (except for A/C), with microwave and larger refrigerator, upgraded bath, comfortable beds, and simple but tasteful decor. Property had attractive outdoor shrubbery and convenient, safe parking. Discount card for local restaurants included.

My ONLY criticism was the noisy A/C unit--it cooled effectively but made too much noise for 2020's standards.

The room was very clean and just renovated . The shower had excellent water pressure. The rooms are a little small so if you have a family of 4 you might feel crowded but other than that the staff was quite good and friendly. I would recommend this facility because the rates are quite reasonable.

We really loved this motel. All the staff was friendly and helpful (they enjoy working here). The room was immaculate, the floors and carpeting were clean, so clean I even walked around in bare feet. The beds were comfortable, we slept well. After biking the Pine Creek Rail Trail it was awesome to come back to our motel and use the pool, this was one of the reasons I decided on Sherwood, because we could swim and sun at an outdoor pool! The grounds are spotless. It's my understanding that this is a family owned business, family owned for a long time, and let me tell you they are proud owners of this business and they do a great job. We plan to return again in October to bike some more and will stay here again!

There wasn't a thing we didn't like.

The location is good. You can walk just about anywhere you need to go. The pool is a good size and heated. The towels are well stocked at the pool. The staff is very friendly. Check-in and check-out were very fast and easy.

I put a "service please" card on my door in the morning and returned in the late afternoon to it still being there. I just wanted garbage taken and new towels. I am not sure why nobody came around to do it. The pool was nice, but the walls could use a good scrubbing. The spa tub in our room was pretty small. It worked well, but I barely fit in it. No food or drink in the pool area. I understand this to an extent, but if I want to set a drink on the table away from the pool, that should be ok.

Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a light bulb burn out in our bathroom, and needed extra toilet paper. It was taken care of in less than 30 minutes. Property is well maintained, including pool- very nice! Our room - 2 queen beds with regular bathroom was clean and comfortable. Location is excellent, right at base of Main street, Wellsboro, from a few steps to 3 blocks from every restaurant and shop in downtown Wellsboro, including local grocery store, Dunkin Donuts, and McDonalds, which are literally across the street. While you are close to town, the property and room is very quiet, hearing very little to no noise during the height of traffic through town. A lovely small town with nice restaurants and shops. 10 miles from Grand Canyon and 2 state parks.

Hard to find a criticism. I would've liked a firmer bed. The water pressure and temperature of shower was impressive, but shower curtain has to be just perfect and has some trouble containing the high water pressure . Nothing that is a deal breaker!

Nice people Nice location Been going there 25 years and will continue

Well,we have been going here over many years. Its probably bcuz of pandemic, but they dont do daily or even every other day of room cleaning. They will grab garbage and bring towels. We were going there to enjoy motel and the area,its so nice coming back and having beds done etc Many places are cleaning. Get your vaccine and get on with the job,like the rest of us Thx We atill enjoy going there tho,hope their rules will change soon!!

We enjoyed our first visit to the town. Being able to park directly in front of our room was great. The outdoor pool was nice, and our family enjoyed it. The location was very convenient and made for a good walk around town. Close to outdoor activities we wanted for Pine Creek Gorge and shops and eateries in the town.

We knew there would be no breakfast served, so we planned accordingly and brought our own. However, there are quite a few good places around town to grab something. Too bad this motel didn't partner with one of the local places for breakfast-win, win for both buisness, even if it was just a percentage off order.

Very clean, cheerful room, nice grounds - the pool is a plus, although I didn't take advantage of it this trip. My 4th visit to Wellsboro in past 6 years, 1st time I've stayed here - and I will definitely come again!

Wellsboro lacks restaurant options - that isn't a knock on the motel. If you are walking, you basically get McD or Pizza Hut from the Sherwood.

No breakfast--has never offered breakfast. Clean. Very clean. Pool is delightful. Covid: so no housekeeping unless a resident asked, which all should understand during a pandemic. Manager Stephanie is pleasant and professional.

No masks on staff! That was supremely disappointing, and at least one staff member was unvaccinated. I didn't even continue to ask. My room had no cell phone signal except at the headboard of the right bed. I needed to ask Stephanie for another room or to have her get me wifi another way.

Very nice courteous staff... Everything in my room was nice and clean. Excellent location. It was really nice to come back to the room, after a long day of sight seeing, park my car directly outside the door, and walk across the street to the "Fox's Pizza Den & Terry's Hogies" for take away. The walk for food was very short, directly kiddy corner across the street, and the food was delicious. All of these attributes rates this motel very high. Also, the motel was right in downtown Wellsboro which is a walkable town. I am a single woman, who stayed there by myself, and I would return without hesitation.
